I've seen a few of the reviews on this watch speaking about the loose crowns. Basically 99% of the people buying this watch are NOT concerned with that because they are not using it for aviation purposes. I have dive watches, pilot watches, field watches etc. and use none of them for that purpose. I simply like the look. I doubt a pilot relies on watches nowadays when they have all the technology right in front of them in the cockpit. It's a nice watch I'm certainly not worried about elapsed time, second time zones etc. Either you like the look or you don't.
That’s not the point. The point that it is shoddy workmanship and Bulova should do better on their QC and build quality.

Keep the cost down since it was not a full production WW2 watch. Keep the 8000 series movement and stiffen the crowns up. Now for A-11 they should complete against Hamilton A-11 by putting the 9000 series in it. I love this A-15 in my collection and it in full rotation with my other 16 watches. Great conversation piece when talking to other watch nerds.
Very cool looking watch Matt, I'd be ok with the 2 rotating internal bezels slipping now and again. Would cause me to be more interactive with the watch returning the bezel to be in line, but I don't have any OCD tendencies, so I understand the concern. I'm a Lume Lover though, so that would be my only negative with this watch.
Visually appealing but those 2 free wheeling crowns eliminated any possibility of me buying one.
Bulova should have done one of two things:
1) Make them push-pull so that when pushed in, the bezels are locked in place.
Or;
2) Make the crowns screw down in similar fashion to the pushers on the Seiko Flightmaster.
Let's add a 3rd & 4th option:
3) Make the crowns and/or the bezels have greater resistance to turning.
4) Combine option 3 with either 1 or 2.
What the heck, let's do a 5th:
5) Make both bezel crowns smaller & have canteen style caps to go over them when adjustments are completed.
This 💯. Any of these suggestions would have made this watch a lot better.
Same issue with the crowns. Should be screw down or simple tighter tolerance. Good review man.

Use a 9000 movement. Tighten the 2 crowns make them very stiff, add more color to dial, reduce thickness and lug to lug, and I would be all over this 👍💪
I recently purchased this watch and it’s my favorite in my collection. Sorry guys but if the bezel’s are moving while you’re wearing the watch. You got fat wrists…. I am not having that issue. Enjoy!
Great review Matt. I like Bulova as a brand specially some of their divers and lunar pilot. This particular watch would drive me insane with the lose bezels...wish they would screw down. Great looking but I will pass just to preserve my sanity 🙂

i love my watch, but i have to admit im not a user of many of the bezel fuctions of many of my watches so it doesnt botehr me at all.....i thinks its a cool ass - gorgeous looking watch...
