I remember being transfixed by this song when I was 9 years old. Here I am at 33 still hypnotized by its nostalgia. This isn't a song, it's a time machine.
Not at all, it was twenty years ago. I guess you had a wealthy family and never had to live a real life to think this way ... just pure pathetic life indeed ... you will not be missed.
This song used to annoy me when I would listen to it growing up....but oh man, how times surely have changed! As time goes by, you learn to appreciate what you had in an era, that will never be again. The nostalgic feeling!!!
God. This takes me back. The first time I ever heard this was crossing the street toward a gas station. A little girl who managed a local restaurant I knew was putting gas in her car....her door was open, it was echoing through the streets on a hot summer night. I’ve not heard this is years, but I still have that visual implanted. Funny how a song can do that.
@Tristan You can still form lifelong memories to older songs! My favourite song was released in the late 60s, more than 20 years before I was born, but I can still recall in vivid detail where I was when I first heard it aged 6.
I just remember me and my mother who raised me alone for 10 years, we would be in the apartment and she would be banging this on the ghetto blaster and little 7 year old me would just be dancing in the living room. This brings back so many good memories from my childhood. I'm 30 now :( haha
I'm 37 now..(🤫😯) and this song is really deep rooted in my memory box ..doesn't seem long ago that I was dancing to this after my GCSE exams and went to celebrate with my bestie at the time, we went to Newquay..takes me back to that era..so young and carefree..was one of the best times of my life..prior to adult responsibilities etc..good times..will last a lifetime ..enjoy people.. ❤
It amazes me how this song manages to sound happy and sad at the same time, and i'm not necessarily talking about the nostalgia, but about the song structure itself and it's melody - more precisely, the lead melody. The way the notes are put together in this section is interesting because you only get the full picture when all notes are present. Before that (00:00 to 00:30), the G minor scale progresses as it should on a typical trance/eurodance track (by that i mean "rapid arpeggiated sequences"), but then the final notes are added and the melody goes down, like reeeally down, and you get yourself in this weird position where you don't really know if you're supposed to follow the lead keys or the background synths. That along with the vague subjective vocals ("do you think you're better off alone?"; "talk to me") create this unique and strange atmosphere of melancholy. If this song was composed with a different background sound, it would be a depressing, negative vibe song, and this is proven by Salem's and Mr. Kitty's cover of it.
Yes. It has a beautiful, yet eerie melody that sticks with you. The first time I heard it I was in a classy gentleman's club, with an excellent DJ, and I took the time to ask him the name of the artist. It became a club staple after that. It's a very simply song, with a simple melody, and almost non-existent lyrics, but very is well done.
The day this song was released, I went and bought it on CD and cassette. I was 13. I still have the CD in my collection. This song is immortal and forever.
Same here! I wish I was old enough to go to venues then. I missed out on the golden era. But I’m still listening to this and always will have a place in my heart. I’m glad I was alive during this time of the song.

couldn't have said it any better brotha!
I agree!
we're better off alone together
Прикинь в Росии. Помним с 90х. Свобода у нас была в то время.
Happy new year! 🥳
One of my all time favorite electronic sounds, it never gets old!

Unlike that dance routine, that looks very dated. :-)
Yeah
Agreed
I remember being transfixed by this song when I was 9 years old. Here I am at 33 still hypnotized by its nostalgia. This isn't a song, it's a time machine.
I'm 61 yr old guy from Australia play this song everyday as a reminder of the my nights in Bangkok on stage dancing away to this amazing music.
I'm about to be 32, I know the feeling. This isn't my usual genre, but wow, the childhood experiences just stick with you. I love this song.
Just like me then, I was 9 when I heard this and now i'm 33 😅 And I fully agree, this instantly throws me back in time and I feel like i'm 9 again.
30 and know exactly what you mean. One of those songs that just instantly take you back to a period in your life.

20 years ago this was released! Feels like yesterday 😍
My 1st kids mom was bout this life

I was in college in Miami. I remember this in the clubs. Scary how fast time is passing
Not at all, it was twenty years ago. I guess you had a wealthy family and never had to live a real life to think this way ... just pure pathetic life indeed ... you will not be missed.

ITS Saturday Night and good for Party Time❤
Feels good in the Carolinas!! Enjoying the day outside with this!!
Can’t believe this song was released 27 years ago!!! Still bopping to this!! ❤❤

Released late 90s. Vivid memories.
@@JonoGeeGee Oh, I'm sorry
@@JonoGeeGee vivid memories? What song name?
@@Ghjfhjhnntht no. december 1998 is not 14 years ago.
I grew up with this song and I never knew it had a music video.
I miss being a kid.
Same I don't want to get old.
@Alex Mercer there is! only if you are ALEX MERCER THE PROTOTYPE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
A lot of great songs had music videos that.... weren't quite up to par with the song. We tend to forget about them for that reason. Lol!
This song used to annoy me when I would listen to it growing up....but oh man, how times surely have changed! As time goes by, you learn to appreciate what you had in an era, that will never be again. The nostalgic feeling!!!
This. As a 40 year old I've had this with so many genres of music and songs I binned off as a kid, but came to appreciate years later
As time goes by even back then I've approached everything with appreciation and knowing it may not last so I guess I can't really relate
Same sentiments
Same
Same, but with Take on Me
Brings me back to Summer of 08 best year of my life
This song still is slapping and kicking 20+ years later and likely further into the decades as well. That's how you know it's a banger.
It's catchy, but that is all it has going for it. Musically it is very simple. It basically has 1 instrument with a high computer generated BPM.
Simple does not equal bad. Yah??@@tarstarkusz
It’s an OG
@@tarstarkusz” hey guys, I’m ignorant”
@@tarstarkuszwhat do you expect in a song? You want your Taylor Swift? What do you want bro? You came for a reason.
Es increíble pensar que esta canción fue hecha en 1999. En 2023, esta obra maestra 24 años después sigue siendo un autentico BOMBAZO.
Still is friend
tuvo su nuevo auge en los early 2010s
no significa que sea mala ahora, pero ya murió xd
La amo
@Paisaje conceptual esta canción ya no sale en la radio
@@mikethespike056 nada la musica no muere mas si es un clasico como esta
IKR, music is really connected w memories🥰
Nice
@Tristan for reall
@Tristan You can still form lifelong memories to older songs! My favourite song was released in the late 60s, more than 20 years before I was born, but I can still recall in vivid detail where I was when I first heard it aged 6.
@Tristan It was a great time. So much fun!
Songs that come from beyond 👍👍👍👍👍
I don't think this song will ever die.
kory zamora
We need to make sure it doesn't

I agree
It's immortal
It never will.
This song is very hypnotic, it takes me back to a happy time in my life. Oh the 90s...
Early 90s in Sides was glad to be part of the scene, massive Es, music and people, yup yup
Nastolgia
You and me both
Ra Zar same. I was born 2002 but the 90s were amazing, I remember those days
If it was made in 1998 that only left you 2 more years of the 90’s, so why say oh the 90’s like it represents the whole decade.
I just remember me and my mother who raised me alone for 10 years, we would be in the apartment and she would be banging this on the ghetto blaster and little 7 year old me would just be dancing in the living room. This brings back so many good memories from my childhood. I'm 30 now :( haha
nice
Im 19 and this is my adolescence right here. its a serious banger
yeah!
This song randomly popped into my mind.
Beautiful 🙏
*Years later*: Turns out, I was better off alone
ok
lol 😂
THANOS
Yeah hard to wonder about those castles in the sky with the ignorant and unlucky ones.
Hehe yeah
I'm 37 now..(🤫😯) and this song is really deep rooted in my memory box ..doesn't seem long ago that I was dancing to this after my GCSE exams and went to celebrate with my bestie at the time, we went to Newquay..takes me back to that era..so young and carefree..was one of the best times of my life..prior to adult responsibilities etc..good times..will last a lifetime ..enjoy people.. ❤
:(
IM 40 and from California and yes it was a time of house parties and parties and more parties -
this song haunts me. The words: "Do you think you're better off alone? Talk to me.... please?"
[I walk out the door. Out of someones life. again. ]
I'm too young for politics but I am perfect for music and I am better alone solid gold.
Im 60 and still hearing it. Love it ❤
finally, lyrics i can remember
ivan racasa lol!!!!!!!!
ivan racasa , 😂😂😂 true!!
I can't believe it has been 25 years! ~ahhhh memories!!!
I’m honestly surprised this doesn’t have a billion views. One of the best beats ever made, the song went hard, video nice… classic.

What's good about this song when you take away the nostalgia and all that comes with it? Not much, and there's part of your reason.
One of the greatest tracks of all time. Defines a generation.
If you think this is one of the greatest songs of all time, then you need to revise your music knowledge.
+Jaymz Hetfield at least it's better than the shit they play now
i think the same when i see your picture, great movie.
+Jaymz Hetfield its one of the greatest dance tracks of all time definitely
+RadioactiveGary aayyeee...
❤ LEGENDARY ❤ The best hit of. 90s 🔥🔥🔥💯💯💯💯💯💯💯💯
Interessante

@@EuricusChryseus yeah i'm a music nerd
Have you heard Purity Ring's cover? If not, do yourself a favor and check it out.

this song gives me chills as I associate it with some epic nights in my younger years. timeless classic.
Same here..
Oh ja. : )
💯

I think you made up this whole dumb story just to get some likes.
Eurodance brings me back to my childhood! Early 2000's kids will understand; This is all I knew of in terms of music!
Yes this is nostalgia
funny thing is I didn't even hear so much Eurodance back then but still it hits different.
Same here! I wish I was old enough to go to venues then. I missed out on the golden era. But I’m still listening to this and always will have a place in my heart. I’m glad I was alive during this time of the song.
Dance music of the 90s and early 2000s is suchba trip to go back and listen to. Middle school and early high school dances were a thing to remember 🕺
Well im from 2008 and i can say this is tremendous theme.
Decades later this song still gives me the chills. A classic that will last a lifetime! ♥️

@Mystic Souls what does them being a woman have to do with this
@Mystic Souls haha facts man. We post a selfie… we don’t get likes, they get a post in a shirt n top over 30k likes 🤦🏼♂️it’s just the way the world works. Like tinder for instance… they get around 1k of likes, we get 8 likes 🤷🏼♂️
@Mystic Souls 135 likes isn't a lot, you're over exaggerating, if a man said the exact same thing obviously they would get almost an equal amount of likes because people don't care about gender anymore unlike you
@Mystic Souls This is the youtube comment section.... do you think people are getting laid or finding partners here buddy? Liking comments doesn't do anything for anyone.
