- The Mirage is an iconic part of the Las Vegas strip and has been since it opened in 1989. The lush gardens, waterfalls, and volcano show are Las Vegas staples, so it is a shame that they will be gone forever in a matter of weeks (It will be turned into a Hard Rock Hotel).
This was my first and unfortunately last stay at this iconic resort. I cannot say enough good things about this property. The food, the service, and the design of this hotel were all great. I was very pleasantly surprised by how nice I felt this bathroom in our room was for this price point. The only downfall of this resort was that our room felt worn. I would not say it was particularly dated, but there were many signs of past guests including scratches, dents, and scuffs.
I am extremely grateful that I had the opportunity to stay at this beautiful resort before it is gone forever.

Staying at The MIRAGE in Las Vegas Before It Closes FOREVER
I've stayed at the Mirage for 20 years, and I left a few years ago because it was in a downfall way before it was sold. Seriously, sure I have memories, but I won't miss it at all. Many of my casino hosts left, the casino is still small, dark, dingy, with a horrible layout for foot traffic, and very smoky. The rooms were outdated, even the suites. Service was never great, there were always issues with housekeeping, the rooms, the front desk, etc. It may be iconic, but people will always move on to the next shiny new object.
The Mirage definitely felt tired when I stayed there. I am hopeful that Hard rock will be able to make it feel new and exciting. Thanks for the comment!
