I do feel this sim needs some achievements and a sort of career mode. For example: we should have to go to flight school and earn our licenses and we should be graded on flights and progress through each craft with flight hours. Would make it even more insanely fun!
Or it could just be a flight sim; where you, you know....go to fly in a simulator? ATS is like that and I found myself using mods to level me up after 45 seconds to get right to the good stuff. Don't wanna run crappy equipment there, and don't wanna do it here. To each their own, I suppose. 👍
This game is insane. I started flying in the Himalayas, I think hours ago, and I'm still in the Himalayas. It makes you appreciate the world and it's vastness even more. Damn!
Very similar low FPS problem in some specific locations was already happening on PC like 2 updates back, and was fixed shortly. I wouldn't worry. Asobo is VERY communicative studio.

Plying this on Series S and it’s wonderful. There’s pop in and can tell the density of detail isn’t what it is on Series X I’m sure….. but it’s still amazing and challenging/awe-inspiring…..fun
If it's any salve for the PC players here, the next game update will have CPU optimisations that will help it run heaps better, thanks ot the development worked done to allow it to run on Xbox. It'll come out this week too.

Nah, these games are the easiest games to make. You're never going up close to anything on the ground so there's no need for super detailing. As is it looks great, but a technical marvel is something like TLOU2 or RDR2, where everything is flawless and living up close.

I find the game relaxing and addicting. I set a destination that was about 40 min away and I thought there was no way that I would fly the entire flight time but I actually did......except I can't land correctly.
The exact reasoning for gamepass lol. I hated racing games until I randomly downloaded Forza Horizon 4 the day of its release, I immediately fell in love with it and it cost me $0. If I had to pay I would’ve never played it.
There are settings to make the flying super-simple (more lenient physics, controls correcting themselves, starting flight in mid-air, even an autopilot if you just want to "see" things...though on PC the autopilot had habits of acting questionable). If you're afraid of complexity, there's a ton of help provided. My biggest recommendation is to start with a smaller plane or, if you want to see from HIGH up, get the Boeing, start mid-air and go autopilot right away. Even on easier settings the bulky nature of the larger planes can be tough to pilot.
That "Flying over New York, is a sight to behold. Paris, San Francisco, Italy, London, Australia, Florida. Okay, may be not Florida.." Had me wheezing. That being said, can't wait to fly over my tiny village in India.
Got my xbox series x yesterday. Went over and flew over the home I grew up in, a farm near a small village in Devon uk. The hedges and fields and lane I used to walk my dog up and down were correct. It blew my mind.
Wait dude, don’t play this game without VR on a console, don’t settle with that. Respect yourself and treat you nicely, take seat in the cockpit and actually fly a plane instead of remote controlling a drone in your living room
Xbox is fantastic, I own both series x and Ps5, however my Ps5 has become pretty loud just like my ps4 did, it crashes more than my xbox and ps now in comparison with game pass is awful, xbox is absolutely brilliant value for money gamepass alone can keep you entertained for years
I bought an Xbox just for this game and it does not disappoint. As a lifelong PS guy I’m all in on MSFS on the Xbox. I could take off and land at my local airports all day long
Was in the beta on PC awhile back, everything maxed out, took off from Miami flew out over the ocean into a storm at sunset. Honestly the greatest graphical achievement I’ve seen in videogames period, it was insane. Btw play this on a LG OLED if you can

A fast internet - connection is THE key for good graphics in this game, like mentioned in this review. I think Asobo did a pretty great job here to make the game run on the Series consoles while maintaining it's beauty. Keep in mind that the performance could be improved further with later updates as the current-gen moves on.
Here's the truth...this game has the best graphics and the biggest map ever on a console. This is more than a game...it's an experience and you won't regret buying a Series X. With GamePass...you don't really have to buy games and there's a special where you can get 3 months for $1

This looks amazing. This, Forza Horizon 5 and MechWarrior 5 give me about all I want in the sim/go anywhere do anything space. The only thing we need now is a modern remake of Chuck Yeager's Air Combat and my life would be complete. And maaaybe Red Baron/Aces Over Europe/the Pacific.

I consider this the first game to really start pushing the flow of Xbox console exclusives. The Ascent is next in a few days then Forza and Halo. After 5 or so years of waiting for the exclusive games to show up, they are finally starting to come in.
Excited to Finally get this on my series x day 1 box. It’s a shame so many people are still having issues getting a console all these months later. Going to try it In 4K and on a large projector in 1080p to see about the immersive experience without having a VR experience.
If you guys did not know, you can pre load the game on the Xbox game pass app on your Xbox. You cannot search it up, you have to scroll down to “coming soon”

I did my IRL discovery flight about 2 weeks ago. I picked up this game and the Logitech set (yoke, rudders, and flight instruments) and man...this game really tries to mimic (minus the feel on the rudders). 10/10
I’m not very much into flight sims (I like racing from arcade to sim games). I have not watched the review yet. The thing I hope for is that this sim for an noob like me will be able to create this nice zen like experience I had previously in ets2 or snow runner.
The sim is not only for real veteran sim players but for casual arcade players also, you can change your play style to arcade, so you dont need to worry about all buttons in plane and much more, its very customizable in terms of how you want to play.
This game is extremely complex, the graphic and the scale are only two aspects, people usually underestimate the complexity of aviation, this include the areodynamic, the aircraft system, the aviation rules. I bet even Asobo didn't anticipate the simulation part can be this complex and you can't just make these thinks up yourself like in other games.
I have an S and my son has an X. It looks amazing on my S! The X has better resolution and slightly improved draw distance but that's about all I could see. With that being said, I am very happy with this on the S and it looks ten times better than anything on my xbox one. Whether you have an X or S you are going to be floored!
@@2284090 - I don't have a 4k monitor since the sitting distance I wouldn't be able to tell the difference. At 1440p with everything at ultra I'm at 60fps.
It's 30fps for TVs/monitors that don't have VRR. It can hit up to 60fps fairly consistently if you have that setup, so it's mostly due to your display instead of what the game is actually capable of.
I started on 27th on xbox series x. I loaded up my nearest small airport and couldn‘t believe it. The weather nailed, the mood nailed, everything nailed. I will spend so much time in this 😅
Everyone talking about how it looks, nobody talking about how it plays. Like how landing gear won't descend in landing challenges sometimes, how bush trips are just flat out broken, crashes, reboots, the list goes on.
This is by far the best review of the console (Series X) version. This gives a good idea what this console can achieve with this simulation. For whatever reason some other reviews have been somewhat lacking in showing visuals (undoubtedly deliberately on a couple) with the Series X.
I have been wanting to build a pc since last year when this game was announced. But chip shortages didn’t let me. Now that I already have a series X, I am able to enjoy this amazing game! Waiting for the hotas one to be delivered next week and then it will be even more awesome!

Excellent review dude. Clearly communicated, lighthearted, but not stupid, informative without getting bogged down with typical (professional) review pointless fluff. I'll be waiting for a Series X to be available and/or, whichever comes first, the introduction of helicopters. Interesting that the truck sim is mentioned. I can't help but think if the developers could add, even at an extra cost, a management sim, whereby start with a small plane and build up to an airline company, whatever, they would more than cover their development costs.

As someone use has this on PC and a 3080, to see this running how it does on console is great for those who can't/don't want to get a beast PC to fly.
This is not something I would play, but man this looks spectacular, great review.

I've been doing the bush trips in this game since it dropped on Xbox. It's fun to just fly around the world and seeing all the landmarks.

@GiRayne I don’t think they will have it on the XB1. I recall hearing somewhere that this will be MS first true next gen game. If I’m wrong, I will gladly by it for my xb1x.

It took "the power of the cloud" about 8 extra years to finally come to consoles. But, it looks like the wait was definitely worth it.

I’ve got this on Series X. I’ve only visited places in Michigan.... it hasn’t even registered to me that the map is the whole US yet alone the whole entire freakin world
I did my IRL discovery flight about 2 weeks ago. I picked up this game and the Logitech set (yoke, rudders, and flight instruments) and man...this game really tries to mimic (minus the feel on the rudders). 10/10
How expensive was the privilege of irl flight?
@@CoercedJab My discovery was only 100$ in MD. They generally range from 100-150 for 30 mins of ground and 30 mins the sky.

I’m not very much into flight sims (I like racing from arcade to sim games). I have not watched the review yet. The thing I hope for is that this sim for an noob like me will be able to create this nice zen like experience I had previously in ets2 or snow runner.
The sim is not only for real veteran sim players but for casual arcade players also, you can change your play style to arcade, so you dont need to worry about all buttons in plane and much more, its very customizable in terms of how you want to play.

This game is extremely complex, the graphic and the scale are only two aspects, people usually underestimate the complexity of aviation, this include the areodynamic, the aircraft system, the aviation rules. I bet even Asobo didn't anticipate the simulation part can be this complex and you can't just make these thinks up yourself like in other games.

I have an S and my son has an X. It looks amazing on my S! The X has better resolution and slightly improved draw distance but that's about all I could see. With that being said, I am very happy with this on the S and it looks ten times better than anything on my xbox one. Whether you have an X or S you are going to be floored!

@@2284090 - I don't have a 4k monitor since the sitting distance I wouldn't be able to tell the difference. At 1440p with everything at ultra I'm at 60fps.

Graphically looks a total stunner. Bit bummed it's only 30fps as gotten so used to 60+ these days. Still can't wait to play it once it's out!
You don't need as much frame rates in flight simulators as action packed games do
It's 30fps for TVs/monitors that don't have VRR. It can hit up to 60fps fairly consistently if you have that setup, so it's mostly due to your display instead of what the game is actually capable of.

Very sad to see there are frame lags going on. Looks like it still needs heaps of work before it's right.
This is by far the best review of the console (Series X) version. This gives a good idea what this console can achieve with this simulation.
For whatever reason some other reviews have been somewhat lacking in showing visuals (undoubtedly deliberately on a couple) with the Series X.
I have been wanting to build a pc since last year when this game was announced. But chip shortages didn’t let me. Now that I already have a series X, I am able to enjoy this amazing game! Waiting for the hotas one to be delivered next week and then it will be even more awesome!

Looks fantastic. If I had an Xbox I'd buy it. What would be cool on any platform would be something like a cross between this game and Pilot Wings from the SNES. I absolutely loved that game.

Excellent review dude. Clearly communicated, lighthearted, but not stupid, informative without getting bogged down with typical (professional) review pointless fluff.
I'll be waiting for a Series X to be available and/or, whichever comes first, the introduction of helicopters. Interesting that the truck sim is mentioned. I can't help but think if the developers could add, even at an extra cost, a management sim, whereby start with a small plane and build up to an airline company, whatever, they would more than cover their development costs.
Downloading to my series X and ordering Hotas 1 flight stick from BB....I....cant.....wait!!
