I think the "twinsies" outfit with Abby was very much something that other women of the times would have experienced, they'd have done the pattern *their* way and done this or that differently, so in a way that was like being in the past.

I think making it separated makes a lot of sense, you can give it more use to each part separated than the whole piece, like you said, the skirt alone has so many uses, the chiffon part also I think gives it a cute look and the top piece gives outfits a funky fun look that could be what you need somethimes, so it will get so much use as you make it, wonderfull work as allways! Really inspiring!
I can't even tell you how much I love this! It really came together at the end as a cohesive piece and elegant but still interesting look. I also LOVE the quick peek of these pieces separately with other clothes, all of those outfits work too.
"I'm meant to be working on the skirt." Love getting side tracked. With the straps, given that they are tied, you could make them criss cross over your back. That might bring the "neckline" closer in.
The loose sides near the bust (while not my personal fave) are very reminiscent of the Doric chiton worn by Greeks, which was a style that heavily influenced Regency and some Edwardian fashion. It also had some influence on art nouveau, which you can see in the works of Alphonse Mucha or Élisabeth Sonrel. This pattern also nods to the peplos. So while I appreciate the drape, I've personally never cared for it. Probably because all my clothes are too big for me and gap like that, but it just annoys me. Still, it looks lovely~
Twinzes with the besties is amazing! So super cute~! That pin trick is AWESOME! I’m ‘fighting’ with the front of a vaguely medieval regency overdress and deciding if I want to trim the front bodice back for functional lacing or a strip of ‘hidden’ hook and eye tape, so that placement trick is good to have in mind. And then sleeves because it’s almost winter and I don’t want to make a sleeveless over dress. Decisions, decisions.
I need a Netflix series where Morgan Donner and Abby Cox wear vintage clothing, drink wine and solve mysteries.
This could work.

I can't even tell you how much I love this! It really came together at the end as a cohesive piece and elegant but still interesting look. I also LOVE the quick peek of these pieces separately with other clothes, all of those outfits work too.
The whole dress is great but the sheer part over a white top is FIRE!
I am in LOVE with the chemistry pinafore you're wearing!!
As someone who makes fancy Drapery for a living....
YES. there are so many fabrics I see at work that i want to make dresses, skirts, etc out of.
Your outfits in this video were all great. I love that you wear the stuff you've previously made. That's so cool.
Making them separate pieces - SMART!!!
I remember when you made those curtains
Wow!!!!!! I love all the construction techniques you used.... I am so envious of your wardrobe.
Oh my gosh you guys looked so cute together!
Beautiful
i love that once you’re on the boat the video has a subtle rock to it, made me a bit sea sick but definitely immersed 😂😂😂
