"This ancient brew came about following the discovery of a 3,250 year-old recipe found in Queen Nefertiti’s Royal Brewery in Egypt. The discovery was made by Cambridge archaeologist Dr. Barry Kemp in 1990 and led to just 1,000 bottles being made according to its recipe.
Ten brewing chambers were found buried beneath the Egyptian sand, each containing traces of ancient beer residue. An electron microscope was used to complete the ancient recipe paper with researchers then teaming up with Scottish brewer Jim Merrington, who made just 1,000 bottles of the Queen’s brew. The first sold for £4,616 ($7,686), but eventually fell to around £31 ($52). Merrington’s brewery later closed down"

Some archaeologists have said some ancient Egyptian beer could be made ¨thick¨ like a fermented porridge.
I have a lot of questions about the use of alcoholic drinks in ancient civilisations. For one thing, it seems like a waste of grain which would be more filling as bread. What was done with the mash after fermentation? Was it fed to animals or used by humans? The Egyptians were said to be rich in resources and able to export grain so maybe it was not a big deal in that society?
Also, research I have read about beers and ales in ancient times or even times like Tudor England, claim the alcohol content was probably similar to what is found in modern beer. In Tudor times workers at the royal court might be allotted almost a gallon of ale/day. Those who turned the spits in Henry VIII´s kitchens were allowed more because they sweated so much. So, if the alcohol content was similar to modern beer, were people drunk most of the time?
Also there is quite a bit of recent research that shows heavy consumption of alcohol over long periods of time leads to neurological disorders. In the old times young people consumed alcoholic beverages yet look at the recent research claiming that if a ¨child¨ under 21 years--or 26 according to some extremists IMO--has even a small amount of alcohol, brain damage will ensue. Is it not more likely that the ancient ales and beers were fermented quickly and had low alcohol content?
I suppose we could balance some of these medical opinions against people in ancient times having shorter lifespans, perhaps dying of a plague before chronic alcohol consumption caused problems. Yet if alcohol is so damaging to ¨children¨, surely the ancients would not have fed their kids something that created idiots? (Hypoglycemia, possibly resulting in brain damage is one effect of alcohol in young children.) Yet the water was unsafe to drink so surely beer was better. Or, was the water boiled before brewing, thus sterilizing it and making alcohol content unimportant?
Recent research also points to early and chronic alcohol consumption causing addiction. How was this handled in ancient times? There are some Egyptian writings that speak negatively about actual drunkenness. I would presume some people would be unable to control their alcohol intake then just as it is now?
IMO, the alcohol content must have been fairly low but that is just my opinion and I would like to learn more.

Not to start a dispute , I heard any time you store alot of grain , your one rain from making beer , wheat barley rice corn , also mice must be stopped also, birds ,worms, an ergot. Warm wet grain rots ,apple peals have a good yeast , fermentation is simple but not fool proof . Any berry any fruit would do for flavors.

The Egyptians did not create beer. Not provably. Evidence of beer making is found at sites in ancient Mesopotamia/Sumeria that pre-date Egypt.
I don't have any idea why they would misrepresent this fact. They also claim this building in Egypt is the oldest known in the world, and that is no longer a fact at all.
Oldest written beer recipe; that claim is fair.
Ancient Egypt making beer? Still interesting....
But poorly researched information passed out as fact is embarrassing.

These Timeline docs are quite old and sensational in a sense, beer was known in Sumer so this is kind of a clickbait. I'd take all Timeline documents with a hefty grain of salt when they talk about people being bestest ever and doing it first, as new research has debunked many of those, or they are just plainly saying that some guys were kind of warmachines while forgetting the diplomacy and political intrigue in the background.
