Filmed with one hand on my heart and tears suddenly running down my face.
Seeing one of my childhood guitar heroes play live for the first time, and hearing this song again many years and miles from where I’d first heard it, something hit home.
A realisation of how far I’ve come on my journey, and yet what a long way I have to go. Though I started on the guitar 20 years ago, it’s only in the last 2 years that I’ve realised how much music means to me and maybe how much has always been in me, waiting for me to find it.
I still struggle with calling myself a singer, songwriter, or storyteller, or really, feeling like I belong anywhere. But at least for half a day I felt less of a lost soul and more among kindred spirits at the Folk Festival. And maybe one day if I believe enough in me, and enough people believe enough in me, I’ll get to play on one of those stages :’)

I was there too, standing 2 rows in front of you. So pleased you recorded the full track. Incredible performance from an amazing man.
Nice :) yes, it was so good to be there. Glad I saw him at a festival instead of a sit-down venue, felt like the right vibe. And not too crowded (quite a few people I talked to had no idea what they’d missed … one of the greatest living guitarists!)
