Seeing the late Diane Charlemagne so young and full of life here is bittersweet. But she'll always be remembered for her vocals that elevated Goldie's Timeless into the towering work of Art it remains to this day. R.I.P.
Yes she was young, beautiful and full of life the Diane. She was the best and bittersweet until the end when she was still alive. Her voices lives on, her music, her vocals forever. I'm so right in love with her ❤️
Born in February 22, 1964, Manchester, England, UK singer and songwriter. Diane Charlemagne was best known for being the voice of eurodance act Urban Cookie Collective and of drum & bass hits such as Goldie's 'Inner City Life' and 'Kemistry'. She also worked with artists such as Rhythm Masters, Joey Negro and Satoshi Tomiie, and was a part of Moby's live band from 2000 onwards. She died of cancer on 28 October 2015, aged 51. Rest in peace, Diane
1993. l'm 18yo and travelling in Beirut, Lebanon. Was in a dive bar where we were waiting for the electricity to be turned back on as the grid was rationed due to 26yrs of civil war. Approx 11:30pm Thurday night once the power came back and the generators were turned off, this song was the 1st to be played first. 48yo now, and l can still hear and smell the roar of the crowd on that magnificent night. Just like your parents tell you, it truly was a more simpler, decent and proud existence, we used to occupy.
I was born in 1979 - and in 1994, the future world held so much promise, now 30 years later in 2024 I look at life, society and people and think to myself: what the hell happened?😂
I was born Jan 1980 and although we've seen big changes to the way we live (digital & tech) , away from the interwebs everything feels the same as it always was. North Yorkshire is a beautiful area stuck in time.
One of my favourite songs from ‘93! There’s just something so euphoric about the song whenever it plays 🎧 🎶! Definitely one of those feelgood songs in my music collection that I go back to, yet is always a delight when I hear it played / requested on the radio. Going to be stuck in my head again tonight now though!
Thanks for sharing this u beautiful soul. I never grew up on this song but it's so nostalgic cos it sounds similar to other Eurodance songs I grew up with and it's such a mega vibe. 😍
Heard this on a Christmas advertisement on the telly last night & I was like, "Kids I used to dance to this down the local nightclub!" 🤣🤣👏👏 Those were the days 😊
I was 16 when this came out. We used to regularly go to an under 18s nightclub, called Neo Pharaoh's, in Sydney's city centre on a Friday night. Hearing this song takes me back there. I remember the music, the friends, and that feeling of endless possibilities that comes with youth. Life was all ahead of me, and I wanted to dive in. I didn't know that that feeling of excitement and wonder wasn't going to last forever. Oh, to be young again...
Before and after. My life was missing rhythm. This song was absolutely the beat of my young days. I closed my eyes and listened to it to transport me to a perfect place. This was the song to make me dream bigger
Diane died too soon, was brave to the last, full of heart and never lost hope. I didn't know who she was as a child, but this song and her voice had captivadet me like hardly no other. I come from Germany with my children and one of my former friends rated Diane as a bimbo many years ago. Today I know that Diane was something special, a gift from heaven. Without this anthem the Key, the Secret, something would be missing in the world. I will never forget what it triggered in me, something wonderful that I can not explain with words. This beautiful gentle soul is now to be accompanied by angels, she will always live on in her music and in the hearts of all who love her. Rest in peace, sweet Diane
Well said i was 13 at the time and found it so exciting with the new developments in the field of house music. Such a pity that the singer only had a short life that saddens me for me her music is immortal. Rest in peace Diane 😢
Great vocals from Diane, her voice takes me all the way back to 1985 with the band 52nd street and late 1980s with the band the cool down zone, Heaven knows we're missing you R. I. P
Respect to an unsung legend the late Diane Charlamagne She took this song with Urban Cookie Collective The key thr Secret became a Rave dance classic anthem back in the 90s
I was 11 years old in 1993 and remember being at a friend's bday party. His Dad was playing DJ hahaha. We were all in the garden on a bouncy castle jumping around to it. Tune stuck with me, amazing times 😁

It though I would love boarding school, but it turned out that I absolutely hated it and left after a year.
