I personally love Eureka Seven, as it was the anime that got me into anime in the first place. I stumbled into it on Toonami late at night, and was astonished at how amazing it was. I this first taste got me into anime like Fullmetal Alchemist, Casshern Sins, Trigun, Cowboy Bepop and Air Gear.

i seen ep 1 in dub, then finished It, the Movie, the manga, and Season 2. all before december of 2012. and i think the anime was at like 14 or 15 when i finished. all in all. Loved everything, But Ao. Ao felt so Rushed. i mean, budget might have something to do with it. but No real character development at all. we just wanted to see Renton and Eureka. lol

Ryan Stanford Yea. We wanted more of Eureka Seven's charm and the original characters. Not a story that felt like a fanfiction

I just watched this anime and this series has been the best 50 episodes of my life. At first I wasn't entirely hooked on the show. But later on I just couldn't stop watching and I had to finish the anime. It started off kinda slow but it was all worth it. The development with the characters were just so good. Like if I were to watch the ending of E7 without watch the rest of the episodes first. I probably wouldn't feel sad. But I watched all 50 episodes and I felt attached to the characters. Seeing the characters' happiness, conflicts, hatred, resolves and romance is something i could never forget. It was one amazing experience. This anime is definitely my favorite out of any anime out there. I don't know why I haven't watched this sooner.

I finally found the time to dive into Eureka Seven and I must say that I'm definitely hooked. I'm about 20 episodes in and after each episode ends I find myself compelled to avoid other tasks and continue watching.
I will say though that up until about episode 9 I wasn't totally invested in it. Renton kind of annoyed me and it almost felt like a lot of filler episodes that only moved the story only very small amounts. Those episodes helped me get a better understanding for some of the characters but they didn't really suck me into the world/story. That might have to do with the length though since I'm used to the pacing of 12 or 24 episode shows and a series with 50 episodes doesn't have to push the story along at the same pace.
I'll do a follow-up comment when I finish it since I only imagine that it continues to get better.

YES! Wonderful review. You really covered everything and reminded me why I love Eureka Seven so much. It was basically my first anime too, and it has yet to be truly topped. So much is good about this show, I wish other anime makers would take note, the people who made AO clearly didn't. Thanks to this I'm probably going to watch this series all the way through again. Keep up the good work.

Oh how do I feel at home here in these comments. This anime is by far my favorite anime of all that I have seen, not just because it's good, but, like many, this was the anime that pioneered my love for it. I've seen the whole entire anime so many times that I could probably not miss any more details (around 50 times, I lost track), yet I'm still finding more details in the anime. I also really love the music. During the time that I watched this anime was when I was in a band, and through listening to this music I practiced different things and different tempos as I heard the trumpets blare (I played trumpet). All in all everything has faults, but no matter what this anime will always be my number 1 favorite anime of all time.

Great video. Eureka 7 was the anime that lead me to realizing that all of my favorite programs came from this Japanese medium, and I can quite honestly say it play a huge role in forming my character back in middle school. I've watched through the series at least 5 times. it is one of the great classics of the medium, alongside Cowboy Bebop, DBZ, Gundam, and many others.

I love how professional your videos are man, very good. I haven't watched this series yet, but I do have both of the Anime Legends DVD boxsets and the movie on Bluray so I'll be watching it soon. I was really fortunately to get a hold of the boxsets for retail price considering they're OOP.

and yeah the anime legend releases are pretty over priced. Funimation have picked up the license and they're going to be bringing out the series on blu ray, not sure when but it will be awesome to get a cheaper re-release.

This is my favourite anime and is so special to me. Yes, it had flaws, but there is just no other anime like it. I can't find an anime out there that has the characters, the romance, the setting, the action, the soundtrack. I will forever feel the void that Eureka Seven has left with me.

I remember watching this about 4 years ago when I was a freshman in highschool. Being a music major now, I can really appreciate the sentiments instilled inside the musical framework, and how nostalgia is so easily experienced when listening to each one at any point in time. I recently watched it a second time, and I'm not afraid to say that I cried like a small child. Reminiscing, about the past can sometimes be poisonous to a persons mental health, however this anime made me reconnect with my tender, compassionate side. It even helped remind me of what love actually looks like! I really appreciate your video, and I subscribed to see more! Keep up the good work!

Yes I don't understand what they did with AO. I watched the first for episodes and was like "What the f is this?". Why would the make the main characters 12 and 13 years old,? That part really bothered me. I watch E7 when I was 16. Here I was near 20 when AO came out, and the characters are 12 years old?

I rewatched it recently and honestly a lot more things made sense to me. The plot since it was complex for me at the time so I was able to grasp it. The symbolism as well along with smaller details that added to the show. Especially more of the emotional scenes which I never really had any feelings for but now they have me balling like a baby. Hope you rewatch! It definitely is a whole new experience again

Ah, so much nostalgia. I'm with you 100% on your evaluation. The number of relationships and themes packed in the show were impressively executed. I still remember a few of the characters' names, despite the years since I've watched it. The music always made me feel like I was flying, and I've bought almost every album from NIRGILIS since. The animation still holds for me too. Many tears were shed. It wasn't my first, but it is one of my favorite romance anime.

I´ve never watched an Anime a 2nd time except claymore. Because it is very interesting and short. So I rewatched it with friends. But for me alone there is no point to watch a Story a 2nd time because I know the story. But Eureka 7 could be a candidate because it´s plot is bursting with a lot of details that you can miss on the first time. And I loved to watch it. I recently finished it. And even if we have 2015 now it´s still pretty beautiful to watch it.

E7 was the anime that made me make the full plunge into the anime world so like you will always have a special place in my heart and one of the few anime I watch over and over... The Music was indeed brilliant Sakura and Storywriter were my two fav and well I cant think of an anime where I felt a strong connection to the entire cast from the protagonists in gekko state to even eventual rivals in Ray and Charles god what a show... +TheLegendaryRK9 it is my absolute 2nd favorite anime ever. It ended exactly the way I wanted it to. The characters were memorable, they were easy to get attached to and to love. There's a lot of animes I have watched that you watch then you can't remember the characters. This one was different. I loved the concept, I have always loved the whole sentient robot consent. I actually almost shed a tear when The End sacrificed itself for his pilot. And I also loved the "bad guy love story" lol. All in all it was an incredible anime.

"best sky battles I've ever seen"
    Someone hasn't seen Area 88.
I haven't seen this show, but it's obvious that the battles don't even begin to compare. I'd say the battles in Gundam 00 and Gundam Unicorn are better too. There's ridiculous praise here.

there were a good number of episodes that were hard to watch, not to mention all the very vague dialogue and character interactions, where a character in the show would ask VERY normal questions and never get the answers. but even with out answering questions the story would just move on. still a very good and enjoyable show i just had a few problems with it

I highly recommend the two biggest inspirations for Eureka Seven, these anime being Neon Genesis Evangelion and After War Gundam X.
Not saying that they're better or worse than E7, but they are similar and worth watching, as well as interesting to see where E7 got its influence.

If you liked Eureka Seven, I heavily recommend watching Neon Genesis Evangelion and After War Gundam X, both having large influence on E7.
Not saying they're better or worse than E7, just that they helped inspire E7 and are both really worth watching if you liked Eureka Seven!

Eureka Seven's one of those anime that's been on my radar for months, but I haven't actually gotten around to watching it yet. Though now it's risen in priority. Though I may just wait until the blu-rays are out.
I'm just wondering if the other series, AO, is as good.

    • @AnimeEverydayYT
      @AnimeEverydayYT  10 ปีที่แล้ว

Theres a lot of talk about AO, some people like it some dont. Its not a direct squeal to eureka seven and that's why most people dont like it. It has the same nice animation and soundtrack that the original does but its only 24 episodes and doesn't have as strong a plot or as good characters. But its 100% worth watching after you've watched eureka seven.
Anyway, good luck with eureka seven, hope you enjoy it :)

the amazing grace song is truly amazing (excuse the pun). But Guilty crown has the greatest music ever, from Hiroyuki Sawano's soundtrack to tracks by Egoist & SuperCell (despite how problematic Guilty Crown's narrative is)

The ONLY thing the keeps driving into my head is WHY the hell there isn't a second season to continue the show?? I mean the ending is soo annoying for me. I hate that there isn't a conclusion in the first place. Its just leading on so hard its stupid. I don't like the AO series. I get that it does have them in it but its not the same. Their..side characters. Not legitimate characters who are actually there. Just who they are isn't fair to hide to the rest.

I didn't want to watch the show because the drawing threw me off at first glance, but after I watched it, it has taken the spot of my all time favorite anime from code geass. Only anime that I've ever teared up at! It gets you so connected to the story and characters with left me with a void and nostalgic feeling after I finished it. I heard that the sequel AO will just ruin the show for me, so I decided not to watch it. I current have no idea what to watch because I feel like nothing will ever compare to this. If anyone has a suggestion, please tell me! Also I heard rumor that they're making a sequel to AO, is this true?! Thanks for reading and feel free to reply?

I think what stops me from watching these series is the fact that they make the main characters SO young. I started watching Anime in the 1980s with Space Battleship Yamato (Starblazers) and Suoerdimesional Fortress Macross (Robotech Macross) and though these characters were young, they were still young adults not children. I really can not relate to characters that look almost half the age of my nephew.

    • @ehoba
      @ehoba 8 ปีที่แล้ว

If you think so, Eureka Seven is the anime you should watch. Eureka Seven tried to show the duty of adults to children and the children growing up to young adults. I don't think that the attempt worked well, but the creators really know what it means to write child main characters.
Plus, it is also the tradition of mecha anime passed down from Tetsujin 28-go. Adult characters can pilot mecha, but there's a kind of story that can be written only with the little boy protagonist.

this review shouldve mentioned the rest of gekkostate, the only 4 that really stood out were talho, holland, eureka, and renton, everyone else is pretty irrelevant, given how much screen time they had, that was a downer for me and the kids were the absolute worst

I'm very curious, if anyone knows if their will be another series of E7, after AO.. I really did wish they would have continued with what happened with them before the whole AO thing. Quite frankly though, I don't look stuff up, so I wouldn't know if they already stated they're not making anymore, or if they are. If anyone knows that would be great guys lol. Tbh, E7 has been by far my favorite out of any other show.

    • @eejdmrj3hw

Nothing that really connects AO to the series, but there was two PS2 games that had been a prequel to the original show, it also got a manga adaptation.
Also there is a non-canon alternate universe movie.
