    I listened to the song for WEEKS with an octave higher, at 50% speed to try hearing his lines... Oh God... I'm so relieved to finally hear the bass...

      Why would you do that?
      Just hear the song normally and you'll hear him...

      @@pempotfoy6206, the guy was obviously learning the song. Not all of us are blessed with your divine ears, I guess. :)

      @@maldivirdragonwitch the bass is very audible in the original mix

    It doesn't sound so floppy to me...I would even say that his playing is very clean, given the complex and fast riffing.

    You can tell he has newer strings on this than in some of the other other albums. Listen to the metropolis isolated bass.

    • @AtomizedSound

      Could be, also could be a different bass with a different sound too though or different strings altogether.

    • @pempotfoy6206
      @pempotfoy6206 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@AtomizedSound still sounds very similar to the other tracks but cleaner and brighter. I would say it's the same bass & Gear different strings.

      @@pempotfoy6206 no he played a four string on this album but used various six strings on the other ones

      @@AtomizedSound He used the same Spector in Metropolis pt1.
      Probably used different settings on the eq.
      But maybe OC was referring to Metropolis pt2, in that case it's a whole different gear.

    I liked his playing a lot more back then: now he mostly mimics what the guitar goes.

    True, one thing I hate that I hate is how his bass is buried in the mix. D:
