there are genuine tears in my eyes from pure shock and laughter. i’ve never been so damn bewildered in my life over a beat. this ain’t even a beat bro this a damn exhausted. i cannot even process the tomfoolery that entered my eardrums right now. 1000/10
@Pull UP! I don't know about that, I mean so far this is the only beat I've heard from Ranix that truly puts him ahead of the competition. The very concept of using the oriental riff as the basis for the beat, along with the choice of instrumentation and the fact that it's slightly off-beat makes this track sound like something a clueless, talentless producer would actually make as their first flstudio project (using the demo version of course), while his other works kind of sound like they're trying so hard to be so-bad-that-it's-good that they end up losing their charm. For example, in "worst beat 5", the earraep phone notification sound effect doesn't sound like anything an actual producer would put in their music, since it's so out of place that it's just obvious no serious producer would put it there. You see, DistantCry's music works so well because, believe it or not, *it's actually good*. In terms of production value and compositional effort, DistantCry actually excels in creating music that sounds like something a producer would make, he just makes deliberate choices which are contrary to anything a serious producer would do (the animal sound effects that are often present in his tracks, the common use of the "aw" sample as the basis for most of his instrumentation, etc). If Ranix wants to actually surpass DistantCry then he'll need to emulate the ridiculousness of using the oriental riff in a beat (maybe a sample from classical music? More samples from Spongebob? Just throwing ideas), but until then, it remains to be seen.
@@aldebaran584 I totally agree with you, I started making beats this summer because I was and still am a big fan of distantcry, so one day I woke up one morning and since I was bored I said to myself :hey why not try to make a beat -at the beginning I didn't even think that my videos were going to reach 100 views lol, and you can see my first beat is an abomination, but it was the first time that I used fl studio so I was very confused. when I started to get positive opinions on my first video, it encouraged me and so I decided to dedicate this channel only for my beats. what I'm trying to say is that I'm not professional, and don't intend to invest myself in a musical career, making beats is just a way of having fun when I'm bored, that also explains why I don't post often, lately I've been very busy with my exams and believe me when I tell you that even when I try to make a good beat,(trash beat 5 for example) it always sounds wrong, and it's annoying because despite several hours spent on fl I still can't improve myself I've tried several times to produce something good, I've watched several tutorials and even asked for advice from a professional but hey I can't help it. anyways just a small detail to add, I made this beat when I had the corona, with fever and severe fatigue, my brother called and said to me: hey look I found a thumbnail for one of your videos, I laughed and decided to do a chinese type beat, the next day after posting this vid I wanted to delete it bcause it was so bad but hey it's my most liked video haha ,and I personally only think that this video blew up just because the memes abt china have become trendy lol
@@ranix9900 Hey, it's so cool to get a response from you, man. Honestly, my advice is just keep at it, you shouldn't feel bad that you have no idea how to produce now because you've only just started. Practice makes perfect, as they say. Also, I don't think this beat became popular because of the China memes, it has, as I have said, more to do with the fact that this beat is so ridiculous without being too overcomplicated. I think you should try to find some gimmick you can use in almost every beat, like DistantCry has (in my opinion, go with something ridiculous and clichéd like the oriental riff every time and you'll get results), and also ditch the numbering system (calling your beats "worst beat 13" et cetera) if you want to set yourself apart from Distant. Keep at it!
