To get to that point is exceedingly rare, the process for pilot selection is very competitive and IFS/UPT will weed out nearly all who are not fit to fly. Yeah, idk what military he is talking about, but it isn't the US one. A pilot is never going to have to financially pay for an aircraft. Even if it's deemed malicious, the pilot at worse will spend years making big rocks into little rocks.
The army/pilot fights with a life that is priceless. When killed in battle, what do you give to them? When an accident occurs with a fighter jet, the government makes their life even more difficult.
There's no way a military pilot, or any pilot would have to compensate damage or loss of an aircraft. No pilot would ever have nearly enough to compensate any material value loss. And neither the military nor commercial airlines would be so foolish to think of having pilots compensate any aircraft damage. Disciplinary actions and risk of criminal charges are more than enough to keep any pilot with a functioning brain in check. Of course, the occasional nuthead exists. But there are other ways to handle those too.
@@nomnomNACHO It's the same. "Dishonorable Discharge" is for enlisted, but they call it "Dismissal" when it's officers. They would not get any benefits. Their only marketable skill would've been flying planes, but since no airline is going to hire them, they're pretty much unemployable.
