I was 18 or 19 when this came out. Working 1 proper job and 2 part time, plenty of cash in me pocket, living at home, no worries, car and motorbike, girlfriends, the summers were hot, the music was hotter, we travelled and trekked, did the festivals, stoned most days and there were no phones, computers, internet, google or social media to mess with your head....life was so uncomplicated, '70 to '75 were the best/happiest years of my life, then it started getting a bit more serious/grown up with marriage and mortgages but we still had fun.
Maggie May is my signature anthem for that era...it'll be played at my funeral....and it brings a tear to my eyes, and a smile to my face every time I hear it, as the memories flood back.
71 now, and the tears come faster and more furious as I get older....but the smile gets broader 'cos, y'know what, some folks talk about doin' it but don't, some wish they'd done it, others lie about doin' it but didn't....but I did, and it was a blast.
Thanks for the memories Sir Rod, time to dry me eyes, wipe the smile off me face and skin up👍.

Went to his concert on a whim. He knocked me over with this concert. It was Rod's 50th birthday. What a showman! If you get a chance go see him. Thanks to Rod for one of the top 5 concerts of my lifetime!

I started listening to him when I was 20, back in the 70's, and hell I'm not even allowed todrive now and on social security after 50 years of working retired now. But I tell you, after watching 10 of his concerts back then, the dude could tear up the audience and put on a show.

I've been a fan of Rod Stewart since 1978(11yrs. old then) when I saw him on TV singing "I was only Joking" then the rest is history. My regret was, I wasn't able to watch his concert here in the Philippines because at that time, I just started my first formal job after I graduated. Honestly, the concert ticket was fair enough, the problem was, I was in Mindanao then, the back-forth plane ticket was the bloody one... Maybe, seeing him personally is only in my dream... I respect him tremendously because of his love and dedication to his talent. He's now 78yrs. old, and still rockin'. God bless you and take care always same with your family.

It breaks my heart to see what the youth of today have to endure, with unconfined increased proportional threats imposed on all societies. And with a deepening sense of regret that it might too late to change. Given this realization, several years ago I returned to God (Judeo Christian) and the Church, and the Holy Bible. This gave me a new sense of hope, relief, freedom, and joy.
