Due to the COVID-19 outbreak I can't get out filming at them moment, so I'm starting a series called 'The Best of:' where I collate the best clips I've taken ordered by traction.

We're getting 4 of these on the Northumberland Line, almost done with driver training, love the growl when they accelerate
The lifespan of these units is incredible. I'm 51 years old and I remember travelling on 158s on the Queen Street-Waverley diagram when I was a teenager. When well maintained they always give an 'express' level of travel even on a local service. Great stock.
How old are these trains?
@@Baloongis2 over 30 now I believe
These are so unbelievably comfy, makes half of SWR stock feel like sitting on a tree
My favourite ever class of trains in 2004 when I was 5 my dad took me to Acton bridge and I remember the 158’s stopping and departing from the platform I used to love the roar of the engine when it was departing ❤️
Okay, they are noisier than more modern DMUs, but excellent ride quality, paired to well padded comfy seats, matched up to windows, good knee room, leave most replacements wanting because they don’t focus on customers. Power sockets, Wi-Fi and upgraded train information means that they are still good to go.
one of the best looking trains imo, so much so I bought a bachmann model of one
Nothing beats a good ol' 158 thrash 🗿
I love the 158
The trains that saved regional railways, some have claimed.
Yassss
I like travelling on the Scotrail 158's.
Would sooner travel on these than the voyagers
Same here
Every Voyager I've travelled on stinks. The whole carriage smells like a chemical toilet.
Another great collection of clips.
Thanks
My favourite train
I love the class 158

0:25 very cursed 158
This is here because in reality this train has 2 coaches, so they just couple a separate coach to the end to make it longer. Hope that helps. And no its not cursed.
He's right 🎉
Not its a common practice with the train operators as these trains are rather short
They are pretty goof
What is best? Ok I’ll watch
Are you doing best train of class 333s
He will do best of Class 333 but he’s doing them in order
Yes so next is 159
Do you know which subclasses have perkins 2006 engines? I don't lmao

158815-158862 🙂.
The first one was shifnal right..
route?
1:22 that's not a 158 that's a 159 a copy of the 158 added carriage and it says the number is 158 so they are normally 159s and 158s
a 159 is a 3 carriage and 158 is 2 carriages a bit of a copy meh
nope its a 158, there are many 3 car 158 in use with Northern and GWR. As built the 159s had retention toilets and 1st class which the 158s did not (except the SW ones)
Me: *sees class 159*
Also me: **intently reports video for false content**
there are no 159s in this video
