i have no other way to describe it but billlie is the red velvet of 4th gen. they can adapt and take on any concept and song.
billlie prides themselves with their b-sides, so def check them out. i think the other comments have great recommendations. i’d just suggest to try one b-side from each album. and yes, byob is a b-side.
all of billlie content builds up to their lore. teasers, mvs, b-sides, visuals. like everything. you don’t have to know everything to enjoy their music. i think the only important thing to know about their lore is that billlie/billlie love, her name, was their friend who suddenly disappeared one day. and all their music circles back to billlie.
RV and billlie do share diversity and their all-rounder status, but i do think it's more apt to call them the spiritual successors of f(x). rv got compared to f(x) quite a lot because they did get a lot of their more upbeat quirky kind of music for their 'red' side. but the particular aspect of not knowing at ALL what a given comeback will bring but knowing it, and every single b-side, will be on repeat def makes me feel the same way about f(x) as billlie. plus like, red light vs ring x ring is SO similar in peoples reactions to it.
Moon Sua is a sweetheart, she does great whether singing or rapping! Tsuki is the cutest idol in all of kpop, she is overflowing with sweetness, slay!
Ring x Ring is genuinely one of my favorite debuts ever like there’s just something about it 😵💫
the whole album is so iconic and as a predebut stan i hated seeing no love for it !!

BYOB is a pre release song. They will have a comeback with Dang ~ Hocus Pocus this 23rd October
I think Eunoia is a title track most similar to the sound of their b-sides, they have a very chill vibe so you’d probably enjoy them!

Flipping a Coin is one of my favorite songs of all time, you have to check it out! I recommend the dance practice too, their choreographer is actually dancing with them and it's just a blast of insane skill. You'd also absolutely love Enchanted Night frrrr

Thank you Thank you Thank you for checking out Billlie!!! These 7 girls are truly one of a kind and deserve so much more recognition!! Each member has a very long history of being in the industry and there's something to be said about a group that has 2 of each main position. If you enjoyed these you will LOVE their other titles (Snowy Night & Patbingsu) AND their besides. I genuinely speak for everyone when I tell you Billlie has one of the best discographies of the 4th gen. Their bsides are incredible (I really recommend Fl!pping a Coin, The Eleventh day, Overlap (1/1), Moon Palace, B'rave a story of matilda, McGuffins who's the joker, Enchanted Night and Nevertheless). There's also a very deep lore that is completely interwoven into everything they do including their lyrics. I recommend their Billlie films that show the storyline and explain what some of the lyrics are referencing. They are truly such talented sweet and funny girls and I wish everyone saw what Belllie'ves (which ur right is pronounced Believe) saw. Thank you again!! Also please check out Dang! the title track that will go with BYOB when it comes out on October 23rd!

BYOB is a pre-release of their first single album (side-B: memoirs of echo unseen) that comes out on October 23 with the title track Dang! (hocus pocus). In this comeback Moon Sua and Suhyeon are absent due to health problems, which is surely the reason why the MV is so short and poorly elaborated compared to the others.
On the other hand, the name of the group Billlie has a meaning behind it, it is divided into 3 parts:
-Bi/비 -> means rain in Korean, and is related to the purple rain on the day a girl disappeared
-11-> day 11 is when the girl and friend of the others disappeared
-Lie -> The girls lied about not knowing anything about the girl's disappearance, which makes them feel guilty, and this is when the story begins to develop.
And this is useful because it is a group with lore and background, in each comeback they upload short films that shed a little more light on the story of the girls and the disappearance of their friend (Billie Love). This is why there is so much information and stimuli in the MVs, and it is also the reason why you didn't understand what was happening throughout the first 4 MVs.
I really recommend that you react to its cinematography since it is beautiful and very interesting (apart from the fact that it contributes to understanding the MVs and lyrics of the songs), also, they have already said it in more comments but, I recommend you listen their bsides, these are literally art❤️

Sheon is pronounced like English "Shawn" or "Sean", one syllable. She took her real name, Suyeon, and dropped the "u": S-yeon, Syeon (which would be a more standard romanisation for 션). Siyoon is "she-yoon".
RING x RING is not "almost a bit sinister". It is _definitely_ sinister. The alarm sound you are referring to is 100% meant to be anxiety-inducing. With their debut song they are setting up the lore that forms the basis of a lot of the group's songs. A bunch of people hated it, but I thought it was a brilliant debut.
Not just GingaMingaYo, I think all Billlie songs require a second listen, at the very least. There is so much going on. They are such an interesting group.
They pulled off the rock vibe on Ring Ma Bell as if they were a rock group. Immaculate. Billlie Love is the main character in their lore.
Yes, their "Mystic Story" logo and the accompanying sound changes for each song, matching its vibe. It's always the same three notes, but always done differently.
Yes, BYOB just has five. Hoping the two missing members, Moon Sua and Suhyeon, recover well. Obviously I want them back, but their health should come first. Whether they come back from the hiatus or decide to retire from idoling, I wish them the best.
Speaking of missing members, RING x RING was a 6-member debut. Sheon was on a survival show whose top 9 went on to become Kep1er. She finished 10th. After leaving the show, she went back to her company and joined Billlie, missing the debut album release by like 10 days or so. Her first MV with Billlie is one of those you missed: one of the rare Christmas songs I like, Snowy Night.
As for my favourite... I'm in the Tsuki Gang :D Tsuki is too funny, and I adore her voice even though she's just a subvocalist. She does the bell in RING x RING, and her "heartbeat heartbeat" in Eunoia is just amazing. She is getting quite a name for herself in variety shows; she's guested on Fearless Kkura, been in Zombieverse, and is now just starting a show called Star of Star Girls with (G)I-DLE Yuqi and ex-LOONA Chuu, hilarious straight from the pre-interviews.

I wish more people would just check out their music because wow ! They have such great songs and voices !! It's funny because a lot of people were divided on RING X RING when it first came out- since the sound is so different. But I'm glad you liked it at first listen !
Also ,, yeah their concept/lore is kinda eerie but I love that as well. I'm not that well versed to be able to describe it to you but I'm sure another person can. Their lore is just super cool.

I love how Billlie reactions end with perplexed loss of words. If anybody hasn't seen their first Coin Karaoke episode check it out. They sound great and look like they are having a blast, but Moon Sua and Tsuki scream-singing Next Level like it's a punk song kills me.
Gingamingayo is definitely a song that takes a few listen throughs to fully form an opinion on the song. it’s almost impossible to understand/form an opinion on the first listen
I think, if you were to check out the lyrics, you would definitely understand RingxRing way more. It is supposed to be creepy because they're basically trying to find this person, Billlie.
The very first verse of the song and they literally say: Is she dead dead? Can we talk talk? Not anymore.
The whole first EP has songs that are talking about Billie, like 'the rumor' where the whole song is about people gossiping about her disappearance and what they know about her.
It's a story that continues through the different albums. In Eunoia for example, you can see them receiving texts from Billlie and them following her texts and going to the house. And you can see a police car in front of that house.
You can get more insight about the story by watching the short movie like videos that are on their channel. (they have the same name as their album names)
You should watch the performance version of GingaMingaYo! There are so many fun and interesting parts 😊

ring x ring completely blew my mind, not right away, but in a sense that with each listen the song grew more and more on me and i became totally obsessed with it. so much that it was my favourite song from 2021 and still is, and also probably my favourite debut of all time (only puzzle moon by gwsn and hype boy by nwjns come close to it for me tbh)

When I think back to my first exposure to Moon Sua, she was just an unsure kid, still a YG trainee, edited to look completely out of her depth on Unpretty Rapstar 2 with the other contestants walking all over her.
YG made a bad decision putting her on that show but I really admire her growth and because look at her now!!

billlie are my favorite gg in the 4th gen, they have a flawless discography, amazing performances, they always go all out with vocals and live singing and stage expressions. tsuki is the most famous for her amazing stage presence but they all have the it factor. really underrated group and you should definitely check out their bsides if you have a chance
billlie has lore to their songs and MVs, that’s why there’s weird clips before or after every MV haha
they released short films before every comeback (except byob) that explain the story. i totally recommend checking them out! their lore is very intricate and unique
billlie has a lot going on lore wise, we’re still not sure what exactly they wanna convey with the storyline but it’s pretty heavy and crazy interesting tbh but it’s a very deep hole lol so don’t worry, it’s kinda difficult for a lot of us to understand still

Billlie b sides are very rnb/pop synth (similar to the sound of eunoia), billlie b sides are always more played by me than title tracks like nevertheless, extra-ordinary and moon palace are constant repeats 💗

The song is a really brave debut. I've always said it sounds like several songs spliced together, which had every right to go disastrously wrong (and it's certainly not _everyone's_ cup of tea. For me, though, it's a work of insane _genius._

There's a beautiful video that they dropped yesterday on their channel that's worth watching (look for "side-B chat"), which gives you a nice look at their personalities. As they finished preparations for BYOB, the five girls went out for a meal to chat about it - and that's all the video is, just 15 minutes, chatting about the preparations for the comeback, but it tells you _so_ much about who they are, including how much they're missing Sua and Suhyeon (which I find is _really_ rare when members are on hiatuses), and how their absence affects the group. 🥰

Definitely echoing the suggestion to react to their b-side MV’s!! B’rave ~ a song for Matilda, Enchanted night ~ white night, and fl!pping a coin are all fantastic songs with different vibes. Nevertheless is also a REALLY great bside without a video if you have the chance to react to it
BYOB is actually a pre-release!! The title track is the one that comes out on the 23th. Also it doesn’t have to much effects and things bc it’s actually not an album comeback. It’s a single album. So the songs that will be on the album are probably just two songs and I personally expect Dang! (Hocus pocus) to be kinda hallowen-esque.
Also I second what everyone is saying in the comments: their b-sides are TOP TIER. like some of them are so strange but in a good way like they scratch my brain and some others are really chill and you can notice their AMAZING vocal ability.

so Sheon (going by Suyeon at the time of the survival show) was on girls planet during the preparation of billlie’s debut but mystic story did not want to wait on if she would get into kep1er or not so they continued and if she didn’t get in then she would join (which is exactly what happened). Either way she would’ve debuted !! And she ended up debuting before Kep1er got to, because their debut got pushed back.

so i just finished watching it in my 4am now and now im more than sure to ask you to check on their lore! it wont be that long cause as i remember the longest were just around 20 minutes and heres a little recap after i watched your reaction!
until now, Billlie has two kinds of album (which consist the lore) : The Billage of Perception (chapter 1: RING X RING, chapter 2: RING ma Bell, chapter 3: EUNOIA) and The Collective Soul and Unconscious (prequel trilogy 'Snowy Night' which has no physical album, and chapter 1: GingaMingaYo).
after eyeing them these time, imo, they have like two different world which on their consious/real life (the billage of perception era) as in their lore theyre telling about the missing Billlie Love that they want to reveal what happened before, why cant they remember anything which i thought theyre in current time.
and for the collective soul and unconscious, after watching the lore from Snowy Night and GingaMingaYo, i do believe theyre in their unconscious as they caught asleep but getting in another world and live as if they have no thoughts on Billlie Love again(?) cmiiw, eves, my brain aint braining over their lores either but those are my thoughts, RJ!

what makes them special for me cause they have like their own lovers (guard) in every released like The Snowy Man (snowman creature which you can found in Snowy Night and Patbingsu), Dreamvader (the one-eyed rabbit in GingaMingaYo), november (the black cat in RING ma Bell) not actually on the list but 'the thing' that Tsuki beats tho!?!, and the last Glau (the owl in EUNOIA).

this is the first group that hooked me just by listening to their first song. and stayed because not only are the bsides of their debut EP was good, even the following comeback was heavenly. Snowy night def cemented them as one of my faves, just because of the songs alone

my fave billlie vids are the oft-mentioned tsuki fancam for gingamingayo, and their dance practices for ring x ring and fl!pping a coin that are on the 1MILLION dance channel. they perform WITH their choreographers and it’s so, so good
you should def check out their bsides and maybe even learn a little about their lore bc i swear after learning about it you see everything from a whole new perspective and can enjoy it in a different and artistic way!

Pretty sure BYOB is a pre-release for a single album. Not sure how it'll play into their lore since it's so deep, but it'll be high quality even with 2 members missing. Hopefully next time it'll be 7 though, it's not the same without all of them
