The fate of my Vmax after my accident

  • All was looking good for the ole girl until they found extensive damage totaling over $9,189.00 USD to repair it. It is more than what you can actually see in the video and includes front forks, triple tree, frame, etc. The good news is the engine itself is pristine and not a scratch on it.
I paid $11,000.00 USD out the door for it back in 2007 and the total loss pay off was $9200.00 so for those of you guys out there that have a Vmax, if you keep it in pristine shape, you can get most of your money back for it.
Will I miss it? You're darn right I will but the memories of that day and my continuing surgeries say enough is enough for a bike like that. I think I'll keep my desire for 0 to 600 in the jets I fly. :-)
I am psyched about riding my Voyager when I'm well, if my Vmax had linked brakes and ABS like my Voyager I don't believe this would have happened. I can see why a lot of Manufacturers are adding these features to new bikes. Plus, I was wear an extensive amount of riding gear which allowed my to keep my limbs and saved my life.
It's a sad video but I hope you all enjoy it.

The good thing is you are still around. Your FJ vids brought me to your channel. I look at bikes and sometimes think about getting one but while out driving in my car or FJ and see how other people drive today (distracted) I always say, nah. Be safe.

Thanks for the words, yeah, riding is dangerous as heck but the enjoyment I get out of it outweighs the risks. It's kind of why I was an ex military pilot and war zone contract flyer / soldier. But my riding will be forever enhanced be even more awareness than before even though my past record is clean, speeding ticket free, and accident free until now.

Jese, it hurts to look at the damage. Ouch, I hate when I hurt myself, at least we can heal, maybe not 100% but near.

Fill me full of metal and sew me up, I'm ready to heal and get back on the road. One more surgery and I should be good to go! 🙂

I know, and I kept the bike in new condition too but the Insurance Company took possession of the bike and gave me quite a bit for it. Would have been great to part it out but it was out of my hands. Thanks for the comments.
