That's a nice vintage manual you have there. Interesting video and modules.

Thanks, I'm planning on it. I've just got to carve out the time to produce them.

Thank you! The sequential switch function is what I've been trying to figure out. I saw another youtube video using the 1050 as a sequential switch, but it didn't elaborate how. I'm currently using the 1027 with the 962 switch, which works great, but I want to give the 1027 and 1050 a shot at working together.

Sean - thanks for the positive feedback. One technique that you can do is take CV outputs A, B, C and route them to the 1050 Mix-Seq. You see this in my demos. But you can also use a mult to repeat a CV output.
so, route output A into steps 1 and 3. The B-->2 and C-->4. You get a sequence A,B,A,C. This lets you move beyond A,B,C, A,B,C

@@seansnyder7744 It is brilliant. I wish I had thought of it. Someone (on reddit?) shared that with me in response to this video.

thanks very much for these videos, i couldn't understand the diagrams from the manual, they must take time to decode

The most unusual thing about the ARP 2500 modular is the Matrix Patching. Check out my video in the 2500 Bible series on Matrix Patching. That may help in understanding the diagrams in the manual.

Great video! Also, you can mult the signal for a 32 step sequence

Thanks! I had to think about this for a while. I could use OUTA cv (via mult) for Mix-Seq inputs 1 AND 3 , then use OUTB cv for input 2 then OUTB cv for input 4. That gives 32 steps and the repeated OUTA melody is a pretty musicial form. great tip!

@@ozhalljr yup I went through the manual when I first got the module and did something similar. Your tip about resetting for a shorter sequence to add to the complexity was really cool, love how flexible this module is. Going to try that. Been wondering how to use these modules to make polyrhythms with 2 voices.
If you have any ideas I’d love to watch a video on it. I really enjoyed your teaching style

@@TheMachinesWon Many Thanks!!! r.e. poly rhythms, You could use the 1050 mix-seq as a second voltage source with a different length. i.e. take a DC voltage, mult it and run it into all inputs on the 1050, then trim the level of each step to pitch. Adjust "count" limit as desired. I'll see if I can come up with another idea. (although buying a second 1027 sec is also an option).
You could also fake a poly rhythm by repeating a sequence (e.g. 3 notes). Of course that would not be a try polyrhythm.

@@ozhalljr thanks for the great tip, I don’t have space for another module so trying to get creative. If you have any other ideas I’m interested for sure. Will try this and see if there’s any other ways possible on my end too. Thank you! 🙏🏽

Yes but the patches are from examples in the ARP 2500 manual, So it IS ARP.
