  • Build update on the construction of my Sling TSI Experimental Amateur built aircraft. This update covers the final connection of the pitot tube to the air lines in the left wing and then fitting and riveting the skins on the left wing. I then did a bit of rivet filling using a method used by Midwest Sky Sports on their Tuesday Tech Tip on Facebook. This method using Superfil and then thins it out with Rubbing alcohol, and uses a syringe with a 16 gauge needle. I ground the needle tip down with the scotch brite wheel on my bench grinder. I found the syringe and needle at Tractor Supply. I think this is a good method and will continue to use it. I then started sealing my right fuel tank with 3204 B2 tank sealant. I purchased the ready mix tubes and a pint of this sealant. I used the pint to pre-assemble some of the fittings before I mixed the tubes and started the main parts of the tank. I used three of the 3.5oz tubes of sealant doing the right tank. It will now sit for a week before I do a pressure test.

Thanks for watching. It’s been a fun process if not a little tedious at times.

Yes. It’s only good for a short period of time (six or nine months I think) so don’t get it too early.
