Usually when you have a hero's funeral where the body burns it's soothing and calming, dignified. Not so much here, with burning the flesh evaporating the rest and slamming the thing down with force likely destroying all the bones inside. Geez another world
First things first: porting this game is AWESOME culture act for Amiga community! BIG thank you for Erik! Shame that the game is not on the same level with the original. And that ending... My GOD it SUCKED!! Seeing our hero from the first game getting such a lame closure is just pathetic and heart breaking. ;-(
Yeah I never understood why they did that either, so disappointing. To just off the character like that...I would have preferred to stick with the ending from the first game and use my imagination for the rest.
The original creator said that this is not representing his vision at all and hated what this other studio did with his game and does not consider it a canon sequel
@@aciu145 Knowing this, I still think it was okay to try something with its story and this game shows passion for the project. Better than nothing I'd say.
Not only in this scene. The same goes for 3:22 - if you remember the original scene. Correct would have been to see this scene totally flipped vertically. I think they did it because the flip would probably looked weird and the player maybe did not recognized the scene.
I never understood why in the first game that alien can fight with others easily in melee combat, but here, in the second part, he gets easily thrown to the ground and destroyed in one hit to the face. Can someone explain this, because this is simply dumb? And good thing Eric stated that this is not the official sequel to his Another World - the ending here is horrible.
It's a cool game but it doesn't make sense because the red eyed alien was clearly obliterated last game. Eric Chahi said this game wasn't canon anyway.
Guess they wanted to show him (or her) die and were too lazy to make a new death animation and just used the death animation when hit by one of those laser pistols? Haven't rewatched the video so don't know if that animation has been used before, but dying at that angle makes me think it hasn't, so maybe they DID make that animation for this situation. But yeah, looks weird. So, when this species die, they disintegrate, as you said.... it seems :)
@@jiovannijones6869 Are you really bringing "reality" in a game series where the protagonist ends up in a alien world because of a failed particle acceleration experiment and the aforementioned alien world happens to have the same atmosphere as Earth?
More "squished" to pieces than shattered. Pretty realistic scenario actually. Imagine a big flat rock that weighs tons falls on your fast, stuff is gonna come off as you are flattened. The pressure of blood and organs need to escape somehow which pops the head and maybe other parts off.
I think not. Eric Chahi - the original designer - expelled Heart of the Alien, as it was not what he intended Virgin and Interplay to do on his behalf. He was stating that this game is no official sequel to his Another World.

I can't really tell what happened in the intro. Why there were b&w scenes? I'm a bit confused about that. I don't like too much the backgrounds, nor the animations. In Another World on Amiga, there was everything clear and nice. The download link for a real Amiga is no longer existed. Thanks for the WHD link!
This sequel is not canon, what a disaster lol, not even remotely close to the quality of the first one which had a vision, puzzles and narrative, this has none of that, Eric wasn't even part of this project.
@@Jim222001the first one was more of an adventure. You traveled and explored several different distinct areas. they made a statue of lester , he was thier savior

They should make a part III where the alien guy finally get transported to Lester's world and married his wife and own his Ferrari.
I'd love to see a movie of Another World. I love the atmosphere that was created.

It can't be explained beyond stupidity of the people who made the sequel really.

Maybe his ammo satchel/pistol was heated by fire and exploded, disintegrating the guard.
Scene of deaths 17:54
