Hi. This is a really great video. It gives me a good idea what the trek is like, and it is delightful. Quick question. It looks like your companion on the trip was exhausted at the end of each day. Was it a difficult trek? What days were the hardest? Any reason why?
Hi David! Thank you so much for watching and so glad the video could give you a good idea about the trek. Haha, that's funny that you were able to notice - my husband was indeed especially exhausted the first few days, as he had just quit smoking at the start of the trek! Otherwise, I think this trek was fairly similar to other Nepali treks, difficulty-wise. There were some longer days (Koto to Meta, Meta to Phu), and the Kang La pass is pretty long with a steep climb at the end, but apart from that, if you are decently fit and accustomed to trekking at altitude, I found this trek to be the perfect level of challenging. I hope that helps and please let me know if you have any other questions!
Heyy! I completed my Nar Phu Valley Trek on April 20 this year. It was my first trek there. I watched your video and it helped me to get information about this trekking. Also, I made a trek video as well😃 I still haven’t checked the rest of your videos but I’m planning to watch them all! Thank you 🙏
Hi! That’s great you just did the Nar Phu Trek, and so glad that my video provided you some information ahead of time. Would love to see your video and see what the trek was like in the spring! Hope you had a wonderful journey :)
Hi Stephanie! Thank you for the detailed overview of the trek. I am planning to go through the same trek in mid April 2023. I am wondering what should I pack in terms of sleeping system. I am wondering if i would need to carry sleeping mat and sleeping bag if i plan to stay at the teahouses? Also how is the electricity in the area? Is it easy enough to charge electronics? Thank you in advance! ❤❤
Hello Oei Angela! Thanks so much for your message, and that's awesome that you are planning to do the Nar Phu Trek. Very good choice :) For sleeping, you actually don't need to bring anything extra as all the tea houses have beds and blankets for guests. I usually bring a sleeping bag with me on treks, and I did for this one as well, because I like to make sure I'll be extra warm and comfy. Definitely not necessary though. As for electricity, despite being so remote, most of the villages on this trek do have electricity, although with varying levels of reliability and power. Khyang and Phu only rely on small solar systems I believe, so less reliable there, but you should still be able to charge your electronics every stop along the way, unless maybe you had a device that required higher than average voltage to charge. I brought a power bank with me just so I could be sure I'd be able to charge, and used it to charge things the whole way. I am fairly sure there was cell phone coverage most of the way, although maybe not in Phu. I think Nar even had wifi though. I try to just have my phone in airplane mode the whole time, so I don't quite remember how good it was throughout. Hope that helps and please let me know if you have any other questions! I'm sure you already know, but the Nar Phu Trek does require an additional restricted area permit, and a funny rule that you need to have at least two trekkers in your group. If you need any assistance with permits, etc, I can help out with that too.
@@StephThorntonNEPAL 😂 yes it's I always remember and thinking but it's hard to say difficult for me it's impossible 🙅 bahini Sorry 🙏 about that. Just I am watching your beautiful video that it.

Hi! We went in early November. If you’re going soon, it will be a bit warmer than when we did it, but definitely cold and windy up there at the higher altitudes. Pack the same as for any other nepali trek where you get up to 5000m. Having a down jacket and layers is super important and you’ll need gloves, warm socks and warm hat. Do you have all your permits and guide set for doing nar phu trek?
@@StephThorntonNEPAL we have a guide Just didn't know how many layers to bring. Like how many t-shirts like having a long sleeve t-shirts one fleece I have two down jackets one of those light Patagonia ones and a 650 fill down jacket. I don't want to bring too much and I don't want to bring too little. I think like two to three long sleeve shirts two to three t-shirts three hiking pants and some gloves and a wooly hat.
Oh and one more question regarding the cell phone coverage, how is it there 😅 thanks!!
To be honest I never been there but your video make me filling 🥧 I am with you. Keep it up 👆.
Hope you get to go there in person too!
@@StephThorntonNEPAL 😂 yes it's I always remember and thinking but it's hard to say difficult for me it's impossible 🙅 bahini

Beautiful video 🤩😍
Thank you so much Som :)
Also what time of the year did you go in
We are doing 16 days which also includes part of the Annapurna circuit too. Do you think I'm bringing too much stuff

Do you know the agency to do this trek?
Hi Kamu! Yes, my husbands agency helped get all the permits, etc for the trek, and then our guide is a friend that we've traveled with on other treks in Nepal. Let me know if you need any help with arranging this trek, getting a guide, etc - would be happy to help :)
@@StephThorntonNEPALHi Stephanie. Your video inspires people so I'm going to do the Nar Phu Valley trek this October. Thank you so much for all the helpful information. How could I contact your husband's agency for a guide? Wishing you all the best with the pregnancy!
@@AndreeaAzar That's awesome, so happy to hear that you are going to do Nar Phu Valley trek this October! Only a few months away :) I work with my husband's agency, so feel free to contact me at StephThorntonNepal@gmail.com and we can definitely help with helping you organize your trek. The agency is Beyul Travel & Treks if you want to check them out online - they're really great and their guides are wonderful (www.tripadvisor.com/Attraction_Review-g293890-d13958241-Reviews-Beyul_Travel_and_Treks-Kathmandu_Kathmandu_Valley_Bagmati_Zone_Central_Region.html)

@@StephThorntonNEPAL I cannot thank you enough for replying so fast and with a newborn on your hands! I am glad the little one is already here :) I will write you an email with all the info. A big hug!
Hi,, do you have access to a trekking map for this particular path?
Namaste jsparroww! I found this trekking map online: www.magicalnepal.com/ght-high-route-annapurna-naar-phu-map/
You can zoom into the Nar Phu region in the top right of the map. Otherwise, when you get to Nepal you can also find a paper trekking map in Thamel, if you'd like!
@@StephThorntonNEPAL Thank you so much... id love to do this trek!
@@StephThorntonNEPAL Would it have been possible to skip Phu and just go Khyang to Nar to save a day or is it for acclimation?
@@katfishjohn Yes, you can definitely skip Phu and go to Khyang or even go from Meta to Nar Phedi or Nar if you are short on time. We met a couple who was going on to do Thorong La and on to Mustang who did this. If you do have time though, Phu is really such an incredible, unique place, and worth the journey up there!
@@StephThorntonNEPAL Well I am trying to fit it into my time frame. What time of day do you think I could arrive in Dharapani leaving KTM in the early am?
you nepali accent is very good . #cheers
Thank you Suman, that’s very kind of you to say 🙏🏼
😍😍🇳🇵👍️
Beautiful; thanks for sharing. If possible, can you give me contact details of the person who did the kitchen? I am also building a home just outside Kathmandu, and I like your kitchen very much!
Elevation of Nar was nistyped. Should be 4110 rather than 3110.
You are right 😯 I never noticed that, even after seeing it so many times while editing! thanks for letting me know, I’ll make a note in the description
