My ethnicity is very relevant since being Chinese I am supposed to support Chinese players by all means, not even mentioning Dima is not really the strongest players. Me being supportive to him in this case is to put aside the national pride and look forward to the new players who can challenge the Chinese Domination for world champions.

I think Timo Boll is one of the most talented players of this era. But I think he should consider to adjust his forhand topspin for more power. I noticed quite a difference between Dima and Timo, even though Dima hasn't the fastest Topspin. This of course is complaining on worldclass level. But I think that s the reason why Boll never won Worldcup or the Olympics...

I read in Ma Long's page before that he is close in surpassing Wang Liqin's record as longest ranked 1 holder... but I read somewhere that Wang Hao held it the longest..

It looks like Ovtcharov switches grip on his paddle when goes from BH to FH and vice verse. Didn't think it was possible at these super fast speeds and be that good.
His not switching grip in the way you think it just looks that way .slow the video down and you see he keeps the same grip it's an illusion!!! That's not to say other didn't or don't. Said her once displayed the EXTREME difference in his grip changes at times showing his forehand grip favouring a very much unorthodox and actually shunned against breach of the most basic practice in terms of agreed to grip methodology. When playing a forehand the finger is parallel to the base of the rubber forming a 90° angle in relation to the thumb. Said her explains the LIKED to extend his finger another 10-20° meaning he would play a forehand at between 100-110°. I am surprised he got away with it as it breaches the most fundamentals of grip practice also considering it is the first thing that is taught and reinforced again n again. He must of always been able to play orthodox GroupWise and probably used his favoured grip whenever it suited.

Well I'm not Asian, I'm from Germany and proud of Dima. But I'm also realistic and don't think he's the best player in the world, regardless whether he's no1 in the world ranking or not. Best player is still Ma Long to me.

For once I will not comment on the insupportable ho-aah but notice how Ovtcharov's forehand has a lot of waist rotation but no elbow snap and not very noticeable wrist snap.
I think he has both (wrist and elbow snaps), they are just very small when he swings against a block. Against long backspin and other easy balls he loops with almost straight arm.
