I saw her when she did the Camelot tour in 1962 in Chicago with Louis Hayward as King Arthur. Our high school had arrangements with the theaters to allow chorus members to see shows for free by doing small jobs. In this instance my friend and I worked the cloak room. The Shubert had us usher in the balcony. What a wonderful experience for young students to be able to see top-notch theater.
I adored her in film musicals. Quite magical. Her duet with Howard Keel in Showboat captivated me. I must have been a very immature 14 year old when I saw it at cinema. I never saw Kissing Bandit but have loved Frank Sinatra since hearing records in 1940s.
Katheryn Grayson had a marvelous voice. I enjoyed all her movies. She had quite a presence in front of the camera. I liked the fact she could look so very innocent while being attractive to her male leads.
A most beautiful and talented woman. If possible I try to always catch her musicals on TV. If her ending was "sad", it was most sad for her fans. Kathryn, by almost anyone's standards, led a remarkable, rewarding, happy and talent-filled life. What more could anyone ask for? I'm glad I can continue to appreciate her on TV. (Did the narrator call the opera, "Le BoMe"?)
Who she didn't like, and who nobody liked, was Oreste Kirkup, who was her co star in the dreadful Vagabond King. According to Zsa Zsa Gabor, she had a relationship with Lanza. But who cares??
I just saw her in 3 movies. I like old movies. I watch TCM. Last week I saw her in, It happened in Brooklyn, Showboat & That Midnight Kiss. I just saw The Kissing Bandit with Frank Sinatra. Her singing was beautiful. She looked so beautiful in that film. Frank looked handsome & his singing was good too. I’m sick of the new movies, so I’m enjoying ones I never saw before.
Informative video, but why did you give it such an unsuitable title? There seems to have been nothing strange or tragic about her passing at a mature age. Do you just invent something 'mysterious and senational' in order to attract viewers? It's off-putting.
American Legends Tribute should not use whoever recorded this, or should have made them re-record. Anyone who doesn't know how to pronounce La Boheme should be in a different line of work.
Oh Dear God. Would you people GIVE IT UP. These commercials used to be on during the day time while the retirees like my grandparents were sitting home. Guys, if you have retiree health problems in your mid life, you're drinking too much GD Alcohol and taking too many PILLS! Oh My God1 Love, Don xoxo
Chronic? Chronic back pain and other Chronic health conditions are probably related to being retired in your 60s and sitting in the same chair all day watching tv. I'm not sure how many people have pensions that they retire young and sit in a chair through their 60s. CIA, how much CHRONIC back pain do we now have? Love, Don xoxo
To me her best work on screen was when partnered wit Mario Lanza. Thank you for this tribute!
One of the loveliest ladies - and singers - who ever graced the screen… ⭐️💖⭐️
Her voice in the Desert Song alongside Gordon Macrae was at its peak. A great singer indeed.
Thank you for this tribute 💖

❤Thanks toall of youfor presenting our favorite Broadway musicals
She was the best Howard Keel was the best partner and they love each other
But - in interviews, she said she worked well with Mario. Said they had lots if laughs while filming.
And she kept close contact with him and, after his death, with his family… Why would she do so when she couldn‘t stand him?
@@hrbooksmusic7878 I don't believe this rumours for a minute, but whatever the case may be, their chemistry on screen is obvious.

I agree!!! 👍⭐️😊

My late mother always announced, when she saw Kathryn Grayson: "She's wall-eyed!"
What was strange and sad about it?? She had a great career on film and on the stage, and passed away at 88 in her sleep. Who writes this garbage???
Garbage is right.
As the video tells us, there was nothing sad about Kathryn Grayson's life. And was she great in 'Anchors Aweigh'!

This sounds like a computer-generated voice.
Who on earth did this commentary!

And guess who pitched her idea of Murder She Wrote to the TV studios? YUP our darling Kathryn! They stole the idea from her!
Many people pass away in their sleep, nothing strange about that.
Clickbait title for a life well lived. Too bad you mangled pronouncing La Bohème. Otherwise excellent content
What' so sad about a life that lasted 88 years. Stop false headlines .
Clickbait title - not surprising. Clicking "Don't Recommend Channel" in 3...2...1...
Kathryn Grayson died aged 88, not 82 (2010-2022=88) [grisha 87Yo,Bucharest]
You mean 1922-2010.
American Legends Tribute should not use whoever recorded this, or should have made them re-record. Anyone who doesn't know how to pronounce La Boheme should be in a different line of work.
Is is really that "strange" that she died in her sleep, in her 80s... Seems pretty natural, in fact.
Actually Kathryn is only 2 months 5 days younger than Deanna Durbin and not a year

Why not call this the life without adding the words sad ending? We fans love what do on screen, that's what counts.
Clickbait title. Computer-generated voice. This trash is all over TH-cam
Nothing sad or strange about her ending. Fraud.
Little babe
