Since these are both profilers, there is more involved in just matching up amp models. It's not like modelers where you should expect apple to apples. How were they mic'd, what mics, what cabs, how was the room treated? It's cool hearing them side by side but simple differences can happen just by changing the mic or hiw it's oriented.
Tonex sounds so much better. I had them both and only kept the Tonex cause it sounds and feels better. The only downside is the awfull software and poor usability, I think that Kemper wins on that regard. I hope IK multimedia fixes that, then it will be an unmatched champion.
I too had them both. Traded the Kemper for an Axe FX FM9 and then trade the FM9 for a JCM800. Now I have another killer amp to profile with my Tonex lol.

yes, that’s why I bought a camper, I wrote to ex, if they had added at least one fx block, this would already be enough

Kemper is definitely better for me. Everyone can perceive it differently, so let them play with what suits them.
