  • Tracy and Dave discuss a comprehensive approach to managing pasture land and promoting optimal health among the flocks. Witnessing the release of the animals to pasture near the end of the program will delight the child in all of us.

Tracy, how big are your paddocks for number of sheep? How long would you leave them on the paddock before moving them to the next paddock? - Mark

Thanks for the video. I've got some work to do in our pasture. We've got quite a bit of burdock and thistle. Do you have any recommendations on the best way to get rid of it? Probably going around a pulling it, eh? Do you think frost seeding in the spring would help the good stuff overtake the bad stuff?

I don't know what it is with horse people in our area, but most just flog the shit of their land! They have no understanding of pasture management. Most have heaps of weeds in their paddocks and turn them to dust. This even applies to some horse studs I've seen. If people don't have the money to run horses, then simply don't buy them!

Loved the information in this video, although the subject being interviewed needed to speak up. Maybe a little confidence would be a natural way for him to enunciate when speaking on camera.
