The CM definitely looks harder than I expected. Though the reward for completing it is not even "pathetic", it's catastrophic. This makes people (new players in particular) feel like there is not much reason to play the more challenging content (Raids, Fractals, Strikes, even Dragon's End can be included in my opinion) over farming Drizzlewood Coast for 6 hours a day, or completing the Living World Season 1 story episodes. Even the achievements suck, they don't give anything other than some meaningless AP, no ascended gear, no special currencies, no gold, nothing. Hurts to say but even Raid CMs are more rewarding, both the first completion and the weekly CMs. I know that rewards can be buffed, sure, but I think releasing them in this state is just unacceptable. Plot twist: maybe it turns out that the CM chest has like a 10% chance of dropping the gen3 precursor and I'm actually wrong. I kinda doubt that though.
I agree big like. I also want to add that they took a dump on fractals CM to force people into strikes CM (this is my opinion)...for this bad bad reward. Also if the drop rate is this high 10%, the price of gen3 pre will drop badly...just like Mystic Coin did.
@@DemonicLemur It definitely is MUCH worse than a raid boss drop. For a single raid encounter you get: 2 gold (increased to 4 with Call of the Mists), some karma, a spirit shard, an exotic item (compared to one or two rares you get from a Strike CM), and most importantly: raid currency (which you can spend for ascended gear, Mystic Clovers or just infusions to make decent profit) AND a chance for ascended gear directly from the boss. And since the Strike CM is comparable to, if not harder than most Raid bosses, its rewards are just strictly worse. Also, even if you kill it first try, it takes quite long compared to Strikes NM or Raids, which means your gold per hour is gonna be very low.
Agreed on the crappy EoD rewards. Disagree on including fractals. Drizzlewood feels like a boring grind compared to fractals. And if you find a well populated map it's zero effort, in fact you'd better be really quick on the draw to even tag certain mobs for credit. It's great for T6 mats but fractals is fun, easy gold and not much time...once you get the AR 😬
@@neviander Fractal CMs specifically are (in my opinion) not rewarding enough. And T4 fractals, while they are very rewarding, are much harder for the average player than you might think.
One thing I think more people need to not just realise, but also internalise, is that rewards will always start lower. This is because it's easy to add more rewards later on, but if you have to nerf the rewards because they're too good, players will be super frustrated (I refer everyone to the minor nerf that was taking MCs away from Fractal CMs and how much people complained about that)
The fractal CMs rewards nerf had a big backlash because there was no reason to nerf them. If they wanted to nerf something they should have nerfed daily T4 fractals AND BUFF fractal CMs. Just as an example: Today T4's are almost twice as much gold per hour than CMs and CMs are way harder. And seriously, WHO cares if challenging content would give you good rewards for once?
I used to run dugeons daily and they found my first legenday, Twiligth. Then the rewards went botched and I ditched instanced content. Since then I only play PvP/WvW and OW, and so far I have the full legendary armor (in Heavy, but soon in Mid and Light), The Ascension, Conflux,Trascendence and 7 legenadry weapons. No reason for me to do Fractals and specially raids and strike missions: too much work for pennies... They can rest in pieces.
I cleared it yesterday with pugs without a voice comm. We took 2 hours to figure out the mechanics and execute them well enough to get the kill. It's honestly a very fun fight and i hope the next CMs mechanics will be on the same level or even better. But if the rewards stay like this i won't bother doing the CMs ever again, it's just not worth the time investment even if it's fun.
I'm just glad they're adding more ways to get LI. It means faster legendary armor/Coalescence/whatever they add as the next raid legendary. With full raid and CM strike clear after they're all out, you're looking at 30 LI a week. That's 5 weeks for Coalescence and first armor set, and 10 weeks for additional armors.
Well u know.. 1 or 2 LI / week is really a low amount but i guess better than nothin? lol... Harvest temple is weekly. Mai Train CM i'm not sure, probably also weekly LI?
now just gotta burst dps adds before the first greens of each phase blows up and it will be smooth sailing. (edit: actually that doesn't seem to be possible. the add stops taking damage until the green pops if dps is fast enough to potentially kill it to skip the green)
I attempted this with a blind pug group to see how far we can get. Our DPS was decent but our main issue was that we would always die on 1st or 2nd bomb phase because the players with the SAK kept putting it on the wrong bomb. The commander didn't help either with sticking with one side when determining which bomb to take out. Also is it just me or is Echo Scarlet supposed to immediately do her slam attack after breaking her first defiance bar instead of having the stunned/exposed debuff?
trying to get help deciding between specter harbinger or scourge for pve, any thoughts on pros cons and overall ranking between those 3 for overall pve content?
So is this another boss that more or less requires a scourge heal because of all the "unavoidable" damage? Only tried the boss a few times and people died left and right and looking at this clear it's pretty much the same but you got a vacuum Scourge that also pumps out shields.
@@Wistz90 Any work, but I think celestial/plaguedoctor works extremely well as you can do a lot of damage for free and still provide omega sustain to the whole squad. I played magi with mercy runes on progression because it completely shuts down any possibility of wiping to non one shot mechanics.

It’s easier to play most raid bosses compared to this CM. You need coordinated 9 players for doing greens and the laser part is random, that means everyone has to know mechanics and properly execute them. A single mistake and the team wipes. Most raid bosses have fixed roles assigned, which makes them much easier.
Honestly... the rewards make this kinda not worth it. I dont mind if there's no gold rewards but a title, for example, would be something the team could just add with zero effort required.
so, aoes are bigger, you have 2 blues and there is 1 new mechanic which is basically only done by 2 ppl and since you still get same position as normal laser you know where to stand ... this is CM ?
2 ปีที่แล้ว
You get 3 green circles, 3 players have to stand on it and they get a debuff for the entire fight. So you need 9 coordinated and alive players to win. If you get hit by attacks you get a debuff that increases incoming damage. There’s also the spread mechanic. The laser part is assigned randomly, everyone has to know the positioning. There’s quite a lot of wipe mechanics in this CM, not an easy thing to do without voicechat.
@ spread is already in normal, as i mentioned just bigger circles, nothing hard. The laser is not random, you similarly as in normal just stand on opposite side than laser circa in the middle , also the time till it fires is longer so you have plenty of time. Yes i forgot about greens, sorry is it hard to send 3 ppl on rotation to green circle while nothing else is really going on ? maybe surviving wth 9 ppl is considered "hard" but all of this can be dnoe without voice chat, you just assign 3 groups of 3 players to be together on green....
