  • I had gender confirmation surgery with Dr. Brassard at Montréal GRS in April of 2022. This video is about what I experienced in the first few weeks as I adjusted to a schedule of dilation, pain management and recovery. I hope it helps if you are considering Gender Confirmation and Reassignment Surgery.

That's a good one. Thank you for taking the time to share your insights with us. Clearly the GCS journey is difficult for anyone taking that path. Despite that you seem to be glowing, and happy, and thriving, and that is just SO cool. It looks like your hard work and perseverance are paying dividends. Fabulous 👍😄

I salute your strength and determination. I wanted the full surgery but didn't feel I could manage the maintenance so I got zero depth, so I admire your efforts. I can relate to the Oxi issue, it sent me for a loop too. I took pics for over a month to follow the changes. Now I don't know what to do with them 🤣Thanks for sharing

Excellent, as always, Kate. Thanks so much for sharing. Although GCS is a way down the track for me (if at all), I'm going through the final red tape hoops in preparation for FFS in September (part 1) and November (part 2).
I particularly liked your recommendation towards the end about being kind to yourself and not comparing your outcomes to others. I'll be 58 in September and hope to keep my expectations in check. So thanks for sharing that advice.
Is also like to add how awesome the trans community can be with medical advice. Earlier in the year my prolactin levels went through the roof. This can indicate a pituitary tumor. I went online to trans forums and had multiple responses within an hour that it's a known side effect of cyproterone for trans women. Obviously, I went the proper medical channels to be sure - MRI scan, pituitary specialists and endocrinologist and, three months later confirmed what the trans community told me.
    Much love to you.♥️

Yes, I have a friend here who had the same pituitary scare. Thanks for watching and for sharing.

I'm in the system and looking towards an early 2025 procedure. Recovery, and my ability to do all the steps well, terrifies me. My therapist said she'd be more worried about me if I wasn't scared, which was reassuring, but I am spending a fair amount of energy trying to come to terms with what that first 6-8 weeks looks like and steeling myself for what has to be done. I'm glad I took some time to catch up on your channel today, because your description of the dilation process and how much time it takes in a day is a revelation. While I'm sure I would have found it out eventually, hearing this now completely changes my expectations. thank you!
