So glad to hear about Ruby's provision being extended through GCSE! Thank you for sharing all those beautiful fabrics with us! Have you seen the Karla loungewear set by swimstyle patterns? There are lovely wide legged, relaxed joggers in that set.
I am sorry to hear about your dad, but what a relief to have school sorted for Ruby. Hope your dad recovers quickly and all is quiet at home for a bit.
I. don't know how you managed to achieve anything while dealing with bureaucracy. My son has special needs and I know what it is like fighting a system.I am in Wales so things are different here but the fight is worth it when you get the results you want.I don't know if it is the same where you live but often they are discussing college placement in February so make sure you check that .I found it physically and emotionally exhausting so I am glad crochet helped you. When teaching people to crochet I found the first thing to emphasise is to hold the hook and yarn how you feel comfortable. Then learning how to control tension becomes easy. Your fabrics are amazing and the green fields one either needs to be a dress or it would make a fab long length cardi to go with the plain green lounge set you want to make.Add on your green beret and you'll have an amazing outfit.
Yes yes yes please help with crochet. I've started lots of things but then get stuck so give up. I've been making a cardi since September and I've made so many mistakes on the ribbing. I need all the help I can get. I do look forward to your Sunday vlogs 😊
Wow you have so much on right now, I hope you're ok? I totally get the not having headspace for seeing - that's me right now too. You have such fab plans and i love how excited you get about your projects! I hope you get time for some sewing this week ❤
I'd love to hear more about crochet-- I'm going to start learning soon. I found Hopeful Turns here on YT to be helpful. That wide-legged jogger pattern you want? I believe in her most recent Friday Sews, Becky from What Bec Sews here on YT made a pair with the LB Pullover. I can't recall the pattern she used. Sewing & the City has cool-looking patterns-- she also has a YT channel that's neat. All the best to you & your family during such a difficult, overwhelming time.
Thank you so much for the lovely shout out! I’d love a video about what you’ve found to help with crochet. I’m learning to knit right now but am VERY intimidated by crochet. I’d like to know how to do both is I’m going to have yarn around 🤷🏻♀️ I recently raided a pair of wide leg lounge pants from my mom’s wardrobe and absolutely need more in my life. The Winnies from Maid by Mermaids seem to fit the bill but I haven’t looked into them very much yet. Tania from Just Let Me Sew has made them up and is having another go at them so I may wait and see how she likes the second pair she comes up with.
I would love a 'learning to crochet' vlog. I have tried but I just can't do it!!! Well done for battling the system. I have been there and know its exhausting! and I too have parent problems Hugs
I have made the joggers from Simplicity 9272 and love the style and fit. They have pockets, an easy waistband and straight leg fit. It might be just what you’re looking for. 😊
Love your makes and thought the red dress beautiful and does not make you look like Mrs Christmas! I don’t know the cardigan pattern but as soon as I saw it on you I thought the fabric was too thick and not drapey enough to be worn in the way I think you want to wear it. I think it looks nice on you and could be used as a coatigan when it is not as cold as it has been and not something to put a coat over the top. I don’t know if that helps but I think it is a lovely make!
I would love to see a crochet video. I taught myself to crochet while in college as a zen sort of activity. And I graduated in 1973…….so, needless to say, I need help picking it back up.
My LB matches yours, added 3 inches to the sleeves and 4 to the bodice.... am thinking of adding a kangaroo pouch pocket 🤔 love your crochet the wool is fab too. Good news about Ruby's school ❤.
I saw something the other day that made me think of you. It’s called a Granny Square Blocking Board. A wooden board with lots of equally spaced holes and metal pins that’s used to block granny squares so that are exactly the same size. You may already know about them. You are so productive with your limited sewing time. I hope to get there someday.
The Made for mermaid Winnnie trousers (joggers) are the best smart but so comfy I love them there wide legs with pockets with a really cute pleat/piping effect on the front!! 👌👌 I have made quite a few pairs now! x
I made the New Horizons Patterns Lanai Loungers out of sweatshirt fabric and really like them. Ji find that they make up a bit big, but that was what i wanted in sweat pants, and they have lovely wide legs, and deep pockets.
Love your vlogs, you’re so productive. Good news about your daughter. All your fabrics are gorgeous, interested to see what you make with the animal print. Seeing some crochet tips would be great x
the lounge set pattern from pattydoo is beautiful and cheap too. The trousers are wide legged. Always love to watch you tutorials. Thank you for sharring your sewing journey
Fabulous news regarding Rubys schooling , well done for fighting her corner . Hope your father improves it sounds like he is good hands with your mum and sister . I also like your necklace and like someone else said it does remind me of fruit polos too . Love your skirt . I hope that you manage to have a better week Liz . Lovely vlog as usual x x x
The joggers I was recommended the sweatpants joggers from Sarah Kirsten by the tutor from Guthrie Ghani. I made them and they are great. I don’t put the cuff on.
I love the colours of your jumper and necklace together on you. You look gorgeous in it. And that skirt is just so much fun too. It needs to be worn with your pompom waistcoat (or was it a jumper?) that you plan to make. The textures would be wonderful together.
Yes, I would enjoy a video of your progression with crochet. Very glad that you are pleased with Ruby’s school. Always enjoy your very creative makes.
Hi Liz so glad you were successful at getting the help tat was needed. I would love your crochet video but only when you have time. Xxx
Great news about Ruby’s school, must be a huge relief for all of you 😊

Lovely fabrics. The leopard print for me is camel colour. It would look fab as a shacket. Lydia Naomi has a lovely pattern.
Thanks for sharing your week with us, it’s really great news about Ruby. The yarn and fabrics you’re using are fabulous. 🧶🌈🍓💙

Would love to see your crochet journey as you encouraged me to have a go. I really enjoy it, although very much a novice.

You have come such a long way in crochet in such a short time. I am very impressed! I would definitely watch a crochet video.
I love crochet. At this stage I’ve only made amigurumi characters and granny squares. Making a garment scares me …
Highly recommend the Madeformermaids Winnie wide leg pants for the joggers you want to make.
My LB matches yours, added 3 inches to the sleeves and 4 to the bodice.... am thinking of adding a kangaroo pouch pocket 🤔 love your crochet the wool is fab too. Good news about Ruby's school ❤.
I can’t get my head round crochet! I’d be grateful for any info! Thanks !

sewing and the city also has a lovely youtube channel, she uses lots of thrifted fabrics for her creations.
I would very much like to learn to crochet. A video would be great

Love your makes super cool your crocheting has come a long way since you started it congratulations have a great week 😊😊😊
Hi Liz, try the Karla loungewear pattern from Swimstyle pattern for the loose joggers! Thank you for your vlog. Katrina x
The joggers I was recommended the sweatpants joggers from Sarah Kirsten by the tutor from Guthrie Ghani. I made them and they are great. I don’t put the cuff on.
You could make the Derwent trousers by Wendy ward.. they are so comfortable and a easy make..
I'm amazed that you got anything done. Sending big hugs 🤩
Maybe the Karla pants by Swim style for straight leg joggers. I’ve made them up and they were fab!
Hi Liz. I’d be interested in a crochet video.
Lovely video Liz, so sorry to hear you’ve had a tough week. I hope things pick up for you 🥰

Crochet video would be helpful. I had a try a couple of years ago and couldn't get into it.
Have you ever washed Sherpa fabric before? I have found that it can become hard. What has your experience been?
