I feel like he slaps far too much. He has a trillion animations for diving/blocking and slapping the ball and like, two and a half animations to actually catch the ball or intercept it. Couple that with his often slow reaction speed, and good lord that's disaster.
I like to think about it less like soccer, and more like hockey, and the items are thrown in as interference penalties. Yes, that includes my game plan, too. I have gotten way too many points off of rebounds, crashing the net and storming the crease for this to be soccer.
Considering Boom Boom is incompetent in Mario Bros 3, New Supe Games, 3D Land/World. Of course he would be incompetent in soccer. I do love how he hits himself like "Come On Boom Boom you can do better than this" or sometimes throwing a Temper Tantrum. Wonder how Pom Pom would Fare. Would she Be better than Boom Boom
GIVE US KRITTER BACK! Edit:Now that we know we get DLC bring back Kritter, as a goalie 100% and let us choose between him and Boom Boom and people will only choose Kritter. However it would be even better to see Kritter as a playable character ngl
My Boom Boom either can't block a goal to save his life or decides that he wants to hold on to the ball for half the quarter even tho I have the entire team open for a pass.
I don't have Nintendo Online, but I have lost games where Boom Boom just has to pass the ball half a second sooner to the closest person on my team, then I can go up the field, and hyperstrike either tying the game, or pulling ahead. But no, Boom Boom waits for what feels like 15 seconds, my hyperstrike runs out, and my chances of beating the AI go to wherever the Boom Boom AI's talent is. The Void.
You may already know this but just in case, if you press B with a character while Boom Boom has the ball, he'll pass it to that character unless you're like right next to him (Tho sometimes he still keeps the ball for another 10 seconds)

in my unpopular opinion, the Boom Boom is my favorite Koopa besides the others but wow them being goalies is a miscast for me honestly, I miss the Kritters :(
When it's an online match, a coin will be tossed and depending on which face it lands on will determine which of the Boom Boom's gonna be prime Ter Stegen and which one is gonna be bald Ter Stegen
If you turn Paulina into a super defender you don't need Boom Boom. It would be nice if you could get gear for boom boom and he had his own stats you could dump the gear into
This is the exact reason why Kritter should have remained the goalie because at least he can put up a fight and not get knocked down so much.

Pom Pom would probably be the same, she was a goalie in Mario & Sonic in the 3ds version of Rio 2016 and she wasn't much better lol
