1 Chronicles 17:16 And David the king came and sat before the LORD, and said, Who am I, O LORD God, and what is mine house, that thou hast brought me hitherto?
The above scripture gives clear picture about the humility of King David. The nature of the human being is boasting about their family, wealth, education, their status ect... But Bible is just against that. That is why Jesus came to this world as a poor man,Born in a poor family, born in a village, did a low profession, moving with poor people ect. He did healed many sick people and commanded them not to tell this to anyone. One occasion people came to him to make him king, but Jesus disappeared from them. He did not have anything to boast about him in the world. Jesus said "learn of me, I am meek and lowly in heart.And ye shall find rest unto your souls. Matthew 11:29.
Jesus humbled himself, but the father exalted him to above all the heavens. Now a days people wants to boast themselves and wants to show them as great people among men. Even many preachers are trying to become famous. Like 6:26 Woe unto you, when all men shall speak well of you! for so did their fathers to the false prophets. The sign of false prophet is they will reveal themselves as a great preacher and performers of miracles. Often they advertise about them. Jesus said woe unto them.
In the key word ,David humbled himself and said I am not at all worthy for the present status and "who am I O Lord God".God dwells only in the humbled heart.
Isaiah 57:15 For thus saith the high and lofty One that inhabiteth eternity, whose name is Holy; I dwell in the high and holy place, with him also that is of a contrite and humble spirit, to revive the spirit of the humble, and to revive the heart of the contrite ones.
