That’s so sad the US is like that. NZ welcomes all races with open arms (for the most part) and are truly proud of our Maori heritage. I went to the states for 4 weeks and didn’t see any racial discrimination but obviously I don’t live there so don’t know the struggles. I did realise that on our whole travels we only saw 1 place that represented the American Indians and that was in Vegas of all places. We went right across country too. Such a shame.

The 'skinny white boys' didnt learn it because they wanted to respect maori culture. They learnt it because they are kiwis. The haka (and in fact a lot of maori culture) are built right into New Zealand culture, so every boy and girl learns it in school. And no self-respecing kiwi would ever turn away from doing a haka 😂
Ive noticed that a lot with american people, viewing it as one group trying to respect another group, when in fact were all just one big group 😁
