There are a number of ways to attach a neck to the body. They all work well, if done properly. There is no BEST way. David Schramm, has used several. When doing the Spanish heel method, he put wedges in the gap where the sides go in. Many luthiers use the double mortise and spline, easier to control the neck angle.
I posted my comment because, I read and hear so many people seem to think the Spanish Heel is the BEST & ONLY way to truly make a classical or flamenco guitar. Jose Oribe, Richard Brune, Robert Ruck and many others have used the double mortise and spline for years. @@zimnickiguitars311

I agree, there is no "best" wat to attach the neck to the body. The method here is simply the traditional Spanish approach.
