I find myself getting so attached to Laurie that I went into the comments to make sure nothing bad happens to the pup. Lol you never know with Stephen King...
I work night shifts in a grocery store and I've started listening to all of his books. This story has made me smile and it gives me a warm, fuzzy feeling. Makes my shifts in this cold, florescent time warp a little more interesting ❤
Oh my goodness! When I first started listening I thought, Oooo! I love how the reader has that Maine twang - adds an extra layer of icing to this wonderful cake. I JUST started reading the comments to see who the reader is and if he has any other books as I love his voice. Low and behold, it is the king himself! Go figure! Explains the great Maine accent❤️
Such a coincedence I found this sweet story, by my favorite author, at a time I've been considering adopting another dog, almost 3 yrs after my chihuahua, Mimi passed away. I'm 63, and life has been alot more boring without her, so this story hits the feels, alot. Thank you "constant writer" from another "constant reader, now listener".
Mr. King has a sort of an almost "klicking" sound embedded in his way of speaking, it reminds me of the Khoisan tongues of africa. To me as a mix breed of Austrian, Persian, Méxican decent very intriguing. Thanks for sharing your voice, master of narrations! Yours Patrick from Vienna
No not supernatural just a dog like other dogs loyal, smart, protective and saves the lives of their human companions in all different kinds of ways, which makes the story so wonderful.💕🦮
Go back and listen again in a few days. It's a fine story of man that didn't have a reason to live, after losing his wife. A bundle of fur got him exercising, eating right, and enjoying sunsets again. Most important-he had someone to love again-even if it was a dog❤️

What a deeply profound story about fate, love lost, and gathered. You never know when God will save your life and in what way.
Really loved this one story & the ending was a complete surprise. Me. King's books are twice as entertaining when he's reading them.

Master storyteller!

Thank you very much, dear constant writer :o)
Damn!! great story. Laurie❤
Thank you Mr King🌹
I am bonded this way with my 2 feline daughters.
Woo...my heart!
good story
Aww im naming my next dog laurie
The girl who loved Tom Gordon is good too.
I'm suprised, i thought the dog was going to turn out supernatural or something.
My first thought was the dog would be his wife reincarnated.
King writes all types of stories. I love these sweet ones.
King is the master. A mundanely horrible tale.
No not supernatural just a dog like other dogs loyal, smart, protective and saves the lives of their human companions in all different kinds of ways, which makes the story so wonderful.💕🦮
Part 3 ?
My husband died of glioblastoma, like Lloyd's wife.
I'm so sorry ✌️🙏🤍Hope your doing well .I hate cancer
So sorry you lost your husband. I hope you've got family, friends and a beloved pet to help you through.
It was kind of "docile" for a Stephen King story. I guess it was cute though. A little disappointing.
Well today I need something docile as I've been sleeping 18 hours a day and just received my diagnosis of depression
@@ThePattibeth I'm sorry about your condition pls fight it and don't give up. ❤️
I agree the story was less intense unless ambitious than most Kings stories but it was a well enough damn little piece
@@lexibat7829 now that makes sense. I'm so use to King's demons vs angels type movies.

Stephen King of the useless detail...
Why are you here Hank? Already finished the chores your Mom gave you ? Go away Troll. The world has enough negativity.
A very long-winded and boring story.
boring
Grow up
