I look back and try to find the part of me I don't know. I won't stop till I see the truth. There's such a long way to go. I saw a picture of a stranger but I don't understand. He had a ring around his finger and something burning in his hand. And I wanted him to teach me and I needed to believe. But the shadows that he threw me were intended to deceive. *Damned if I do* in 1979 was the song that hooked me. I was a junior in high school. Since then, I've bought many a Parsons vinyl, and I thought I had listened to just about everything they had officially released. But I just 'discovered' this track about 4 years ago, and it may now be my favorite.

Ian Bairnson's (RIP) solo is amongst one of the great ones in my humble opinion. Deserves an extended outro by all means.
