​@@joshuaPurushothaman_no no, the description says they did exactly that - for each frame they divided the image into chunks, then ran an XOR of each chunk with all frames of bad apple, finding the most similar frame for that chunk then using it for that chunk. That's how it takes account of the pixel placement in chunk, not just averaging the brightness and finding the closest match on that for each chunk.
