You are 100% right. I was a hobby dj some 10 years back but I stopped doing it because I wasn’t getting any better. Then, one day I came across one of DJ Carlo’s videos and I started to feel like I can try this again. 2 months later, bought a new controller, headphones, software, subscriptions and started mixing. I learned in 1 month of watching Carlo’s videos more then I could have never imagined. Big kudos and thanks. Perfect way of keeping it short and simple, but still detailed enough so that we understand it. ❤
I love this tutorial. When I watched your set from the Redbull 3threeplay competition, I was amazed not only on how well you do tone play, but how many times you did it and how you used it to crossover from so many different genres on music.
finally someone did a proper tutorial on tone play I've been watching dj city tone play videos for about a year now and was still lost on how to even start 1 but now I get it
I knew how to do this even before seeing your video. But seeing that creativity is satisfying enough ! Thx for the video 😀 FYI (Edited) : This video definitely reminded me of Deadmau5 tone playing Martin Garrix's Animals, much to the surprise of everyone
You probably dont care at all but does any of you know of a method to log back into an Instagram account? I stupidly forgot the account password. I would love any help you can offer me!
This is pretty cool. Its gotta be kind of hard to do this on the fly during a live set based on the tedious nature of getting the tone/key right of the two songs.
YOO this is dope cause only this week i have been working on some tone plays. You should do a vid on how to make a Thre3style routine or how you made yours.
Tks Dj, for posting this one that I suggested, was very useful for me. And I got a question. For Tune Play, we must combine the key tunes or don't worry about it? Tks again!!
Yea tone play good queremos aprender y eres el primero en sacar una buena explicación de personas como tu se aprende disculpa no ingles sigue adelante te saluda dj seyco desde el sslvador
The cue points for Tom's Dinner are 1. 00:05.35 2. 00:10.45 3. 00:06.30 4. 00:03.62 All of these points are approximate so play around to see where it works best.
No problem. My friends thought it was really cool, when I showed it to them after learning it, and wanted to learn how I did it. So thank you a bunch and keep making awesome videos!
Nice videos again! :) Can you do a video about Drop Mixing / Dropping On The One (no intro tracks) without to lose energy? I have the feeling, that every time when I practice, I lose the energy with the new track. Maybe it's not possible with every track.
DJ Carlo Atendido Well I play the most time Afrobeats and Dancehall. But I think, it would be also good to show it with hip hop or pop tracks. The most important question is for me, how not to decrease the energy with the new track. Or it’s only my feeling.
Hi, I really appreciate your work and I enjoy watching your videos and my question is that how do we set up those pads. I would appreciate if you would make a video on it. Thanks,
One day you will be called as a legend,,, I'm very much inspired by you buddy,,, I love your way of teaching,,, you are my role model Carlo buddy,,, keep on inspiring us,,, I developed alot of techniques. And my talent in djing has been improved,,, this is all because of you,,,,your the best❤️,, love you buddy,,, keep doing your stuff
Awesome lesson again, thanks a lot! I've got a question, not really connected to this topic, but to the controller you're using. I see it only has RCA output, so I've been wondering if you can connect it to bigger speakers (by using adapters for example), or it's just for home practice. I'm about to buy my first gear, a DDJ SB3, but I don't want it for home practice... so what do you think, could I use it for gigs as well?
thanx for accepting my request on tone play.......such a wonderful tutorial....and i have a question for you too.... is there any software available that can identify all the keynotes of the song so that toneplay could become less time consuming
hey i got an idea that could make toneplay easy......if you are familiar with fl studio there's a plugin known as newtone one could put the song over there and he would be know all the keynotes of the song
They are different. Toneplay is about playing the tones within a song, while pitch play is manipulating a song's sample and changing it's pitch. It's like toneplay but cheating lol
@@djcarlo ohhhh!!! I get it now. So you can basically do tone play with just cue points while pitch play takes the same actual tone and manipulates it digitally. I get it now! Man, I just realized we were doing tone play on the laptop with Serato when it first came out and we didn't have performance pads. Thank you for clarifying and answering my question. Super helpful! You da bomb DJ Carlo!!!
Hi, congratulations on your videos! How do you turn hot cues into cue points in this video? I mean how does the song not start every time you press hot cues?
New Lesson to start practcing this weekend :D amazing vlog clean nd easy to start practcing bro i hope soon you teach us how to organise a 5 or 15 min for a redbull 3style i like to make it for us easy nd not compicated :D like always........have a nice weekend Brotherr :)
How do you set the hot cues to only play while the button is pressed? I think mine are set up to continue playing until paused or another cue point is selected.
Super cool tutorial thanks Dj Carlo Atendido. Can i suggest on your next video, that you can teach me how to use loop to create a Live build up set using ddj rb because, i have no idea how to build a very nice loop in ddj rb. Because i have seen in your last video that you are using a ddj rr controller.
Love your videos and always find them helpful :) One question: What do you think, is it ok to prepare nearly a whole set, as a beginner DJ, when you play your first gigs?
Hey there! If you can click on the information ( i ) icon located on the top right, there's a link taking you to the Lesson Pack! You can do learn how to do the exact mix! Cheers!
Hey, thanks for really helping me out learning the beginnings of how to DJ. I wonder if en how you make use of samples when playing? I use the same software and hardware but I can't figure out how to make decent use of it... Thanks anyways!
I know it takes work! You actually could’ve made it right on the pitch if you changed the Suzanne Vega song down two semi-tones and just arrange the three highest notes that she sings in the melody.😁
This is 100% is the best Dj channel on TH-cam
I absolutely agree. Carlo is helping me very much :) Thank you very much for that Carlo! ♥
Cunku o en iyisi👏

You’re welcome! Hope you get to have some fun with the tone play!

one of the best dj's in my opinion :D
How do you make the cue points stop after holding them down?
It should be in the settings! Check my video on Best DJ Settings; I believe I detailed it there :)
This is an awesome video. It's one that I've been looking for for a while. Thank you. I feel it separates the DJs from the artists.
You probably dont care at all but does any of you know of a method to log back into an Instagram account?

Real dope! Thanks for sharing!
I remembered this part in redbull championship hehe! Such a helpful tutorial! Thank you dj carlo! :)

Hi, congratulations on your videos!
How do you turn hot cues into cue points in this video?
I mean how does the song not start every time you press hot cues?

Hie i have a question. How do you set your cue points so that they cut and don't continue playing when you press the performance pad?
Same question 🙏🏻
How is done the end effect, that delay that sounds when a song is lowered?
Hi! Can you list down the time each cue on toms diner track:)
brilliant stuff! What software do you use to edit semi-charmed kind of life?
what definition did you put on rekordbox that doesn't allowed the tom's dinner track to continue while you were playing?
Thanks bro. I'm gonna take a lot o practice to do that..Lol
Hi, the song bpm keep change as the song goes up or down. What could be the problem?😢
I....don't know how to answer this because the BPM is supposed to change when DJing. Can you elaborate bud?
Love your videos and always find them helpful :)
One question: What do you think, is it ok to prepare nearly a whole set, as a beginner DJ, when you play your first gigs?
I got the RB also but...when I touch my cue-points...the music starts playing..how do you do that please?thanx

Best laptop for djing for beginners?
I know it takes work! You actually could’ve made it right on the pitch if you changed the Suzanne Vega song down two semi-tones and just arrange the three highest notes that she sings in the melody.😁
Oh interesting take! Thanks for your suggestion!
hey good video. i am dj from Uruguay and i am starting uploading videos too. What programm do you use to record the screen?
DJ Carlo Atendido thanks man !! I will use it!
