George did a brilliant job. He’s only 9 but he was so mature. Also he’s very tall for his age, as tall as those other boys who are two or three years older. Louis also behaved very well.
Did you notice Louis disappeared for quite some time? I was worried he might be running amok somewhere! But no he was taken out for a break & brought back for the end of the Service. Everything thought out so very well.
I thought George did a beautiful job and as far as I could see didn’t put a foot wrong. Even Louis managed to control his energy, the only thing that was shown was him yawning. I think he was able to be slipped away for a while, but brought back in for the actual crowning and the homage his father paid to the King. I couldn’t help but think that George was watching it all and thinking this will be me one day. It’s rare that we can look at something at such a young age and appreciate that exactly the sam etching will happen to you in due course
As an American, I found the Cornation to be amszing. King Charles was humble in his acceptance of his responsibilities to the people he will be king of. I was impressed by his inclusion of all the different people of the UK and Family of nations that make up your league of nations, sorry I didn't sleep wanting to see this moment in history. His family were so supportive. When William knelt to his Dad, kissed him and pledged hisself to him, was beautiful. And George was so grown up. Katherine, Charollet and Louis were just lovely. God bless Princess Anne's fether, cousin of the csndle.
I'm just looking at the US news, and they recorded our coronation, but what annoyed me was that they said H was there and didn't have a big part in the coronation. He had NO PART in the coronation & he was escorted back to a commercial flight. Then back to US and good riddance. He has lost all his standing in the UK & our Common Wealth. Now we're all hoping his father removes all titles from him TW and the kids.
@@aminajibril7651 so, so funny! Now that we have feather gate to back up candle gate, surely there isn't anyone left thinking their placement was simply a coincidence. Soft diplomacy and quiet power ROCK!
William's pledge to his father and his kiss on the King's cheek just had me sobbing. It was beautiful, respectful, loyal, and committed. So very regal yet familial and memorable. ❤
Seated to Harry’s left was the tiny figure of Princess Alexandra, at the end of the aisle. I watched Harry ignore her and gab on to Brooksbanks. The Princess tried to engage him, but Harry was oblivious of her. She gave up and looked frail and alone. Really rude behavior for a middle-aged man.
I saw the exchange between Princess Anne and Harry. Princess Anne was sitting in front of Harry and it was hysterical! Princess Anne’s Hat had a feather and it blocked Harry’s face throughout the service. It was another candle moment! I love Princess Anne! Good for her! Terri from Los Angeles!
Some of my favorite moments were Charlotte watching her brother then looking up at her dad- she was so proud. Catherine’s beaming smile after the gospel performance. Johnny every time. Little Louis behaving so exemplary and then his new style Royal wave on the balcony. I loved every minute these things just touched me especially.
That Major Johnny sure is one hunk of a man😋I didn't realize they grow such good specimens in Scotland😄😄I loved the moment when William fastened his father's cape/robe, and of course that beautiful moment when he kissed his Pa. It was such a beautiful and emotional ceremony, and I'm sure most everyone there was moved by the entire proceedings. No one does pageantry like the Brits.
I just adored the picture of just Charlotte and Louis. She turned a sweet face to her little brother. it looked like she was reassuring him and making him feel safe. They brought a tear to my eye. Such sweet children.
My favorite moment was Prince William kissing his fathers cheek. Such a lovely touching father son moment. I actually teared up. Little Charlotte holding her brothers hand as he looked up at her. Oh my heart! Such lovely children.
At that point in the Queens Coronation, Prince Phillip knelt to give his Oath, he then stood, touched the crown and, so everybody thought, kissed her cheek. The Queen flashed a big smile at him, a photo sent round the world saying about how happy she was etc. it was not for many years revealed what actually happened. As he leaned forward he said ‘Love the hat’, then kissed her.😊
@@marklivingstone3710that's quintessential prince Philip. Great sense of humour, only he can call a crown a hat. Wish he were still here with his lovely lilibet😅😂
William kissing his father's cheek got me and I cried. Two sons: the winner (with good values and a wonderful wife) and the loser (with bad values and a terrible wife)
The Waleses were perfection, the children impeccably behaved considering their ages, the whole ceremony was beautiful and I loved how Charles clearly sought to make the ceremony as diverse as possible within the confines of what ultimately has to be a Church of England ceremony that follows certain rules. The music was also brilliant, especially the Kyrie Eleison by Bryn Terfel. And I got chills when the choir was saying Vivat Regina Camilla - who would've thought even 10 years ago we'd be seeing this? I also thought Penny Mordaunt nailed it with her outfit - the colours perfectly matched the colours of the day, I love the sort of fern embroidery on her shoulders and headband, I love the cape, and I really salute her endurance, standing for around 2 hours holding a sword that apparently weighs about 4kg. She was so still and dignified!
Charles looked so emotional, and I believed he was thinking of his mother all during the Coronation. I remember reading that a few years ago, when he was asked about him becoming King, he said words to the effect that he didn't like to think about that time, because that would mean his mother was gone. I was so proud and emotional for him, because although I live in the US, I'm a proud monarchist, hailing from a Commonwealth country. I loved his moment with William, and I hope HMTK realizes who the son is who is there for him at all times. I saw Harry's over-the-top reactions when he was walking into the Abbey smiling and nodding to people sitting there, and I was wondering what the responses to him were...glad to know the people weren't buying into his hypocrisy. He looked like a fool. I started off watching the Coronation on CNN, but had to switch to another local channel because Harry's buddy, Anderson Cooper was relentless in talking about Harry, trying to make this day about him. He kept on wondering if he would be on the balcony, and trying to insert him into every conversation about the proceedings. Hopefully, TRF doesn't have any event coming up that will justify him returning to the UK...other than for his court case. They really need to cut ties with him and move on. KC has no excuses now not to take action.
As far as I know there is nothing in the calendar that Harry would be invited to, what the RF choose to do privately of course is unknown. I wonder if the King would invite them for Christmas, of course we will never know as the RF wouldn’t say anything. We would no doubt know if they didn’t invite the ingrates for Christmas as they would inform the whole world
Agree. I watched BBCAmerica and found the coverage wonderful. Was very disappointed that Anderson Cooper can't seem to read the room regarding Harry. He's not a working royal, he's not living in the UK,he's continuing to bad mouth his family. Why should any press be given him!
Oh groan... that would have been INSUFFERABLE having any comments from Anderson Cooper. IRRELEVANT mate! Yes, I too felt King Charles had his mum very much on his mind. She was a remarkable role model of dignity and commitment to service. Big shoes to fill, but it's great to see Charles putting his own stamp on the monarchy. I think it's been a huge success so far and is only going to grow in statue in the complex times in which we live. Lead by example, no matter what your status in life is. I LOVE IT.
I don't know what action Charles himself can take other than not inviting him over - which isn't likely to happen now because the invitations have only been for state events. I think we sometimes lose sight of what has already been done, such as having to drop their HRH's ('the' most important title), denying them their half-in, half-out request, their patronages, honorary military titles, christening at Windsor (Lili), balcony appearances, security - and so on. I think denying them their HRH's and their half-in, half-out option is the reason why they have been so very vengeful. The difference in having these things and not having them has been huge, both in terms of their 'star' appeal, treatment by political 'names' and their finances. Had they been HRH, part-time working royals, wherever they went, both in the US and beyond, they'd have been treated as if they are William and Catherine with all the glitz, security, and invitations that would entail. Much of it at the US's expense. That is what they envisaged when they decided to leave. The Queen cut the legs off of this, and in their attempts to punish her and the RF, H & M have damaged themselves.
Your comment about Hazbeen nodding and smiling to people as he walked into the Abbey, I think he’s using Megs trick . she can have a whole conversation with herself for the cameras, I believe Hilary Clinton does the same only she points to no one in particular with a surprised look on her face. Hazbeen is a fraud like his unlikeable wife. The sooner KC3 disowns him the better.
I wonder how South Park will react to all this. I HOPE they will have a program of the coronation. Surely they will because it's too momentous an occasion for them not to.
I loved it. That line reminded me of The Lion, The Witch, and The Wardrobe. There were 3 occasions when he said to serve and not be served. A good reminder to us all (who hold that as a value in life), and seeing the King in his underclothes/overshirt looking so small was true humility. I loved it and all the Pomp & Ceremony. I watched the live stream on BBC and Sky News, too, at the same time (from Australia). The red plume was Harry's candle.
Yes, the 'to serve, not to be served' was very powerful. That the next day was put aside and people encouraged to volunteer, spend time in acts of service to others, really drove this genuine nature of this message home. Well done King Charles! Camilla makes a great Queen. She's really growing into the role with her own stamp, which is lovely to watch.
All the music was sublime. I am amazed at the choir. They sang for over TWO HOURS! Those vocal cords and those diaphrams really had quite the workout. And it was perfect! Just perfect.
Charles is well known for his love of beautiful music. I’ve sung in choirs for years, nothing special only local ones, but I have sung some of the pieces that were in the coronation. Zadok the Priest does give you quite a workout, I agree.
So many memorable moments. I loved it when Camilla sat on her throne after being crowned and she turned to the left and beamed - then I realised that is where her son and daughter were sitting. I also saw a shot of Harry looking over in William's direction when everyone else was looking straight ahead.
Of course Camilla was beaming. She's finally got what she's wanted all the time. I saw an after the coronation shot of she and King Charles and he was in his suit with his medals without the crown but she still had her crown on. She probably brushes her teeth and goes to bed with it. Sorry, but I can't stand that woman.
I really have changed my mind about Queen Camilla, she married her first love, how many people has that happened to, they really love each other, she seems genuine and she makes the KING happy !
I didn’t want to comment on Harry in the same paragraph as our wonderful King. You are absolutely spot on and correct in your comments re Harry. Here in the UK I watched it on the BBC channel. His rather cocky swagger and grins as he walked down the aisle were met with stony faced looks and no warm smiles at all. Our wonderful supportive sister of King Charles, the Princess Royal did acknowledge Harry in the manner you described , almost to show Harry that she was dignified and above his antics, before she sat down with her right in front of him dressed in her grand regalia. He was very, very, insignificant and irrelevant at the Coronation and was not able to deflect anything away from the great occasion and place the spotlight upon himself 💐🌸🌺
In Dior no less. He could not be bothered to wear British tailoring on this one important day. Maybe he doesn't own any British made clothes anymore. He's moved on and should not expect a warm greeting from the people he has disrespected and basically disowned. Same to ya, is the reaction he is getting.
I was emotionally moved when KC had his robe and coat removed revealing a white frock(shirt, undershirt) before being anointed. It represented his stripping and being presented as a plain and ordinary man before God. Very very moving.
@The Vintage Read Show It'll be as hard to get used to as King Charles lol He has a new title too, but I've completely forgotten what it is & Google isn't helping.
🇬🇧thank you both. It’s so good to hear what other countries are saying. I’ve felt my country has been living under condemnation from the whole world ever since Harry and Meghan announced that not only was the RF racist but so was the entire country too. It’s been awful and I’ve been so happy to learn that many others have also seen what us Brits saw about Meghan and the appalling influence she’s had on Harry and what she is trying to do to the RF. I’m sure because she couldn’t be Queen she has decided to try and bring the whole institution down.
@@gilliantovey1014 that’s exactly how I’ve been feeling, it’s made me so angry at H&M - and at the people that believed them. Until the interview when H said they never said the word racist when their lies started to be questioned, what a fool that man(child) is. Then the way he walked into the Abbey, he almost strutted and tried to catch people’s eyes but they all looked away. If P Anne spoke to him you can be sure it was polite and quite banal. I very much enjoyed the service, it wasn’t too ‘woke’ or too ‘diverse’ and I’m glad the King included the Welsh bits and other faiths and the music and choirs were beautiful
@@MaryB-tx2xq really agree with you especially about welcoming other faiths into the service. Britain is multicultural and other faiths come with other cultures and have become part of the country. I believe it was right that the leaders of those other faiths were there to witness the King being crowned, but then I’m not of any faith so it’s not something I feel strongly about either way, I’m just accepting
Oh, another comment...as a Canadian, I was so proud of the RCMP officers, in their scarlet tunics, riding ahead of the golden coach on the beautiful RCMP horses gifted to the Queen over the years. And the newest mare, Noble, that was gifted to Charles recently. She was chosen for her gentle disposition, and when Charles met her, she nuzzled him. I believe that he's planning to ride her at the Trooping of the Colour this year. There's nothing that touches a Royal's heart like gifting them a horse. One of Queen Elizabeth's favourite horses was Burmese, another RCMP horse, that she rode for the Trooping of the Colour for 18 years, and was the mare she was riding when she was shot at.
Absolutely agree with you, the first time you could look back and see what people thought of such an amazing coronation, what the people thought, not what they THOUGHT we were thinking, we're right here, from all over the world, all countries, our voices about how much we loved it all. Long live Princess Annes feather though (just saying lol)
Since there's a five hour difference and I have terrible insomnia, i stayed up all night and at 58, I'm definitely too old for that lol. I thought the Coronation was amazing and the music was to die for. How sad though that Harry was merching Dior. Princess' Catherine and Charlotte looked beautiful in their floral diadems, the Queen was beautiful, King Charles looked so good in the golden Supertunica, Prince William looked as handsome as ever and all the children did an amazing job and were a delight to watch. I thoroughly enjoyed every minute of it.
I'm in Hawaii so I was up most of the night watching. It was such a joy, it was perfect in my opinion. Seeing the look on King Charles face when William made his pledge melted me❤ The love between them was obvious. Harry was just a side note, and Meghan wasn't there playing to the cameras, trying to make it about herself, and that was a welcome relief.
I am from America, but I loved every minute of the coronation. Here in America and online many people have been wondering about whether or not tiaras were going to be worn? I have heard many comments in the news today about how disappointed many people were because there were no tiaras. I believe that the princess of Wales headpiece was magnificent and reminded me of the crown of leaves that Greek Gods and goddesses wore. Perhaps it was chosen as a tribute to Prince Philip and his Greek heritage. According to Wikipedia, Theia was the Greek goddess of sight and vision, and by extension the goddess who endowed gold, silver and gems with their brilliance and intrinsic value. To me, Princess Catherine was the epitome of majestic beauty and a vision to behold wearing her elegant crown of symbolical leaves! She did looked like a goddess!
I think the days of flaunting the Crown Jewels are past. The Monarchy has to be careful not to alienate the people at a time when many are suffering a degree of hardship.
@@gillcawthorn7572 The Crown Jewels were all used in the Coronation ceremony. Tiaras are worn by those attending the coronation eg the members of the family, foreign royalty and the nobility but this time the king decided that they should not be worn because he wanted a less ostentatious ceremony snd members of the nobility were not invited except for those few lords who had a role to play in the actual ceremony.
I deeply appreciate your comments about the coronation of King Charles III and the magnificent, stately, beautiful, and, deeply inspiring ceremony which took place today at the great Abbey.. I send you the warmest of greetings from Sioux City, Iowa, USA. How blessed the UK is to have such a remarkable new king and all of his entire family which bring only honor and blessing to their people.
Lovely. In my opinion, no other Royal family comes close to how brilliantly the British monarchy does. I'm very inspired by their humility and focus on acts of service and support for the more vulnerable communities and our planet. All with such style, grace and charm. How Meghan ever believed she could take them on and 'win' being the self-absorbed, attention seeking, awful narcissist she is, IS HILARIOUS TO ME.
@@permissiontoshine I think if people really realised what King Charles has done over the years with the Princes trust, he has helped 1 million youngsters with setting them up with work, and money in loans, and people that are disadvantaged or there back ground has been troubled. As soon as he became King, he supplied the food banks for people in trouble or having financial problems, with large freezers, so more food can be stored. Many of our Supermarkets give foods and veg to these food banks and these freezers allow food to be kept longer.
As a history nerd I can guarantee that future historians will luxuriate in the impressions of normal people during the coronation. Thank you for your coverage, personally I fell in love with the huge feather in Queen Anne's hat that obscured the miserable Henry from the BBC Camera's! ❤❤❤
I was glad I barely saw the H-Bomb at all! My American PBS feed was good, quiet, no overtalking from blustery news blatherers. Good shots, great sound & music.
Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis holding hands, walking behind their parents as they entered the abbey was so sweet. It reminded me of how King Charles took care of his little sister.❤
The people sitting seemed like they all coordinated with each other because they all had their heads turned to the side looking at the door ignoring Harry walking by. Hardly anyone would look at him. You could see Harry trying to nod and smile and then give up when he realized nobody would look at him. The world is really supporting the RF.
It's not even about supporting the RF. It is about common decency. Every friend that were so pro-Harry or Meghan immediately become fidgety and unsure once I say "May you have a son and brother like Harry. I wish you a daughter and daughter in law like Meghan" Nobody wants people like that in their trusted circles
The music was spine tingling. I’m hoping the music will have been recorded so we can buy it!! The whole Coronation was splendid, the ‘meadow flowers’ showed the humbleness of King Charm lll.
I believe Neil Sean mentioned that the piece that Andrew Lloyd Webber composed is available to buy. I just read an article about it and want to share part of that below. “In all honesty,” said Lloyd Webber, “the King said the music gave him goosebumps and tears.”
OMG I truly hope a playlist will be put out by Buckingham Place in the exact order it was all played. I've already been spamming their website about it! Any profits they make from it can be funneled to one of the many charities, or several, they support. It was astonishingly beautiful, all of it.
Apparently Harry is now an ambassador for Dior. His suit yesterday was by Dior. Two hours after the coronation it is reported that Dior put this about. So his attendance was an exercise only in merching. He only does anything if he is paid
Dior was never on my list (can't afford it) but I'm amazed they chose Harry as a brand ambassador - he shares his wife's ability to make anything he wears look like an unmade bed. Rumpled can be sexy, but not on him.
Such a moving and brilliant Ecumenical Coronation Service. I loved how KCIII included so many different cultures and religions in the service. It really knocks on the head any claims the the RF are racist. I loved how William and George were involved in the ceremony. It was beautiful. And so emotional when William kissed his father after pledging his allegiance. I felt the emotion in The King’s face. Catherine and Charlotte’s outfits were so beautiful. I felt sorry for C&C as they had to sit and stand and move in those robes. They both looked so exhausted. Only the Brits can put on the Pomp and Circumstance before and after. And the view down The Mall of all the soldiers marching in synchrony with the shiny gold coach following behind was stunning!! Then the appearance on the balcony topped it off. What a wonderful day. 👍❤️❤️
The BBC did a great job. Regular abc, cnn, etc. we’re horrible! The commentators wouldn’t shut up and they were instigating the Harry/Megain situation instead of commenting on the beautiful coronation!
@@maryhurley5884 Why he trashed his family and country all for money no one forced him to he is millionaire living in the lap of luxury flying to and fro on private jets I feel sorry for people who are poor sick abused or homeless not an arrogant greedy liar
Yeah, I agree. I switched quickly to watching on The Royal Family's channel, so the commentary didn't take away from the amazing spectacle and powerfulness of the entire Coronation. Achieved to perfection IMHO.
I kept telling them to shut up. Like being on a road trip and your passenger won't shut up. I dislike Chistibe Amanpour. She was so negative and posing ugly questions. Talking about previous King Charles being killed and demise.
I was a little concerned that Charles looked like he was feeling unwell or overwhelmed at one stage. We hardly saw H on the BBC feed. Cheers to the red feather!! ❤️
Thought the same. He looked tired, old and very unwell. I had the impression they had put foundation on him and overdid it somewhat. He also looked quite unsteady at times.
I think we need to take a moment to consider that little Prince Louis behaved like a boy a decade older than he actually is. He was good as gold! I thought Prince George looked incredibly grown up and Princess Charotte looked like an angel. All three children did their parents proud. BTW, I personally did not miss any guest who wasn't there and I'm glad that one guest who WAS there was pretty much ignored. It certainly isn't hard to understand why Harry didn't get any smiles. His behavior is childish and makes him appear to be a spoiled brat who is consumed with jealousy toward his older brother because Prince William will one day be king and he will not. He can rant on and on about the number of sausages they each got when they were kids or the size of their bedrooms but the bottom line is that Prince William is the heir apparent to the throne and Harry is just a sad and bitter little man who was formerly known as prince.
I actually wondered why on earth did he turn up. He really made no effort. And his sulky face throughout just madd him look again, like the petulant, child he is. Apart from that, i was moved to tears by the whole occasion. Proncess Catherine, Charlotte & Sophie's dresses were so beautiful. Queen Camilla looked almost terrified for a moment when the Crown was being placed on her head, then visibly relaxed. I enjoyed your take on it, and reading all the comments from your subscribers. Thank you. My husband noticed The candles cousin, the feather😂.
Princesses Catherine and Charlotte looked like Narnian Queens. (In all the best ways) Regal, majestic, lovely. Just lovely. I half expected Aslan to step out at any moment.
There was one moment, and I honestly can’t remember if it was from the balcony, or after all of the Armed Forces in the garden gave the hip hip hooray, but when he looked at Camilla when they looked at each other, and you could see the love between them. I am an American, and I have gotten up early today to watch the coronation took a nap went to a family event, and now I’m watching recaps from my favorite bloggers. that looked between them was to me the cats meow for the day. But how beautifully done. Everything was awesome.
Love your commentary. I woke up at 3 AM here in the U.S. to watch. I loved the musical pieces. And what a Wow moment when we saw Catherine and Charlotte. Catherine is such a regal and graceful beauty.
Imagine what the music would have sounded like live in the abbey...the acoustics, just magnificent. KC, not surprisingly seemed very emotional. They were all beautiful and regal. God bless KC111 and God bless Anne's feather 😅
King Charles was appreciative of the reception he got at the balcony and was reluctant to go back in like you said. He was genuinely grateful. Wonderful people that were in the rain for hours to greet the King and Queen Camilla.
Thank you for reading out my comment! Harry's jealousy, envy and bitterness were written across his face. He also kept staring at William. Why bother coming if you don't even have enough respect to sing! So disrespectful.
The jealousy is beyond belief but that is a narcissist for you. He should follow his Aunt Anne's example. In the long run he would be better off. Will's wing man and have the respect of his country. ..Possibly a better wife...
Beautiful words of welcome …. Indeed. The King of kings indeed. So solemn yet magical. The music …. Oooh it’s out of the world. The songs and stirring music just completes the picture of beauty, solemnity, and deep deep meaning of the whole occasion. The music, the sound and colours of the costumes and uniforms …. Just made everything superbly magical. Thank you for this report of Anne and Harry …. We would have missed that.
The look in King Charles’s eyes as he sat looking out of the carriage window just before leaving for the Abbey, the 14 year old boy in the beginning of the coronation, Queen Camilla nervous expression as she was crowned, listening to my mother and father sing along to all the hymns and telling my daughter about my fathers years as a alterboy and practically over a weekend transitining from lead soprano in the boys choir to bass!
The whole Coronation was truly amazing, I mean, everything but I really must mention The Lord President of the Privy Council, Penny Mordaunt. Her dress was beautiful as she stood for about an hour, without moving, holding the Sword of State in front of her. She was magnificent, in my opinion.
1:02 The moment that got me was when Zadok the Priest started with those strings playing rising to the big crescendo and that high notes rang out by the choir. And the when the screens were removed with the choir still singing the last few “May the Kong live forever” and seeing Charles still kneeling in his white tunic looking so small and humble as if he was just being reborn!❤
@@marklivingstone3710 He was told around his 7th bday. That is traditional for the RF. However, Catherine & William held off on the start of his formal training.i read that it will start this year when he turns 10 and will build up slowly over the years.
Yes, Lt. Colonel Johnny is, apparently a heart throb now to many ladies. Hearts will have been a-flutter for Johnny. It was a beeeeutiful ceremony. Everything about it was just so magnificent. The music, the dresses and uniforms, the clergy…..just everything. After the anointing when they moved the screens away, I thought the King looked so humble kneeling, in his shirt, between the two bishops. Lovely, poignant moment. Long live The King and Queen. 🇬🇧🏴🇦🇺
After listening to main media I was not sure, I was really uncertain that Charles had called this right. I shouldn't have worried. Very quickly I realised how safe a pair of hands Britain and the commonwealth are in. I watch Charles grow into a King with each section of the ceremony. I wasn't convinced that a coronation was necessary. OMG so wrong. As for Camila she won my heart. If there was ever a woman that to me wasn't rushing down the aisle to be Queen. It was Camila. Her human response was just so enchanting. Camila looked at him while he was receiving his finary and caught the eye of one of her girls, as if to say.... well, I better have a handbag full of fountain pens. I loved it. Every moment of it. Thank you for your wonderful insights. 😊❤🎉🎉
The coronation was magnificent. The Pomp & Ceremonial significance of the Coronation was very deep and meaningful and got me teary eye. William kissing his father was great. I dislike the fact that the Royal women did not wear tiaras. That Greek Olympian head dress was not enough My favorite person was Princess Charlotte. She was adorable.
Agree with all your lovely points except perhaps the tiaras. I thought Catherine looked stunning and although I too wld have loved to see the Tiaras, I really appreciate that Catherine chose a uniquely beautiful option. The juxtaposition of the old customs vs the new was perfectly entwined throughout.
I am from the U.S. and watched bits and pieces of the coronation because it is history being made. However, I forwarded through much of it to the coronation which I was interesting. I thought the king seemed a couple times like he was holding back tears. I'm glad his family could be there for the occasion. Getting your take on things is enlightening.
A couple of cute Prince George moments. After the salute by the troops George was helping the King inside with his robes, George glanced over his shoulder and I wondered if he realised this would be him one day. Also he was obviously sharing with a fellow page what was about to happen with the fly over!
Thank you! I watched the coronation with my 84-year-old mum on ABC Australia, which I think was piggy backed off the BBC coverage, and when Harry walked in, my mum & I both said, omg, did you see that, they all turned their head away from him! We saw it as clear as day, and I have been wondering why there has been no commentary on this via TH-cam or other social media. Glad I’m not going crazy 😛
I didn’t see any interaction between H and Anne but I saw him walk in and it was so clear that people were ignoring him, just turning away. He seemed to strut down the aisle but it didn’t help because he made minimal impact.
I loved every minute of the coronation. I noticed Harry rarely watched the proceedings, he was there for reasons known only to him. I dont believe he was there for his dad or the Monarchy.
If he had actually been there out of respect for his dad he might have bothered singing God save the King. He was clearly there to try and stay relevant for Netflix and to merch a French fashion house. Shame on the vile traitor 🤬
@@suegray6284 I had not realized he was merching Dior. No British designers for him! He might as well stay in the US, only his father really cares to see him. Maybe his Aunt Anne.
this is a new level of low for harriet. if he couldn’t even respect his Father as King by singing it, he should just give the titles back, even the prince title.
Pretty Yende (the opera singer from South Africa) in a magnificent yellow dress performing 'Sacred Fire' was wondeful. King Charles who appreciates music must have loved that. He must have been rinsed when the ceremony was over, I certainly was. What an incredible day 👑
This is the next day. We were away, but managed to see the whole thing at our motel.......we took fixings for Martinis....no fools us! I love the quiet warm look between the King and William, as his son laid the collar over the golden coat. Obviously the singing, and those magical male soloists. Most of all? The cheerfulness, and love from all those soaking wet people......I'm English to my back bone, but live here in Queensland, and just felt that I was one of them, waving and cheering. ....Giving this kind ,careful and thoughtful man all honour and respect. Long may he live, and have that loving woman by his side. What a very sensible move to shorten the service. So many people just don't have the mental stamina these days to concentrate for a long time. Charles is such an effortlessly elegant dresser usually, it was a little uncomfortable to see the historic dress up, even while understanding the reasons behind it. I am so glad we stayed up to see the whole thing.from the UK film crews, not the Aust. ones.
The entire day was so beautiful! Britain needs to be so proud of the Royals, stand up to those who don’t want them! Ridiculous People world over love them! I am so proud of being part of the commonwealth! Hugs from Canada 🇨🇦
I watched the BBC feed of the Coronation. It was so good and kept it’s focus on the King and Queen, but snippets of The Wales’s and their children were just divine. Everyone behaved beautifully. This was The Royal Family at their best, and showcased their commitment to their people. Apart from the obvious scowly Prince, who clearly didn’t want to be there. Actually 5 year old Prince Louis behaved better, yawns and all. And a special note on Prince Louis, if a newly 5 year old, can memorise and sing both verses of God Save The King… how pathetic does it look that an adult former actress whinged that she struggled to learn it 😂😂. It was awesome and I’m so glad I stayed up for it. Love your insight Shauna ❤
The thing I noticed, and I assure you I’m no apologist for Prince Andrew, at least Prince Andrew had the courtesy and respect to stop and bow his head to the tomb of the unknown warrior. Prince Harry just walked past checking all down the Abbey to see who was looking at him and trying to be the fun guy with his cousins.
I really enjoyed it but, I must say W & K with the children were amazing! Just the beauty of K & her crown along with the dress. Then to have her daughter with her dress & head piece. What a delight to see such a caring girl at her age. Louis, what else, but what a charmer. To have their father be the next king & to experience this day with their grandparents is simply amazing! I thought W did honor to his Dad, the king. So many people gave this occasion so much pride to this historical event. I kinda laughed with Princess Ann's hat with H behind! H took off fast because without his cousin's around, he would of been by himself. So, I am glad all went well!
I’m actually glad Louis made it to 5 yrs old before the coronation, if he was any younger he wouldn’t have remembered it. He’ll be happy he was there in the future 👑❤️👑💙
I forgot about the 14 yr old at the beginning of ceremony, because there were so many beautiful elements. Amazing - I think William's pledge to his father and the kiss on the cheek was so heartfelt, but I have to say I loved seeing on the Pages on the balcony with the working royals. The whole pagentry was amazing, we were watching all the soldiers from when they left the train station.
The establushing shots in the Cathedral were magnificent, stupendous, almost as if the camera was making love to the architecture! 😘 😘 😘 A brilliant production! Colours and grace! 🙏😊❤️
Your talking about Major Johnny reminded me of the old (1960's) cartoon postcard where a woman asks a rugged, kilted Scotsman: "Excuse me, my man, but is anything worn under your kilt?" to which he replies: "Naw, naw, dear, it's aw in perfect workin' order!" That's how I envision our Major Johnny! 😉🤭💕💕🏴
I am American, and a Royal fan. The coronation was absolutely amazing......the processional, the messages, Williams pledge was so touching, and the music...the music took all to a higher plane. You could tell Camilla was nervous but ahe did beautifully. Catherine was breathtaking! Charlotte and Louis were adorable, and prince George looked so grown up and did a beautiful job as a paige. I loved the balcony scenes......everyone was so happy, and having the paiges with them I think was a beautiful way to show thr blending of the families..Of course Louis stole the show! He is so darling! I cant think of any part of the coronation that I didnt enjoy and I was moved by it all
Prince William pledging his allegiance lijf en leden was the highlight of the coronation. I thought KC III would break into tears. Pretty sure many of us did at home. 🤧😭👑
I am moved with the whole coronation - it's humble, enough glitch without too much, very inclusive, and the music & the choir were incredible soothing for my soul. Well done!
On the balcony, how the paige's were each side of the K & Q, and how the P's of W stood with smiles toward his father and father-in-law like they were standing back go allow it to be his time and his occasion, not theirs as a whole. All through the coronation, the K looked so nervous, but to see his oldest son being so pleased for him was a lovely thing to witness.
OH can I just mention re George.. he was absolutely wonderful and I just adore the way that Major Johnny kept a keen eye on him and the other pages.... i wasn't enjoying the eye candy of course.
@@thevintageread and what a fine father he would be. I swear shave about 40 years off my age, a couple of dress sizes and functioning ovaries i might have flown there and fainted so that he could save me.
I believe it was Anne, the Princess Royal, that put that smile on Harry. I found a few pictures on the Daily Mail that show Anne greeting Harry. Favorite moments? Quite a few: 1- the moment Prince William pledged allegiance to the king and looked into his father’s eyes. 2- Prince Charlotte holding Prince Louis’ hands 3- Watching King Charles receive all the attributes of power, wisdom, etc. Each piece symbolizing a value, and watching the king taking it all in. 4- Prince Anne’s red feather will be hard to forget. Thank you feather!!!
On the BBC coverage, Harry (mercifully) barely figured. The focus was on the King and Queen - entirely appropriately. By general agreement Penny Mordaunt (sword bearer, currently Leader of the Commons and Lord President of the Privy Council) looked and played her part to perfection. That sword weighs 8lbs! As a Labour MP quiped afterwards "the Penny is mightier than the sword"
Our late Queen appointed her to her position two days before she died, I believe. A very wise woman who did more for women than we can truly appreciate. She knew the role Penny would have to carry out (first woman to do so) when she passed. She obviously saw something in her. Great choice.
Princess Katherine and Charlotte had a moment singing together. I love seeing the continuity of father to son to grandson. A beautiful coronation .
It was!
Princess Catherine.....with a "C"....is the correct form of the Princess of Wales given name.
@@wyzolma99 you are correct she is Catherine, and William has never ever called her Kate, and neither has her family she has always been Catherine
I thought George will stand next to Charles on the balcony cos he is soon to be king after his dad
Don’t forget Charlotte. She is so amazing. She seems to want to get everything right and she loves waving at the people.
@Gillian - yes, I thought that was perfect for a just turned 5 yr old. Probably went and had a snack etc.
I loved that Princess Charlotte's dress was so beautifully designed and crafted. Compare this with the lack of care for her dress at H&M's wedding.

Cousin of the candle!!!! You are hilarious.

Little Louis behaving so exemplary and then his new style Royal wave on the balcony. I loved every minute these things just touched me especially.
Oh Johnny!!!!
Johnny indeed...wow!
Cathrine was clearly thrilled by the performance! When we saw that I realized the feeling was mutual!

Catherine was magnificent! She embodies elegance and royalty.
Penny did an amazing job and I thought her outfit hit the right note too, sort of medieval in look, but modern as well
OMG yes, especially Penny Mordaunt's outfit. So well thought out.
How she stood so long with that sword, I have no idea, she had done some strengthening exercises, I believe,
The part when the choir sings Vivat Regina gave me chills also and when I watched QE2s too and I am a American!

Of course Camilla was beaming. She's finally got what she's wanted all the time.

Yes that would be annoying!
@@maryhurley5884 Why he trashed his family and country all for money no one forced him to he is millionaire living in the lap of luxury flying to and fro on private jets I feel sorry for people who are poor sick abused or homeless not an arrogant greedy liar
@@christineduffy3113 well said!! 🇨🇦
The British press!!! ( In H's voice).
Not unexpected, in my opinion.
Thought the same. He looked tired, old and very unwell. I had the impression they had put foundation on him and overdid it somewhat. He also looked quite unsteady at times.
Did anybody notice that Harry did not even join in singing "God Save the King"
Yes. It was very noticeable. He is a jerk.
prince William would be very mad by the time he aware of that.
🤗😊💗
I thought that the feather in Ann's hat deserves a Knighthood Well Done.
I thought the day was stunning. George certainly did a wonderful job, as did all the children. The music was amazing.
I bet Charlotte will grow up to be a beautiful woman, inside and out, just like her mother.
Imagine what the music would have sounded like live in the abbey...the acoustics, just magnificent.
KC, not surprisingly seemed very emotional. They were all beautiful and regal. God bless KC111 and God bless Anne's feather 😅
😂 Yes! I wish I was there, the sound would have been sensational!
@The Vintage Read Show I wish I could have been there too...thanks for your commentaries 💛
One of the commentators said that King Charles chose all the music.
@margaret sharratt yes I heard that too...great taste KC...not surprising, hes an elegant guy
He loves his music and has always been on hand to advise what might be played at royal events
Everything was as it should be ... Just extraordinary!!!
As the king was about to be anointed behind that wonderful screen, my 9 year old grandson commented “You’re never too old to make a den”.
Prince George did wonderfully job.
Great comment!
I agree.
Er darf nicht!😂
The jealousy is beyond belief but that is a narcissist for you. He should follow his Aunt Anne's example. In the long run he would be better off. Will's wing man and have the respect of his country. ..Possibly a better wife...
Swooning indeed!!! William’s pledge to his Father got me!!! It was a splendid Coronation!! Well worth getting up at 5 in the morning for!!
I adored the music and i pray God will save the King
Thank you so much to the RF and the people of the UK for sharing with us that amazing regal event. A once in a lifetime experience!❤❤❤🇵🇭🇵🇭🇵🇭
I think Queen Camilla's 'nervousness' was more about the awkwardness of the crown - it got put on slightly skew.
What amazing stories! X
That address by the child was special and unexpected.
It was!
So confidant!
The whole Coronation was truly amazing, I mean, everything but I really must mention The Lord President of the Privy Council, Penny Mordaunt. Her dress was beautiful as she stood for about an hour, without moving, holding the Sword of State in front of her. She was magnificent, in my opinion.
Agree with that, she was wonderful. Well done Penny
She was! 👏
Correct Harry was ignored politely ignored
It was wonderful every min.
Yes! 🤗
George did do an amazing job. No sense of awkwardness at all!
I’ll be curious what his reaction is when they sit him down and explain his dads next, then it’s his turn.😱
@@marklivingstone3710 He was told around his 7th bday. That is traditional for the RF. However, Catherine & William held off on the start of his formal training.i read that it will start this year when he turns 10 and will build up slowly over the years.
It was a memorable event that I was happy to witness. So happy to have been front row and center.
The BBC coverage was excellent. They also provided a copy of the order of service which was great to have to follow along.
The Pomp & Ceremonial significance of the Coronation was very deep and meaningful and got me
teary eye. William kissing his father was great.
I dislike the fact that the Royal women did not wear tiaras. That Greek Olympian head dress was not enough
My favorite person was Princess Charlotte. She was adorable.
Appearantly Tiaras are not worn for functions before 5 pm
Agree with all your lovely points except perhaps the tiaras. I thought Catherine looked stunning and although I too wld have loved to see the Tiaras, I really appreciate that Catherine chose a uniquely beautiful option. The juxtaposition of the old customs vs the new was perfectly entwined throughout.
Ifor me, t looked like a new fashion tiara
@@paulacostescu1041 I thought the same
I liked the tiara/headdress
Glad you got to see it!
I watched BBC and immediately turned to my husband and said, they are ignoring him. There were definitely no smiles.
I didn’t see any interaction between H and Anne but I saw him walk in and it was so clear that people were ignoring him, just turning away. He seemed to strut down the aisle but it didn’t help because he made minimal impact.
I fell in love again with Catherine.
I loved every minute of the coronation. I noticed Harry rarely watched the proceedings, he was there for reasons known only to him. I dont believe he was there for his dad or the Monarchy.
@@LittleOldCatLady-qm8mj Spot on! It's all about money for him and his grifter of a wife.
Allegedly H was there to get paid for wearing a wrinkled Dior suit; if his children do exist I hope both treat him the way he’s treated his family
Ridiculous
People world over love them!
I am so proud of being part of the commonwealth!
Hugs from Canada 🇨🇦
The United Kingdom should be very proud of the Coronation.
Thank you. I had forgotten what the tomb represented.
I was in the UK at the time in Scotland and watched the BBC coverage. It was truly AMAZING. A wonderful coverage🎉❤❤
I cant think of any part of the coronation that I didnt enjoy and I was moved by it all
Im so glad you mentioned the frosty reception Harry got as he entered the abbey, because I’ve been waiting for someone to home in on it.
Prince William pledging his allegiance lijf en leden was the highlight of the coronation. I thought KC III would break into tears. Pretty sure many of us did at home.
🤧😭👑
Ugly cry,here.😭😭😭
I really liked when William was helping put vestments on his father. It was a beautiful and sweet moment.
I love the part when William pledged his allegiance to his father! Waving from the Philippines!
It was great! Here in Italy we love the Royal Family and I find King Charles very empatic and elegant. You’re videos are the best, brava!
I am american and i got up at 4am. I am a classical trained musician (flute and bassoon). I loved the music. Handel is one of my favs.
Yes so is my husband, he loved it! Imagine being there… I would love them to put out a Coronation album!
I agree, the beginning was perfection. One of my many favorite parts.
OH can I just mention re George.. he was absolutely wonderful and I just adore the way that Major Johnny kept a keen eye on him and the other pages.... i wasn't enjoying the eye candy of course.
Of course not… you were just checking the kids were looked after! 😂😂
@@thevintageread and what a fine father he would be. I swear shave about 40 years off my age, a couple of dress sizes and functioning ovaries i might have flown there and fainted so that he could save me.
I felt so emotional watching the King kneeling in just his shirt, it was intimate and vulnerable…
I believe it was Anne, the Princess Royal, that put that smile on Harry. I found a few pictures on the Daily Mail that show Anne greeting Harry.
Favorite moments? Quite a few:
1- the moment Prince William pledged allegiance to the king and looked into his father’s eyes.
2- Prince Charlotte holding Prince Louis’ hands
3- Watching King Charles receive all the attributes of power, wisdom, etc.
😂 I thought she was fantastic, a great part of the ceremony!
Love it!
Our late Queen appointed her to her position two days before she died, I believe.
A very wise woman who did more for women than we can truly appreciate. She knew the role Penny would have to carry out (first woman to do so) when she passed. She obviously saw something in her. Great choice.
