    Of all 5 bikes I'd always recommend a Ninja 400 or R3 for beginners. JDM bikes are absolutely bulletproof reliable. Imo the Ninja 400 or R3 are the best looking bikes in this group.

      not trying to be that dude, but JDM means things that are exclusive to japan. like, the older cbr600rr is not jdm, but the new cbr600rr is jdm, as it is only sold in japan. japanese domestic market.

      Wait, so you’d recommend those bikes to beginners based on looks alone? Lol. They are great for any rider but your comment was funny.

      @Frank_Torre ปีที่แล้ว +4

      @@dancarlos1216 You're missing my point entirely. Either of the bikes in this group would be great bikes for ANY beginner. It's just imo the Ninja 400 and R3 look the best. And if you've rode as long as I have, you'd know if you walk out to go for a ride and don't like the looks of your bike. Then you're immediately in a meh mood about the ride. So yes given comparable performance, the looks of the bike will always be important on choosing one.

    Im probably out of the loop but I personally have a second gen RC390 with 6034 miles on it.
    I bought the bike brand new and it has given me zero issues. I enjoy the package I get on the bike vs all the other in the competition, I have modified it a little bit but the big mod is the FuelxLite auto tuner, as I put on a full system it needed a fuel tuner as they do run a tad lean from factory. And man is the bike such an amazing little rocket for my daily commute, canyon carving, occasional track day and some highway here and there! Like HeroRR said it stands apart with the high end tech and exclusive features which I haven't even gotten into! Full TFT, compression and rebound customization in the front forks and comp and damping in the rear shock! It also has Abs AND tsc which you can disable both in the real wheel. As well as the backlit controls, as well as a lean sensitive IMU. And the looks of the bike as well are a huge factor, there just isn't any other bike like the 390 on the road today!

    I've always wanted a sportbike from one of the big 4 Japanese brands. I ended up buying a Duke 390 because I was able to get a pretty good deal from the dealer. It lasted me for 4500+ miles with no problems until I sold it. I was in the market for a motorcycle again and I wanted to get a Yamaha R3 as it had always been my dream bike but a dealer contacted me about a Ninja 400 so I ended up getting that and I am glad I did because the Ninja 400 is probably the best beginner sportbike. However I think the Yamaha R3 looks the best but looks are subjective of course. I find that the Ninja 400 is much more stable on the freeways then the Duke 390, but the punchy acceleration on the Duke 390 makes riding local streets very fun, and the TFT display was really nice. I'm curious as to how the RC390 would have been being a fully faired sportbike. Also, I'm curious as to how the CFMoto 300SS would compare to these five sportbikes. It has a nice TFT display, as well as a bunch of cool features that aren't found on the Japanese sportbikes, and I really liked the 2022 white/blue colors.

      @@HeroRR I agree with you. I was just thinking in terms of introducing the public to those models like you did here. I love what you’re doing. If I had the time I would do it. I have driven some thumpers - 650's - and they are not fun, I would never have a bike less than 2 cylinders, sure, I liked my KZ-1000P, but surly, my old CB-350 twin was less of an issue than a thumper; any thumper. Maybe, as I think about this... as I get older, something that is less of a problem becomes more desirable. Less vibration, better. Hands down :-) Less weight, but the vibration is still low, that would be good :-) Let me try one & I may trade in my HD, but, so far, I have not had a better ride on anything yet. HD is The Best Ride. Period. I have been driving something for the last 5 decades, from a D-6 CAT, a dump truck, cargo van, bus, cooler truck in S.F. I have been there & done it. Yes, I have even owned an RD350 (they were just before the RD400 King of the 2 strokes) I like bikes, but safety has always got to be in mind. Notice, I didn't say "Everyone's safety" ... That was to be Implied. When anyone is on the road, safety should be first in mind. Watch for children & pets, as well as for the Elderly. All move slowly, & need extra help at time. My HD for the Green? Maybe?

  • @nicholasnarcowich9163
    @nicholasnarcowich9163 ปีที่แล้ว

    Most of my mc had just one headlight, & that was a problem if it burnt out. But, until my Harley Sportster, they didn't, & with the HD, I had to replace the socket & some wires too... NOW, LED!!! Cooler :-)

    QUESTION? What about the Required Maintenance Schedules? I saw one bike that required a top end engine service every
    6,000 miles at $500-$600 a pop & that don't include downtime? After a bike, the helmet/gear, & insurances ... Umm, it would
    be a kick in the pants to have expensive required maintenance & the Sales Rep ain't gonna tell ya this until you sign the deal!

      Yeah, I tend to agree & I can back my feelings as I saw someone buy one of the Chinese bikes for like $2000 & it
      wasn't too long before bolts were vibrating out & other problems as well. I think he would up w/ it sitting in the
      yard w/ no parts value or anything ; just a couple thousand dollar lesson. I'm not able to buy right now but as
      I save I'm looking very hard..... Honda, Yamaha, Kawasaki are all brands I trust & each has it's pros. If I bought
      today it would be a Yamaha or Kawasaki out of the above bikes but I like the Honda 500's.... there's 2-3 bikes
      in the lineup & I liked them even though they seemed kinda heavy, but they were less to insure than 600's &
      something that would take a while to grow out of whereas a 300-400cc bike would have ya hungry pretty
      soon after buying it. Thanks for the post.... peace

    • @Fearless154
      @Fearless154 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      The CBR500R is a very odd motorcycle. It doesn't make much sense as a sport bike for beginners or as a sport bike at all; it is ridiculously overpriced for what it is; the engine is very slow to rev and doesn't like the redline, kicking the budget at 7000 rpm despite revving to 10000 rpm, so you constantly need to short shift it; combined with its short gearing, it is not a good engine for a sportbike. Also, the chassis and overall feel of the bike are sluggish, and it's nowhere near as capable as what a small cc sportbike should feel like. and, despite claiming 47 horsepower, it is actually slower than the Ninja 400 and R3.
      CBR300r makes so much more sense. Yes, it is old, but it is extremely cheap, fun, and agile, as small-cc sport bikes should be. Honda just needs to update it and ditch the CBR500R, or make a new engine and chassis for their beginner sport/naked bike.
      This Honda 471cc motor and chassis are way more suited for the cb500x with that package; everything clicks together and feels superb, but it's very underwhelming and overpriced on the cbr500r.

    I have to applaud Honda for not following along like a sheep, but putting an analog tach on the CBR. Wish they had also used a clock speedo. It is possible to see a needle peripherally , where with a number you must look AT IT to register. People I know in auto repair are getting out because each window regulator has it's own computer, and when a window stops working, people are outraged at repair prices. Absolutely loved this video. I am thinking about getting a motorcycle. I am 18 and 5’6.5.
    I’m looking at getting a motorcycle but I want something that I can handle and really learn on. I like the Honda CBR the most as it is smaller and less powerful. I have only driven a dirt bike from time to time. So I want to be a safe as possible, but I want to try the freedom that a motorcycle offers.
    What do you guys think of the Honda CBR for my size and age. I am very mature for my age but that doesn’t mean I don’t have my moments where I will push the bike. I want something that is entry, and tame but fast enough that it is safe 😂. The Suzuki seems so slow that it’s unsafe.
    Anyways my biggest goal is to be safe and still have fun. I don’t care about having the fastest or coolest looking bike. With that in mind would you guys agree that the CBR is best for me? Any feedback would be appreciated!

      @davidnovohradsky8871 ปีที่แล้ว

      Also I may want to go to the track in the future. Would I be limiting myself with a CBR? I really don’t want to much power and I want a bike that is smaller so that I can confidently ride. Maybe the R3. Any feedback would be awesome.
      My biggest think is I want to learn how to ride a motorcycle on something that is tame and safe for motorcycle standards. I could always switch bikes but would I end up just switch rather soon?

    There were a time, when KTM RC250 was in sale in Japanese market, but not now.
    *Kawasaki ZX-25R, Honda CBR250R are also in a same engine size category, but CBR250R have been discontinued in Japanese market.
    My opinion is ... just choose your best liked bike with not very much horse power.
    You will end-up with few likes and dislikes of the bike you chosen, anyway.

Meanwhile, there's 300cc sport bikes destroying 1200cc+ cruisers.. it's not just about power. It's also about the power to weight ratio and the design of the body That's being propelled

    Fantastic video man. I’ve owned the 2022 R3 and now own the 2023 KTM RC390. You can’t go wrong with either. The r3 is smoother and the rc390 is thumpier and more aggressive . Both are so fun, but I feel like the Yamaha is more forgiving where as the KTM will reward you for keeping it where it wants to be in the rev range

    Unfortunately, the CBR300 and GSX250R are just not worth the money. You'll Always end up wishing you went for one of the other choices. For my money, i'd say the Kawasaki, closely followed by the KTM. But i'd recommend the Z400 or 390 Duke for any beginner (I know this is a sport bike list, but still ) The truth about the "beginner sport bikes" is that they aren't sporty. Cheap suspension, little adjustability and basically made as cheap as possible. Even a 600-650cc sport bike class cuts some corners. The naked bikes makes more sense when you don't have the performance parts anyway. That said. I'm a sportbike guy myself and would definitively go for the Kawasaki Ninja 400. Personal opinions.

    I find it strange that Suzuki hasn't replaced the Gixxer 250 with Gixxer 250 SF. Sure it's not a stellar bike, but at least still a better sports bike, being lighter by 20 pounds, simpler single engine that isn't chained to long stroke, most likely cheaper and more attractive to new buyers.

    So odd, I like the way Kawasaki looks, but it was only second to the Yamaha Blue... I love blue... True Blue Cops, I even smoked True Blue for a time... And, it is American: Red, White & Blue :-) The Yamaha looks fantastic, & if it were as comfortable as my Harley, I may get one. BUT... an in line twin or thumper is not like a V-Twin (or V-4) as the rev's are lower, & less vibration is more comfortable. As I get older - over 60 now - comfort is important. So, as much as I would like a spunky twin, I will keep my comfortable HD... but, that is also a 1200 CC... not a 400... Mabe HD will make a smooth 400 or 600. That would be cool, really cool. The V-Twin has a good sound, low vibration, really good torque, it just makes a comfortable bike. As I get older, riding something that is more than twice my weight is only really good on a windy bridge... lighter is better :-)

      You should check out a virago or Buccaneer 250 by a company called Italjet- both use the same 60 degree 250cc v-twin motor. It’s an absolute blast to ride around town but can cruise okay too- I know what you mean about vtwins just being so smooth to ride at any rpm!
