Mike, Happy to see your keeping a family tradition going. Its so important spiritually to set family traditions. Thank you for honoring our service men & women! Enjoy you Wagons. I can see that the paint was beautiful in the past.
Thank you Mike. The history and wagon show were awesome, but the thanks offered to our servicemen and women was really special. My father was a Vietnam vet, dealing with demons for years after his return stateside. I honor his service and his Bronze Star immensely. He wasn’t perfect, but honestly, no man is. That is God’s purview. We all do the best we can. Our family never went hungry, or worried about a roof over our head. How I wish all our children could say that. God Bless you and your family. May Mother Nature Bless you as well.
You know that summer is right around the corner when Mike breaks out the wagons. Remembering those who lost their lives to defend our country on this Memorial day.
Some things, like Gilbert’s wagons are as you put it, a reminder of our history. And thanks for the Tribute to our service “men”, appreciate that! Bless you all in Jesus’ name!
God Bless the U.S. Military and their families. I can't imagine where this country would be, if we did not have men & women that willingly make the sacrifices our military families make everyday! God Bless each and every one!
First, thanks for your service Mike,(my son is in the Air Force and my son in law is retired Navy)God bless all the military, and first responders! I think it's great you keep Gilberts traditions alive, blessings to ranch and family- Jerry
Great video, as usual. My father-in-law landed in Normandy on day 3. Was ultimately wounded and came home. My father was a flight engineer on a B-17. We Remember.
Your ability to bring home the memories if those that gave the ultimate sacrifice brought tears to my eyes. Your videos are so uniquely turn from week to week always an inspiration. Whether you talking about family or your animals it is always a heart-to-heart conversation I truly appreciate all of them.
My father served in the Army during WWII. He was injured when a bomb detonated in very close range and spent about 6 months in a hospital in Italy. He had several pieces of shrapnel in his back that they couldn’t remove. They bothered him from time to time, but he never complained. He never talked about the war or what happened until he was old. Then it seemed like he had to finally deal with it before he died. He was a good man. I also lost a large number of classmate during the Vietnam War. Now I have a grandson in the Air Force who is getting ready to serve in Italy. I pray for all the families who have lost a loved one and for those who are serving now. May our Heavenly Father bless each one of you.
That’s awesome to keep the history of the ranch going. History is important and so are our love ones who has past on (Gilbert). Believe it or not we may all be on our way back to the original way of living just as you all are. Thx for the education. I will definitely pass it on 👍🏾👌🏾
Traditions are as necessary as anything else in our lives. Catching your videos each week is something that makes me smile,,, regardless of how shoddy the week has been. For that,,, I thank you and Erin most sincerely.
Hi, Mike. I love your videos and this is no exception! I was unaware of the 'minute' of remembrance on Memorial Day! Thank you for this new knowledge! My dad was a Fighter Pilot in the Marines and gave the ultimate sacrifice 28-MAR-66 while flying his A-4E Skyhawk. I was just 3-1/2 at the time - but I do have fading memories of him and how I wonder how my life would have been different, had he lived. Thank you for your service also!
Let us all remember those that paid the ultimate sacrifice for our great country. Memorial Day while used by many as a kickoff to summer with BBQs and parties and celebrations, should not forget what Memorial Day is truly for. As everyone enjoys the holiday, remember those that died for our freedom that made BBQs, parties, and celebrations possible. God Bless those who gave their lives, and God Bless the families of those who gave their lives. 🇺🇸
Here in the UK, our remembrance day is "The eleventh hour of the eleventh day of the eleventh month when we remember all lost service personnel since WW1 I personally use it to remember all downed personnel from any of our allies especially the USA "WE Will Remember Them... Had decided on a late and lazy kind of Sunday breakfast for a change and what a gift you had posted a little earlier Mike! How is it that things or objects like wagon wheels seem to sink into the ground so easily with time? And yet a picked over field seems to yield a new crop of rocks each spring? You and Erin and your family operation bring many warm smiles :-) -Bob
My father used to put flat rocks under the wagon wheels when they were going to ‘set’ a while. [He was the last man to haul grain to our local elevator with horses] Would patio bricks help keep these wagons set clear of the ground and make it easier to move them. And Memorial Day is special. Your wagon move is appropriate for the holiday. Memories of what has gone before and the people who serve. God Bless you.
It is good that you want to remember your history, we always need to remember where we came from and the struggles of those that came before us went through. I know I will have my moment of silence tomorrow, for if not for the millions of men and women who served our country proudly and for those that paid the ultimate sacrifice, we owe them everything.
Mike, there's a story behind everyone of those wagons. We may not know the real story behind each, but we can imagine in our own minds what they might have been. thanks for sharing!
Those things , that you do around the ranch are extraordinary , for us for the city people , have a nice holiday, thanks for sharing all those things that make us to get involved in the country living blessings to your wonderful family
Great video chocked me up made me think back on the great times I had with my grandparents on their ranch and all the old equipment they had compared to today
Love the wagons and displaying them to remind folks of a piece of history. Just like that model T you have. I know these things may be sold in the near future since I'm watching your older vids but I hope you find homes for them that will appreciate their meaning and give them an amazing life.
Hey Mike, seems like your videos just keep getting better and better! Your way of honoring our fallen heros was very nice, Mike. That background music took me back to the old west as well, that was too cool. Thanks again for your hard work on these videos.
Have you thought about giving that green-and-red wagon a lick of paint and putting a few plant pots in it? Maybe stick a sign on the side and park it by the driveway. Could make a nice friendly welcoming thing out the front of your property.
Always looking forward to seeing your next video. Thank you so much this is where I get to relax and enjoy your video. God bless your family and Rancho.
Great video Mike. I think it's a tribute to your nature , that you care enough to traditionalize (is that a word)(?), the honoring of history concerning your ranch . Also loved that you took time to mention those that made the ultimate sacrifice. A little side note ; It would be neat to see a canvas placed on that covered wagon. One with " OUR WYOMING LIFE " emblem on the side . Maybe it could make the project list.
Hi Mike and Erin i have really looked forward to seeing the old wagons come out if only them wagons could talk what a story they could tell a great video Mike
Mike , thank you so very much for this video !!! As I sit here with my Dad remembering !! Remembering the great times I had with him and my Mom !! My Mom went Home last year on July 20 ! And my Dad has Dementia so a lot of him is gone. But I have my memories !! Thank God for them !! Some day we will be together again !! I guess it is me but this is the best video , to me , that you and your family have produced ! And for that I am thankful !! Have a blessed weekend my friend and God bless you and yours !!!!!! Eddy
I look at Little House On the Prairie everyday. That is my favorite show. They use some language that is not familiar to me. So looking up the unfamiliar language brought me to your website. I am just a city girl. (smile) Thank you.
I know where there are 2 of those rail road wagons. The Alaska railroad keeps them in working order. They are mostly for decoration but still out at the depot. Yours is the only one of Gilbert's wagons that is meant to be hand pulled. Thanks for another great video.
Great video. Always enjoy them and look forward to the next one. I have always wondered how wagons roll as in, all vehicles have bearings, and use grease, but wagons were built before either.
Traditions are important, your tradition with wagons that helps you remember your father-in-law is cool on multiple levels. We are thinking about friends and relatives who served in the military this weekend, also. Thanks for telling us, I didn't know about the moment of remembrance, I'll be thinking about that tomorrow.
The spiritual is just as important -- some would say even more important -- than the bread, butter, n beef of life, Mike. Thanks for serving up both in your videos! (Btw, I like the way you wear the moon on your ear.)
I don't know if they still do this, but when I was in school(35 years ago), in Ag-Shop (short for Agricultural Shop) we rebuilt a wagon wheel, from the woodworking, to fitting the metal wheel, to bearings. You might check the local high school or local tech-college to see if they would be interested in refurbishing the wheels.
Those wagons are cool! I have been waiting for the wagon video. I always wanted to build one from scratch. I have researched a little bit of how they made certain parts. I don't know what the heck I would do with one after I built it but maybe someday I'll do it. LOL! Hope you all have a great Memorial Day Weekend.
I figured you were waiting for it. Glad you liked. The little wagon I rebuilt I ended up doing some creative wood work but it wasnt horrible. The hardest part was trying to remember how to put the whole thing back together. Thanks Jerry - Mike
Looks like you did a great job on it. There is a place in Montana that refurbishes old wagons. I was watching some you tube videos yesterday afternoon about making the hubs and wheels. Considering the era that they were making those parts, they were really smart craftsmen back then. I really like that old technology.
Good video. Might want to look at getting a large bucket and a paint mixer drill attachment for mixing milk, if this sounds like something you might want to do you can buy large 8gal or larger buckets from most homebrew stores. Thanks for sharing with us 👍
Hello Mike and family, I almost feel bad to tell you that the farmers, here in Michigan, are frantically cutting their first cut of hay today. The high amount of rain has it standing 24" tall and thick enough to walk on top of it. Hope you get an early cut this year also.
Mike if you look up Engel Coach shop. they do nothing but mostly rebuild wagens like you have and even show how to put the tire and that is the right word according to him. back on. thanks for saying something about our men in service. they are our backbone to our Nation. thanks for sharing
Hi Mike Erin and girls happy Sunday now got home saw the notification and was so excited nice way to spend the afternoon relaxing watching you guys, hi Mackenzie how's Bambi ? Hi Mr. C glad to see you i see you're doing well. Great minds created great idea, great job with the bottle. Another great adventure on our Wyoming life thanks for sharing 👋 bye. 🐂🐂🐂🐂🐂.
Hi Mike! As I recall the term for guys who fixed wagon wheels back in the day is Wheelright. Hey do you rinse that blender before you make Margaritas? :) My Memorial Toast to our lost Brothers is "To Absent Companions." Terry - Justin Texas
Find your closest Tex Cote dealer. The coating over wood, metal, stucco or plastic is a lifetime product. Roll it on after cleaning prior. Those wagons will never need to be touched again. It's a great winter or rain day project. Its fire resistant, waterproof, breathes, mold and termite/bug proof. About twice the cost of paint. It doesnt fade, reflects 36 to 40 degrees of heat. US military uses it for infrared and ultraviolet reflectivity. It's like adding r19 4" stud wall in one coating. NASA, homedepot, lowes never paint after build. They tex Cote at build. Love the channel. I sell it vs paint on stucco in San Diego.
You dont have to barn them in the winter. Just pull the canvas. Two less jobs yearly on the project list and Gilbert looks down at as good as new wagons on display always. The coating is water proof..beyond belief.
Patch wood with flex patch. It flexes is sanded after primer coat. Makes wood wheels and boards look like new. It's the strongest part of the wood like a broken bone for humans.
If you cant find it. Go to the texcote.com web site. Choose colors. Black for metal. Ect and I'll get my contractor to shoot a price. The metal is great on navy ships turns ships ect invisible to heat detection except exhaust. Us military paid for research and development. Watch Sweedish homestead and justin Rhodes, Ricjard perkins on utube. Let the animals help with the heavy lifting in gardens and high tunnels in the winter. Darn no trees for mulch free is a bummer. Improvise..
I a enyoy watching your videos, I have never been to Wyoming I find it vary interesting state. I live in Bakersfield California. Do you ever use horses to round up the cows? I am an animal lover and would give them carrots. Here ranchers get truck loads of baby carrots for them. Thank you so much for teaching me about your state
Good video didn't know about the minute of remembrance I do believe I will join you tomorrow. I see the summer hat just wondering if there is a ceremony for breaking it out for the year?
The final wagon that you moved, any idea how old it is? It looks like it would have been used as a cargo wagon. My great-great-grandfather used to have a farm near Piedmont, SD. According to his obituary, he was found dead (1889) on the road to Belle Fourche from Piedmont in his wagon. I'm thinking he might have had a heart attack as he was 57 at the time of his death. He is buried in the Piedmont Cemetary.
I bet theses wagons could tell every stories from what they were used for to kind of people who operated them way before trucks. I see the fox decided to have itself filmed!! Surprised he or she didn't decide to pull faces or mooning at it, lol I'm guessing the rooster is still alive, or did he taste good, 😁
Mike I think it is wonderful how you keep up traditions that gilbert did. I'M wondering what he would think of this youtube ting I'M feel like he would think it is a bunch of nonsense. LOL Gilbert sounds like a man I would of liked and had a lot of respect for. I think the old wagons cool for some reason I have always liked the old horse drawn stuff and the old farm equipment. Have a great memorial day weekend. God Bless the America the ranch and Mike and erin and Kids!!! I want to thank all those who have served in the military to protect this country so we might get to enjoy or freedom. Also want to pray for those families who have lost family memberts serving to protect this great country we call home!!!
I’ve been binge watching your videos and wondering how you fill up all your equipment with gas. Do you have your own tank on the land? Do they deliver it to you? I don’t think you just drive a big ass tractor to a gas station.
Mike, Happy to see your keeping a family tradition going. Its so important spiritually to set family traditions. Thank you for honoring our service men & women! Enjoy you Wagons. I can see that the paint was beautiful in the past.
Thank you very much - Mike

Great video. Today, at 3pm, my moment of silence will be filled with the memory of BOCPD OFC Amy Caprio. Thank you Amy, we're in gratitude.
Thank You Amy - Mike

The bottle holder is genius, I remember both my grandmother and I each holding a bottle in both hands while feeding our bummer lambs.
It works really well. Thanks - Mike
Great tribute for Memorial Day! Love the tradition of the wagons.
Thanks Ryan - Mike
God Bless the U.S. Military and their families. I can't imagine where this country would be, if we did not have men & women that willingly make the sacrifices our military families make everyday! God Bless each and every one!

I wish I was a farmer, I love the solitude and working alone, its not for everyone, but I would love it as you do.
You are right, for some its can be daunting Thanks Chris - Mike
Great job with the peacock Erin and Mike! It’s good to his beautifulness. Super cool wagons... I am sure there are many folks that like to see them...
Thank you Mary, you would be surprised how many people stop to get pictures taken with them :) - Mike
Your ability to bring home the memories if those that gave the ultimate sacrifice brought tears to my eyes.

I think it's great that you bring out the wagons.
We really do like them. Thanks - MIke
THANKS FOR SHARING FOR ALL OF US THAT LIVE BACK EAST, BUT HAVE A WESTERN HEART.
You are very welcome and thank you - Mike
Traditions are as necessary as anything else in our lives. Catching your videos each week is something that makes me smile,,, regardless of how shoddy the week has been. For that,,, I thank you and Erin most sincerely.
Thank you very much, I am glad we can be a part of your traditions. - Mike
I get that, my dad passed away when I was 13 and I feel the same way. Thank you for watching - Mike

Here in the UK, our remembrance day is "The eleventh hour of the eleventh day of the eleventh month when we remember all lost service personnel since WW1 I personally use it to remember all downed personnel from any of our allies especially the USA "WE Will Remember Them... "They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old:
Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn.
At the going down of the sun and in the morning We will remember them" God bless them all.....
Thank you very much Charlie. That is amazing - Mike
We are so lucky to have people willing to volunteer and protect us and our loved ones! God bless them all!
General Pershing picked that time to sign the Armistice (peace treaty) of WWI. He was a member of the Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks (BPOE). The Elks use the eleventh hour to remember all departed Elks. General Pershing thought that would also work for remembering veterans. It was known as Armistice Day until after WWII.
Thank you very much Bob, its those little things that keep us working :) - Mike
Nice ending shot with the moon over your right shoulder.
That was just a happy accident. Thanks - Mike

Thank you and thanks for watching - Mike
My father used to put flat rocks under the wagon wheels when they were going to ‘set’ a while. [He was the last man to haul grain to our local elevator with horses] Would patio bricks help keep these wagons set clear of the ground and make it easier to move them. And Memorial Day is special. Your wagon move is appropriate for the holiday. Memories of what has gone before and the people who serve. God Bless you.
yea bricks would help I'm sure, I'm going to have to remember that when I park them this fall. Thank you Fiona - Mike
It is good that you want to remember your history, we always need to remember where we came from and the struggles of those that came before us went through.
I know I will have my moment of silence tomorrow, for if not for the millions of men and women who served our country proudly and for those that paid the ultimate sacrifice, we owe them everything.
Couldnt have said it better. Thank you - Mike
Great video. If I drove down your road and saw the wagons/fire truck I would for sure stop and admire/take photos.
It does happen occasionally, even the model t is out there with them, on the other side of the fire truck. Thanks for watching - Mike
Mike, there's a story behind everyone of those wagons. We may not know the real story behind each, but we can imagine in our own minds what they might have been. thanks for sharing!
That there is, the history is amazing. - Mike

Have you thought about giving that green-and-red wagon a lick of paint and putting a few plant pots in it? Maybe stick a sign on the side and park it by the driveway. Could make a nice friendly welcoming thing out the front of your property.
Very true, I think at one time Gilbert did just that. Might have to do it again, great idea - Mike
Always looking forward to seeing your next video. Thank you so much this is where I get to relax and enjoy your video. God bless your family and Rancho.
Thank you - Mike

Thanks Grant. We only get one cutting here so we are still on track. Rain will help, that’s for sure. Keeping our fingers crossed. :) -Mike
nice wagon collection
Thank you Chad - Mike
Mike if you look up Engel Coach shop. they do nothing but mostly rebuild wagens like you have and even show how to put the tire and that is the right word according to him. back on. thanks for saying something about our men in service. they are our backbone to our Nation. thanks for sharing

I wonder if you could pour linseed oil on the old wooden wheels to help preserve them
I'm sure that would work, I wonder if I could dip them somehow. Thanks - Mike
Nice video I love all them
Thank you :) - Mike
Hi Mike! As I recall the term for guys who fixed wagon wheels back in the day is Wheelright. Hey do you rinse that blender before you make Margaritas? :)

Oh man, I cant do tequila anymore, but Erin likes them. Dont tell her that I dont rinse it! - Mike
Your secret is safe Pard. - Terry
Thank you very much - Mike
If you cant find it. Go to the texcote.com web site. Choose colors. Black for metal. Ect and I'll get my contractor to shoot a price. The metal is great on navy ships turns ships ect invisible to heat detection except exhaust. Us military paid for research and development. Watch Sweedish homestead and justin Rhodes, Ricjard perkins on utube. Let the animals help with the heavy lifting in gardens and high tunnels in the winter. Darn no trees for mulch free is a bummer. Improvise..
Nice video. Thanks Mike
Thank you for watching - Mike
I wish that I could meet you guys one of these days
If you ever get through let us know - Mike
Looks like this winter project, paint all your wagons.

Us? Never lol you get two hard headed people together and it happens. Thanks for watching - Mike
I a enyoy watching your videos, I have never been to Wyoming I find it vary interesting state. I live in Bakersfield California. Do you ever use horses to round up the cows? I am an animal lover and would give them carrots. Here ranchers get truck loads of baby carrots for them. Thank you so much for teaching me about your state
Excellent
Thanks Joel - Mike
Well said...
Thank you very much - Mike
Hi Mike I now am a ranch hand in Montana 33 miles away from mile city Montana

Hello Mike & erin, nice Video, whe not have that kind of Wagons here.I like them👍😉.m.v.g.Simon Lich Oostwold Oldambt Netherlands!
Thank you very much Simon - Mike
Good video didn't know about the minute of remembrance I do believe I will join you tomorrow. I see the summer hat just wondering if there is a ceremony for breaking it out for the year?
Not really, there should be though. I donned it during the livestream. Thanks - Mike
Maybe it is best to just pick it up one day and save the ceremony for when the fall hat comes back out
That's kind of how it works
Cool wagons
The final wagon that you moved, any idea how old it is? It looks like it would have been used as a cargo wagon. My great-great-grandfather used to have a farm near Piedmont, SD. According to his obituary, he was found dead (1889) on the road to Belle Fourche from Piedmont in his wagon. I'm thinking he might have had a heart attack as he was 57 at the time of his death. He is buried in the Piedmont Cemetary.
I bet theses wagons could tell every stories from what they were used for to kind of people who operated them way before trucks. I see the fox decided to have itself filmed!! Surprised he or she didn't decide to pull faces or mooning at it, lol I'm guessing the rooster is still alive, or did he taste good, 😁
Funny story, I talked some smack about the rooster in our livestream. The next day, he as gone. Thanks Calum - Mike
You must be very happy now Mike. 😁
Tradition is very important to me, its the things that remind you of different times. Thanks a bunch - Mike
I just stumbled across your TH-cam channel the other day but who's Gilbert did he own the farm before you bought it
In each morning, me or my sister will be going with my dad to check cows and calves. 🐮🐂🐄
Very cool, thanks Helen - Mike
You welcome Mike -helen
I’ve been binge watching your videos and wondering how you fill up all your equipment with gas. Do you have your own tank on the land? Do they deliver it to you? I don’t think you just drive a big ass tractor to a gas station.
Love it u rock
Thank you Bryan, as do you! Thanks for watching - Mike
