The level our domestic league is, unfortunately, atrocious. The fact that our clubs lost against the sides they played in the European competitions yet again proves that. I absolutely support the Cymru prem, but it’s got to improve radically. Seems that the FAW don’t give a damn. Shame on them!
Much much easier said than done. What would you do to improve the standard for example? Anyone can sit here and say "the league needs to improve" - okay but how? Yes I wish they did better in Europe, but apart from TNS we're asking semi-pro sides to beat pro sides just because we're Wales - it doesn't work like that!
What do you actually suggest that's productive and beneficial?
@@CaelanDafydd I agree with everything you say. But apart from injecting lots of cash (from the government, FAW, and sponsors), I don’t know what the answer is. They must be doing something better in the Faroe Island. They have a population of 50000, but their clubs have done much better than ours.
@@Gilboy63 The thing they are doing better than us is that their 5 best pro clubs don't play in Denmark. If you took away all their top clubs they'd be lower down than we are for sure
@@CaelanDafydd So what you’re saying is that our top clubs should pull out of the English system? If so, I agree, but not until the Welsh Prem improves. As a Cardiff City fan, the prospect of going away to TNS and winning 15 0 is not really that attractive!
@@Gilboy63 No I'm just saying that our situation is not comparable to the Faroe Islands. I think it's better for the national team to have Cardiff, Swansea, Newport & Wrecsam in the English leagues. But I do think Merthyr should follow Colwyn Bay in moving over
