@@TwoAcresandaMule doing better as a civilization is a matter of perception. It is simple to say that a better civilization would be one free of fossil fuel use or extraction. The issue is that trying to get there now will cost thousands of blue collar workers their jobs, and the cost to go all battery or electric is exponentially greater to companies in the dirt world. It is far more expensive to bring a machine engine in to emissions compliance than it is for one to put solar panels on their home. ‘Civilization’ is doing just fine.
