  • This 6th video builds upon the first 5 - where I developed the DIY linear actuators for the digging arm and bucket plus power to the tracks as well as continuous rotation of the turntable - and completes the movement with another linear actuator to raise and lower the boom. The video is quite detailed and includes some of the processes I went through to develop the solution - to help you build your own & hopefully improve on what I did. Both at the start and towards the end of the video short running segments are included to test all of the elements and importantly see if it can dig (even though I am still getting used to the controls!). Pretty well complete now - although I may go back and power the second boom cylinder if adding another speed controller stops the binding when using a single ESC for two actuator motors - although to be honest I am pretty happy with how it is working & the huge range of travel that it has on all of the arm movements. As ever any thoughts or comments are most welcome - as they may help others too. Please feel free to post links to your excavator build (TH-cam / Facebook / website / whatever). And keep modding! 👍😀
    As I mentioned in one of the previous videos, I have recently set up, but not yet used a Twitter account ( / rcmodders ) which I am interested to see if this is helpful to the channel - I would be interested to hear suggestions on this - as I have never really used social media.
    Any thoughts and ideas that you have for me would be most welcome in the comments box. If you like this video and want to see more challenging ‘how to’ conversions, please like & subscribe. I have a whole bunch of Bruder models/toys waiting to be converted to radio control.🙂👍

    Great and very ingenious work. I’d love to see a video about the actuators with built in limiters that you mention in one of your replies. Best wishes. James.

      When I next get back to the builds I’ll certainly do this.

    Really awesome build! I really want to do this in time. I didnt know it was possible to do a controller mix. I will have to see if my Flyski will do that as that was one of my queries. Really inspiring. I might have to take a month off to get near to trying this. Greatwork. Thanks for sharing.

    Hello again , do you have a build Series on the truck pulling the trailer ? I'm wondering what your using to drive the 4 motors.
    Thank you for any help you can give
    Greg

      If you are talking about the Mack/Scania hauler trucks and low loader etc watch this space - as a comprehensive series on all the big trucks is coming to the channel soon! 😀👍

    Where might I be able to find tracks like those?

    • @RCModders
      @RCModders  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Those are standard Bruder tracks. Either part of the model or a fairly easy to get spare part. When I upgraded this model with 3D printed parts I added clip on 3D printed “track grippers’ which improve the traction in soil etc much more.

      @@RCModders Okay, thank you sir for the info on them and the track grippers; much obliged.

      I used 7. The small square red ones that are easy to find on amazon and ebay. In the latest version I've changed to 12v ones. The links are in the latest video description here: th-cam.com/video/93jzdDRneBQ/w-d-xo.html 😀👍

      Translation : "What is part of the diecast part? Or something else" - all ABS plastic I think. 😀👍

      How much is this? I don't build these things to sell. I have recently re made this model. You can see it here: th-cam.com/video/93jzdDRneBQ/w-d-xo.html

      Thank you for watching my video. I am not planning to sell this model or make any more of this. It took me a long time to do, but I wanted to show people one method of making a toy Bruder into an RC model. 🙂👍

      Thank you for your kind offer, but I don't really build these to sell - more to give other people ideas to do these for themselves. 😀👍
