great opening day but that current looked pretty fast at the beginning. very interesting "tourney" fishing for tagged fish for money. I like that idea. a $5k tag would be a catch of a life time.

Ya that current was fast cause of the rain but it slowed down and cleared up as the day went on.Yea I would of loved to of caught the 5k tagged fish.Appreciate ya watching

The last hole ya'll fished upstream of the footbridge is a good one. That's one of the prime holes in Cherokee. Even when it hasn't been stocked in a while, you can generally catch a few there. Both sides of the river are good.
Another hole to try that will always have some fish in it just below where Soco Creek runs into Oconaluftee.

Great video. But be extra careful where your fishing too. I fish the Cherokee area a lot. Giving fish away is illegal in Cherokee. Be careful where you fish. Because there is a catch and keep sign. Some area are catch and release. Make sure for every licensed holder. You must have your own individual line to keep your catch. Just want to make sure fishermen likes us don’t get a ticket for something. That was a good deed.

I usually stay away from the tournaments. Should have fished under the bridges that's where they stock and be out of rain.
