Super addition to my box, great instructions! Just tried the Euro method on a 3 day trip to the R Fork this week, it surprised me how effective it was. It's always interesting to try a new approach and not stay stuck in my usual ways. Also gives me a chance to tie more variety flies!
Charlie, there are some flies that look buggy and like they would catch fish. In my mind, many perdigon style flies don’t look like that. I know they catch, but they don’t have that look. This one does!!!! Can’t wait to try my dubbing loop skills (which so far have kicked my a$$). Thanks Charlie, sure enjoy your lessons.
Well, that was interesting; the thread trick will be useful for me; as for Euro Nymphing, I have not gone down that rabbit hole yet, and I don't think I will either, and I go a friend, yes Charilie, this old reprobate does have some friends, this one has been a friend and fishing buddy at times going back to High School, is trying to get me into this Euro Nymphing thing. I am still pissed off with the USPS over that order of stuff, but I just got the empty envelope. Oh, my friend gifted me a subscription to Fly Fisherman. Good article, Charlie; reading about Blue Quills by Cathy Beck was bittersweet. To come to the end of the road at Stoble Lake- Aka Jurassic Lake is not a terrible way to go.
I’ve had problems stripping Peacock quills big enough for some of these patters until I started getting the Fulling Mill quills. Thanks again. Was wondering if Timmy was going to get an introduction anytime soon? 😊
Fun fly Charlie and great instruction as always. Question, it looks like the slotted bead used has the "straight" edge on top. Perhaps camera angle, but should that slotted bead be flipped around such that "rounded" edge is uppermost? Thanks.

I agree this euro nymph is compelling. It is compelling me to make a still water version for bluegills and crappies.

This fly works very good in the upper North East.

You should see my euro nymph pheasant tail. It doesn't even have legs or a small collar on it but man does that fly catch fish.

Does this ride hook up? That puts the hot spot on the bottom.
Flies tumble in the water so it doesn’t matter where your hot spot is on a fly it never stays on top nor the bottom..
