    Great to see the new reign! I’m 51 yrs old, 125kg and have no ligaments in my right leg/knee… my 21 giant trance e has changed my life….
    Losing weight (10kg so far) and getting back on a bike after 30 years….
    Love riding again
    And now learning to jump 😆

    I love ebike’s contribution to the cycling community. Whether it’s for fun or just commuting, no doubt that ebike gives just the right amount of push for a lot of people to get their butt on the bike seat to begin with or to be able to push themselves further without burning them out of cycling. I’ve bought ebike a couple weeks ago, and I will say it’s one the best decision that I’ve done in a while. Now I’m able to have more fun cycling everyday without exhausting myself with daily life’s struggle and still have the benefit of cycling. Thanks Paul, your video is one of the reason on why now I use ebike.

    I just got an ebike. I got the Liv Embolden E +2. I love it so much. I dumped the entry level fork for a Fox Fit 4 and swapped out a few other things and now this bike is so capable. I’m really enjoying the ebike life.

    Recently picked up my first EMTB after I found a crack in my Giant Reign Advance 0's frame. As I bought it second hand I wasn't covered by warranty. So a decision had to be be made get another acoustic I loved my Reign!) or spend extra now on the EMTB. So I got myself a low km Norco Range VLT C2 2020. What can I say, all the things you say in this video are what I am experiencing. There is some bad (well when I say bad I mean mild irritants) - it is a big heavy bike with a loooong wheel base, I hate the 25 kph limit we have here in Australia - I commute to my ride and that limit just sucks. There are some others that I wont get into but lets just say the pros far outweigh the cons! I am riding way more and have actually started losing weight (not that I was carrying that much extra pork)! Love you vids keep em' coming.

    I'm happy for you, glad you enjoy the eeb so much :) I hope for you that Giant will make a lightweight ebike similar to the rise. It's fantastic, it really is. You have the power of eeb but not the weight that can make some descends slightly less fun than they would otherwise be.

    I was going to say welcome to the dark side but there is no dark side about riding ebikes. So welcome to the fun side. I’m on my second ebike in the last 20 months. Trek Rail. Absolutely love it. Glad you having so much fun on your ebike. And with an ebike there is no such thing as oops I went the wrong way. I bet a lot of Mtb youtubers will make the switch to ebikes because you can make more content ( cover more ground.

    Looks like the '22 Reign. Sick bike. I just scored a '22 TranceX Advanced E+ pro2. Haven't even rode a mile yet. Your video tips will definitely help . I ride clipless on a yt Jeffsy, but for the trance I'm gonna try flats. I never liked the power loss riding flats and pedal strikes can be worse, so I'll keep it in the high position and experiment. Gotta watch out for those shin slitting pins! My wife rode it around our local lake and came back with a wound above her knee. Pedal hit her while pushing it on the trail. She said I need to grind the pins down.

    Most trail systems will do a yearly enduro - or some other form of race - to raise funds for trail maintenance. If you can't volunteer your time or sweat equity - go ahead and pay to sign up for that race. Lives don't hang in the balance and you'll give them much needed funds (and usually get some great free swag from donor companies) and support your trail system. I don't race, but do enter these events and flog around in the back happily.

    I really don't like the way that E-Bikes are becoming so sleek to look at. Now I don't have the "They are too bulky" argument anymore. If they keep this going, I might have to get one myself one day.

    As someone who is trying to get into clips, I REALLY am struggling with trying to feel confident on skinnies and features that are higher off the ground. I don't have the confidence to bail and get my feet out in time to save myself from a nasty fall.. Tips??

    • @lforrest14
      @lforrest14 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Unfortunately there are no good tips, just practice. Riding over and over. I had the same feeling as you early on. A big plus though comes with being more secure when things get sketchy. You can see on videos like "fail friday" so many MTB wrecks come from feet coming off the pedal, and I know my arse has been saved a few times by being clipped in where as if my foot came off I would have went down. I will take that over worrying about skinnies (and it gets better in that regards).

    • @PaulThePunter
      @PaulThePunter  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Fear comes from not knowing whats going to happen. Right now you are at the beginning of using them, so you don't know how quickly you can guarantee you're going to come out of them. Through practice and repetition, you're just going to get used to it! I can't remember it taking that long to get to the point where you can pop in and out whenever I liked.....that's the advice!

    • @dylansmyth
      @dylansmyth 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@lforrest14 I absolultey love them on the descents. I have no qualms there, and have felt improvement in my body position since not being able to cheat by putting a foot down in sections. My worst falls have been on the climbs, and when I get tripped up on something. Just fall right over! More practice I guess. My bike was pristine before I started clipless, and now its SO scratched up haha.
