Something I forgot to mention: Starlight may not have gotten her own little sister with Diamond Tiara, BUT you could make the argument that Starlight is Twilight's little sister. They do have a sister-like bond and Twilight cares for Starlight in an older sister/nurturing way. Even Starlight had a thing at one point about wanting to impress Twilight as if she looks up to her. Starlight is definitely more attached to Twilight than she is the rest of the mane 6. And Starlight is one of the ponies that Twilight trusts and respects the most. So if even we didn't get one sister relationship, we got another, and that's beautiful 🥰
There is actually a theory about Starlight Glimmer is Twilight's sister but they brainwashed Twilight and Starlight I don't think the brainwashing is canon, but it makes sense for Starlight and Twilight to be siblings Mostly because their name is really similar, they both have the word "Light" in their name and they have a ending(?) name that's really similar Glimmer and Sparkle.
MLP: everyone can be redeemed. Even the ones who are so mean. MLB: everyone can be redeemed. Expect Chloe, she is beyond the definition of irredeemable.
I loved Starlight too. The mentor/student dynamic between her and Twilight really sealed the deal for both of their characters for me. Twilight's character arc essentially completes as she goes from student to teacher, and I literally almost cried when she was going to send Starlight away, just like when Celestia sent her away in episode one.
I love their relationship so much. 🥰 The Starlight/Diamond Tiara thing would have been a cute sisterly relationship, but when I think about it, Starlight and Twilight are basically sisters 🥰
@@TheArtisticAloubell Btw, I thought of a lyric that can fit in between "Sharing kindness" and "And magic makes it all complete." Replace "an easy feat" with "and empathy." "Sharing kindness and empathy."
@@princesstt9778 that's exactly the lyric I was thinking! Haha I was thinking "sharing kindness and some empathy" adding the word "some" just to keep the flow of the original line x3
If you knew me before my 20s, you never actually knew , you knew season 1 me, we were severely underfunded and the writing team was going through a lot
Your feelings toward Starlight are valid, but Sunset has issues. She has fits of rage, she has a competitive streak, she's reformed, but she's not without flaws. The original Sunset Shimmer is someone, to me at least, that couldn't accept that she was wrong. That what she did and stuff had to have an endgame. That she didn't fuck up her life for no reason. She wanted all the power Twilight had and she got it, but the Element of Magic made her PAY for it. When Sunset is going all demon mode, she is crying and then seems to go crazy. I think it's like Nightmare Moon and Luna, one gets so consumed with a desire or goal that it's all they can really see until they're slapped with a rainbow laser to make them see clearly. Yes Sunset's reaction in that hole is too far removed from her actual personality, but Rainbow Rocks has her being unsure and insecure about her place. She doesn't come to terms with who she is truly until she joins in the Rainbow Friendship Laser as the seventh element. She gets the red stripe in Rainbow Rock's big finale and from then on, she's the leader of the Rainbooms. As I said in my other comment, this is Sunset in her transitional phase from villain to hero and the only real example of such a phase I can think of in MLP.
Sunset eventually had issues. That's why I said it took the writers a bit of time to realize that she should have flaws. I wouldn't even consider her "blowing up" at Sci-Twi in friendship games as that big of a rage thing. Sci-Twi did mess up and needed a stern talking to. Sunset did take it a bit far, but idk, I wouldn't count that as a blatant flaw up until Forgotten Friendship in which her rage or mean bursts started being more obvious again. Even though I'm not a huge fan of Sunset, I don't deny that she did develop. It just didn't seem as smooth as Starlight's progression in my opinion.
To be perfectly fair, there are a number of instances where Starlight's incredible skillset actually impacts a story: The entire premise of her introduction shakes the foundations of the rules of magic we had for the show. Starlight goes on to prove herself to be once again one of the most amazing magic users in the show by actually perfecting Star Swirl's time travel spell. Starlight also uses her powers to get Luna and Celestia to understand each other in a way they never could before, potentially managing to avoid Nightmare Moon II (it's my headcannon that the conflict in the episode Royal Problem are the actual trigger for Luna's choice to turn). She comes in clutch during the Changeling crisis as well. Starlight stands out for being the first major *reoccurring antagonist* from what I can remember (Trixie was reoccurring, but her role did not come with stakes as high as Starlight's). So making Starlight the center of the show and the demarcation point of the show's Eras makes perfect sense.
I've seen someone say being made Twilight's student was a reward when it's actually as you said - a way so Twilight could keep an eye on her and make sure she was reformed.
I've heard this same punishment debate over Bakugo from My Hero Academia. Bakugo is the protagonist's childhood bully, but the protagonist himself doesn't feel any resentment towards him and actually wants to be his friend. Some fans think Bakugo should be punished for all the bullying he did, despite the protagonist having long forgiven him, which leads me to believe that they want Bakugo to be punished just for their own satisfaction. It's ironic how some people are quick to defend others but don't actually care about the feelings of who they're defending.
Very excellent points! And I definitely see what you mean about Bakugo! It's not necessary for him to be punished either! I'd say he's changing for the better without it!
Finaly Starlight is geting the praise she deserves! And just to say, I must admit I've never heard her voice in english until one mitute ago, but in Brazil she's voiced by Maíra Paris and I love her voice so much!
You really gave me a new-found appreciation of Starlight! And I love how open you are about your Christian beliefs. It was so inspiring hearing your backstory, and it was also really fun just hearing you talk about your fav character. Your videos are always such gems! 💖💖
Those were 53 minutes well-spent! I really love Starlight, she's definitely one of my favorites out of all of MLP, and with all the critiques she gets, an almost hour-long video with such possitive comment on her makes me really happy! I'm very sorry about what happened to you, but I'm glad to hear that you have found your healing through God, and that MLP has helped you a bit in that as well! I know there are amazing things ahead that await for you. 😁 Oh and also I wasn't expecting a face reveal, you're really pretty! 😊 Keep up the awesomeness!
I'm grateful that I have a platform where I can express my opinions, cuz I was holding in all of these thoughts for SO many years haha I'm happy I'm not the only one who appreciates Starlight X3 And thank you for all of your kind words
I'm a hard believer that anybody can change, but you have to let them change. If you continue to treat them like they're always be a bad guy they will start to believe that it's no used to change and continue in being bad. Why should they change if nobody is going to see them as anything else?
Why should they change if nobody is going to see them as anything else? Well, what matters is that they no longer see themselves as a bad guy. But that's going to be very very hard to do(or in some cases, dare I say it, impossible) if everyone keeps on treating them like a bad guy.
@@TheArtisticAloubell Why should they change if nobody is going to see them as anything else? Well, what matters is that they no longer see themselves as a bad guy. But that's going to be very very hard to do(or in some cases, dare I say it, impossible) if everyone keeps on treating them like a bad guy.
not a Starlight fan personally, but I did enjoy that she caused both Trixie and Sunburst (both of which I absolutely enjoy) to get more screen-time (and in the latter's case, he was the result of Starlight existing)
I like that you talk about the shows i like from a Christian point of view. It feels good. As a Christian myself i fully agree with your points about redemptions and second chances. No one is beyond help, and if someone wants to change then its our job to help them become a better person (or pony) not to put them down because of what they did in the past.
I’m so glad that another person other than Star Giant Productions has defended her. I’m not obsessed with Starlight or anything, but I was able to forgive her due to the amount of time I’ve watched her grow after her sort of muddy redemption episode. She was just super interesting to me. The writers continued to MOVE ON with her instead of leaving her in the dust. And as the wise Monika once said, “If you try too hard to be perfect, you’ll just end up with a dark puddle. So just move your hand, and go with the flow!” And that’s exactly what the writers did with Starlight after that rocky, rushed start, and I say, good on them! What they decided to do with her afterward was much better than just killing her off. I used to get scared of liking her because of the honestly toxic, almost borderline psychopathic things that people on the internet were saying about her. I thought, if I liked her, then I was just a Hitler worshipper with a m*rder kink or something. But I’m so glad to know that I’m not alone, and that I’m not a bad person just because I have a different opinion. Others may say that Starlight was the reason that they stopped watching Mlp, but she was the very thing that kept me interested after Twilight’s arc was pretty much done after “defeating” Starlight.
I always liked Starlight Shimmer because of her personality and unique powers. Before this video though, I thought her backstory was pretty weak and a poor reasoning for wanting to start a cult. However, your story made me realise I can relate to her backstory too. I’ve moved a lot so I’ve always been the new kid at school, always struggling to make friends and when I did make firm friends, I thought we would be friends forever and keep in contact. We didn’t and now I can see them social media, completely different from how I remember them. I know if I reunited with them I would just be disappointed and trapped in my nostalgic memories of them, but it’s alright, I have finally stopped moving and now I have close friends that I visit regularly. :D
I'm glad you are Starlight in a new light now 😁 And I'm sorry for your experiences growing up. That must have been really hard. But! I'm glad that you are doing well now and that you have wonderful friends ❤️
I think perhaps the reason Starlight wasn't integrated as a seventh element like Sunset Shimmer is because we didn't have a great amount screentime of her bonding with Twilight's friends individually. I think Sunset did mesh into the mane 6 dynamic a lot better, even if there was emphasis on her friendship with Twilight, especially through the mini series. However, it was probably also easier to make a change in Equestria Girls rather than the main series. Even if Starlight has an equal play in their friendship now, we haven't gotten full episodes of her playing off other members of the mane 6, so it might not feel right to make her part of the main group's thing. Starlight, however, had her own group of friends, and a great dynamic with Twilight. I think that puts her in a standout position, rather than a seventh element. I think she would have made a great alicorn, especially since she had the same number of seasons as Twilight available. Since there were four alicorns with big reponsibilities before, I think it would be great to leave off the series with four as well (Assuming Flurry grew up). Maybe she could be the alicorn of empathy rather than element. Someone does need to fill in on Luna's dream travelling job, and perhaps she could connect to the children she talked to through knowledge of her misguided past, just like Luna. Besides that, I'd love to see what kind of magical craziness she could pull off with alicorn magic. And at least Twilight would have one close and comforting friend when the rest of mane 6 inevitably pass on. I wish she could have been an Alicorn, but you made a good point about her having a complete character arc, so I'm happy for at least that.
38:17 - I feel like the creators of the theme song could've just put "🎶Empathyyy!🎶" instead of "It's an easy feat!" (-- which connects to your earlier point about Starlight and her theoretical Element of Harmony being empathy as part of the Mane Six). Perhaps a quick scene of Starlight Glimmer showing some empathy to Trixie could be added to the sequence.
Someone else and I were discussing that elsewhere in the comments lol I agree that "Sharing kindness" could easily be followed with "and some empathy!" It would have been cool if they did that 😭 And I like your idea of how she could show empathy in the intro!
Your videos are some of the best out there! Your deep analysis into Starlight's character as well as incorporating Christianity into the video and touching on your own past has given me a newfound appreciation for a character I already loved. It's been an absolute delight discovering this channel and watching your videos on topics I wouldn't normally be interested in. Thank you for putting so much time and care into these videos, and thank you for your kindness and empathy.
@@JupiterHeart Just like Starlight... They wanted her to be the 7 Winx, but never actually gave her new trasformations or really made her so. I tought She would be part of the main cast, Just like Starlight kept being.
I've never had many friends. I struggle a lot, and my best friend since middle school is in a mental hospital during the hardest time of my life. They tried to be there while they could, but it was still hard. I'm close to the hardest part. I hope that we can remain friends no matter what, I miss them and hope we can both heal.
I'm sorry you and your friend have gone through such hardship. I pray that no matter the challenges, your friendship remains strong and that you both come out of this strong and victorious. I pray you both be blessed and have joy and peace. In Jesus' name Amen 🩷✨
Thank you, I don't believe in religion. But I believe in God and his love of every person. I hope and pray for our happiness. I'm 17, and even if it'll take years of therapy to heal, I know the worst part is almost over for me.
Tbh I never found Starlight's backstory unrealistic because well...I relate to it too, in a way hah. I loved watching you talk about your favorite character - it makes me happy when people talk about the things they love! Great video! Also you look lovely btw!
@@TheArtisticAloubell thank you, I am. 😊 I'm glad you're doing better yourself, your videos are awesome and you're really sweet, I'm glad to have found your channel. :3 And no problem.
I actually Relate to Starlight in a different way. The way she tried to bottle up her anger toward someone is something I also struggle with. There is also her bad relationship she used to have with her Dad. In my case, my Mom. Although she isn't my top favorite, she is up there.
In regards to Starlight’s backstory, I agree that it makes sense and I like the themes of insignificant things leading to bigger things. A lot of small, seemingly insignificant things happened in my childhood that lead to huge events and problems later on. A lot of my best friends that I was extremely close to and were like family to me moved away. There were a lot of traumatic events that would seem minuscule to anyone else, like being yelled at about something silly. But like Starlight, I was left alone, isolated from others, to process all of these big emotions with no support or guidance. Her backstory completely makes sense. All she had in the cruel world was her best friend, who was then ripped away from her. The reason was cutiemarks, which gave her a negative association with them as a small, devolving child. You form a lot of your deepest values as a child. She grew up with this resentment and nothing or no one to stop her. Her friend leaving was a traumatic event, everything after that was traumatic, not to mention the mental issues she likely developed from parental neglect. Starlight absolutely had enough of a reason to start a cult, then was pushed to the brink as she once again lost everything after the mane 6 ruined her cult, probably bringing up some ptsd from losing everything as a child when her friend left too. This lead her to doing greater things, such as the proceeding events. So shut up Starlight haters >:c
Also Starlight apparently went through a goth phase or a punk phase if her old room has anything to say about it in the episode where we meet her father
Your story really moved me especially because I’ve been in very similar situations as you. I, too, used to have a very close friend group that ended up leaving me behind and alone for a reason I couldn’t figure out. In addition, I used to be in a very toxic relationship with a girl that ended up neglecting me emotionally and physically for five years. Thankfully I’m not in that situation anymore. Very similarly, I too felt so alone to the point where I questioned what was wrong with me on the daily, unable to talk to anyone simply because it felt like no one was there or I was too scared about being a burden. I always tried to check off the things I knew I was supposed to do: did I communicate my feelings? Yes. Did I communicate my needs? Yes. Did I try to fix my own mistakes? Yes. And it got to a point where I even wondered if communicating these things were even the “right” thing to do in a healthy relationship. That being said, all of this is also why I really like Starlight. Just as you, I feel as if I understand where she’s coming from. From the childhood loneliness, to wanting connection but not knowing how to socialize, and to being way too hard on myself. I also really appreciate how you realized that God finds value in your life as He does all of us. Matthew 6:26 is a testament to that. It is also a good reminder for me whenever I simply feel alone or not good enough or have the desire to do the unthinkable. So thank you for bringing it up. God bless you.
I'm so sorry you went through all of that! Sound absolutely horrible. I'm glad God helped you through it and continues to give you hope. Because above all else, He will never leave you nor forsake you and He will ALWAYS love you. I hope things have gotten better for you
Wonderful video and beautiful art! ⭐️ My favorite is Rarity, but Starlight is my second best, followed by Twilight. :) Starlight’s story is a great example of how painful loneliness is and how powerful connection with others are. MLP is definitely a comfort series for me, I think it’s due for a rewatch!
Why do I feel like Aloubell could make a 24 hr rant if she let herself? With the whole element of harmony thing, I have believed for a very long time that there should be a 7th element of forgiveness/acceptance that sunset and starlight would have respectively because of their experience with it. Also spike was supposed to be the little brother character even having a crush on 1 of the main 6, whatever his relationship with twilight is, it's meant to be to the audience. If they wanted to make him a bigger character they should have started season 2 and been given an element late season 3-4 to make it natural. As always amazing art!😚👌❤
lol Imagine me ranting for 24 hours haha I'd give up on editing that altogether XD Sunset and Starlight could have easily been two sides of the same coin. Sunset representing the element in the human world while Starlight represents it in the pony world. And I agree if they wanted to put more emphasis on Spike and his importance to the overall story, they should have done it sooner and more obviously. The writers seemed a bit confused as to what they wanted to do with Spike.
I couldn’t agree more with everything you said about Starlight. It’s literally exactly what I think of her as well. Also, I’m sorry about what happened to your friends. I too had a friend who just abandoned me out of nowhere, but I had another friend still by my side and it didn’t hurt me as much as I imagine it hurt you. ( plus my ex friend’s reasons are legit stupid and them leaving me and my other friend was their fault so I didn’t really feel as bad after a while [ yeah they were pretty toxic and I’m honestly way better without them ] ) But anyway, I hope you are doing well :)
It's been around ten years since I watched mlp. I was on the internet more than I should've been as a kid, and while it was no fault of the show's, my view of it did become stained for a good while for very unfortunate reasons. I'd never seen the episodes with Starlight, but I'd already seen your videos by that point, so I knew to keep an extra special eye on her when I came back. And... wow. I admit I didn't fully understand the character before, but you've absolutely won me over! One thing that I absolutely could not shake the feeling of while rewatching mlp was the near constant mercy. They say it's not realistic-- but it's not as far off as people think. I felt a little silly, watching characters like Luna and Sunset break down in sorrow only to be forgiven for what they did... but that really is what it feels like, being with God. It feels silly admitting how closely His grace is reflected in a show like this-- but it is truly close. It's not that the characters aren't doing bad things-- it's that they're so genuinely *sorry* about it. And everytime I saw how gently they were handled, I couldn't help but be so excited! I can't help but crave a world where people are so genuine and kind-- even if that's not always how it works this side. I think I somewhat relate to that past too. Just slowly being left behind for "better and cooler" things without really understanding what went wrong. In my case, it's lead me to desperately strike up conversations in some discord servers-- as if subconsciously trying not to be forgotten again, in an almost competitive way even. You never really forget a special group of friends, I think. It still feels so strange that the one who should remember me the least thinks about me the most, but I never really was forgotten. I think Starlight's awkwardness is extremely relatable too ✨️
The relatable story of you and Starlight Glimmer is really sweet, spoken strong, and you found a true friend after you went through dark hours. *headpats OC* Starlight and I absolutely relatable. It's just funny when we think alike speaking word for word when we we know what The Mane Six were in too deep.
This was a truly beautiful video, I’ve watched a few episodes of MLP but I’ve never been really into it but it definitely shows how important characters and stories are to people! I really honestly think they change lives! I also love how you incorporated Christianity into your video! This is an awesome video, your channel is quickly becoming one of my favourite ever!
I believe one of the issues with Starlights backstory is how it was shown. It was very short and one scene that left off with the feeling of "My friend left me as a child so I started a cult and almost ruined all of Equestria". It felt more like one of those sad villain backstories that are shoved in last minute right after a villain does something horrible. Your past experiences show that a backstory like this could actually work and could lead to extreme thoughts and feelings however to anyone who hasn't had that kind of experience and thus can't relate to Starlight and imagine the feelings she mustve had the backstory will seem extremely jarring. They needed to show a longer backstory, they needed to show more of how her thought process developed, they needed to show how the loss of one friend could utterly break someone. People who can't relate to her don't have this emotional context and the show should have shown it. If it had shown her feelings as a child more detailed it wouldn't have felt so cheap. Anyway while I still don't enjoy Starlight its nice to see that this character could mean so much to someone and bring them so much joy.
I can see your point and I appreciate that you didn't say it wasn't justified for her to be upset over losing a friend. In which case, yes, it would have been nice to see her descent into the darkness instead of only seeing 1 minute of her backstory. Although I understood and empathized with her from just that little clip, I would have appreciated it being stretched out. Still though, I get that some people may not have had that kind of experience and can't relate, but I still think it's not cool that some people say she should have just "grown up" or "gotten over it." Even if someone can't empathize with you, at least they can sympathize. It's the blatant belittling of Starlight's backstory that annoys me. So I appreciate how civil you were about it =)
One of many things that this show had going for it was having at least one character that someone could relate to. For me, it was Fluttershy mainly but also Rarity and Starlight. It was honestly a joy to see them grow, especially Starlight and Fluttershy, cause I felt like I was kind of growing with them at the time. It’s always good to see some Starlight love and thanks for sharing your own backstory, Ik it definitely wasn’t easy but you’re a strong person for doing it. Awesome vid ✨✨
I would headcanon that Starlight Glimmer is supposed to be inspired by both Dr. N. Tropy & Crunch Bandicoot from Crash Bandicoot 3: Warped & The Wrath of Cortex respectively , since she a time Traveller in an attempt travel through time and destroy the future and the main character and being an Evil Counterpart of Twilight Sparkle which is why her name is just Synonyms of Her name that later became reformed And a prominent Ally after being defeated much like Crunch Bandicoot become to Crash Bandicoot and his friends.
I cannot express what this video means to me. I choked up hearing your story. Thank you for sharing. Your faith is inspirational. ^^ Starlight will always be best pony >:3
It refreshing to see some love for Starlight, the hate for a FICTIONAL CARTOON character was way too much for me. Though some complaints are understandable, it's still too much.
Something else that I noticed is that people are angry Starlight wasn't punished, but not Luna. We literally see what Luna did to Equestria IN a Starlight episode. Luna is one of my favorite characters, but Starlight initially brainwashed a town, that's hardly the level of dictatorship Luna had as Nightmare Moon in the alternate timeline. They both did terrible things, but it feels like a double standard to hate one and not the other. I know Luna was imprisoned for a thousand years, so to claim she wasn't punished at ALL is flat out wrong, but I'm referring to her return in the first episode when she attacked once again, immediately. They both showed genuine remorse later on and had somewhat comparable backstories in regards to feeling left behind, yet I don't see why most mlp villains deserve to be forgiven if Starlight doesn't, because a reoccurring theme is repentance and forgiveness. Starlight didn't know stopping the rainboom would cause terrible things, because she didn't even believe Twilight at first. But once she saw what she was really responsible for, you could see how even she knew it was messed up despite still being angry. And she did her best to change *willingly.*
Starlight's cynical personality is what maybe drew me to LOVE her I'm MLP. As for the Sunset vs. Starlight debate, I believe Starlight is the better overall character because when Starlight was a villain she was more threatening over the bland mean girl personality the writers gave Sunset in Equestria Girls. I was genuinely shocked when you did that face reveal and truly enjoy your content. Have a blessed day. Thank you Aloubell
✨i just love how you tell us WHY she’s your favorite. I’ll have to admit that at first I didn’t like her that much, probably because I didn’t get into writing yet. but after diving deep into her character i ADORED her, we can’t deny MLP has a handful of redeemed villains such as Discord, Trixie, and i guess princess Luna?? But Starlight is on another level. And yup Luster dawn is her daughter and no one can say otherwise 😡 i think it was confirmed by some writers? I guess they left it unconfirmed so we as viewers can decide. also thank you for sharing your story and i’m sorry you had to go through that💗 when will people realize the simplest things would mean A LOT to people either good or bad? Thank you for the wonderful video! Stay safe!
My fav character is bacon hair lel but I have Starlight easily in my top 5, I know people always want to compare them but they ain’t the same xd from their stories to their personalities to how they got redeemed, both are great characters in their own right and I’m glad that GlimGlam is getting some love since I know a lot of people always complained about her xd
°o° Aloe you're so adorable! And yes, you did convince me of Starlight's awesomeness lol. I still think her actions were really, *really* messed up but I think I can forgive her :3
Before i hated starlight, no reason why but i never liked her but now i realized that she did so much to the show and she deserves every bit of second chances. She will forever be my number 1 favourite out of all of the characters in mlp. Aside from that i feel very sorry about your backstory, i myself never experience it before and hope to never experience it. But as for you atleast i am very very sorry that happend to you, but in the end i am glad you were able to heal from the traumatic event and moved on to a better and a beautiful life. Truly happy for you! :D
I'm so glad you love Starlight now 🥰 Though the point is that she didn't deserve a second chance, but it's beautiful that she was given it and used it to better society and save everyone ❤️
"Big adventures, tones of fun, a beautiful heart, faithful and and strong, sharing kindness, give empathy and magic makes it all complete." This is my take of squeeze a starlight verse in. Plus it still rhymes. And could have been great because empathy is part of friendship. Hope you like it. P.s. you're the best.
I never thought about how much I relate to Starlight until now, like her, I lost my friends, one of them a long time friend who I considered my best friend, they started ignoring me out of nowhere, leaving me outside of the talk or leaving me alone, they never invited me anywhere too, so I kind of see myself in her, since now I have a lot of issues with socializing, or I got scared of coming back too was before (I wasn't the best person and friend) I worked on my flaws but I'm still insecure about it, since none of those who considered my friends told me what was the problem with me, I got a very low self esteem because of that
@@TheArtisticAloubell thank you, and yeah, I've been working on it, I still have a lots of issues with my social skills and and the fear of going through the same again makes me feel insecure but I'm improving
Been meaning to make a comment ever since I watched this video, but anyway, glad to see someone who’s also a huge fan of Starlight Glimmer! For me, Starlight holds a really special place in me. She was the first ever fictional character that really got to me since 2016. I love just about everything about her, from her design to her character! Funny enough, Starlight has influenced my liking of other fictional characters across other pieces of media. Lyon from Fire Emblem 8 and Kazuya Mishima from the Tekken series (he’s the one in my profile picture, fun fact) are some of my other favorite characters to name a few. I swear I have an attraction towards characters who are associated with purple, are or were villains in some sort of way, and are really attractive for some reason hahaha. (Also I’ve noticed that all three of them happen to have some sort of arc or conflict involving their dads lol.)
this video felt oddly reassuring and i just had to say it :> i may haven’t watched mlp as much when starlight got redeemed but i did see most of her screen time in one way or another and relate to her in a way, her backstory mainly. I lost friend groups And friends, not just once and one of them had more impact on me as a friend of mine was almost more than a friend before he stopped talking to me after a while i just constantly worri(ed) about losing friends, and just not doing the best. But other Than that as i said hearing your experiences and why you relate to Starlight and just knowing more abt her after falling out of my mlp phase just felt good
I'm so sorry about what you went through with your own friends. I hope things are better for you now! ❤️ And thank you for watching! I'm happy you liked the video ❤️❤️✨
This was a really great video! I also love Starlight and she is my favorite character of the show. The show does a great job at making her so likeable right from the beginning of season 6. I relate to her social awkwardness and anxiety. She grows into one of the most supportive, dedicated, strong-willed, and straight up badass characters of the show. She's a character I simply enjoy spending time with every time I see her. I also loved your comments about forgiveness and why Starlight deserved another chance. That's something that bugs me about Cozy Glow. Yes she committed serious crimes and had no remorse, but she's still a child. We no nothing about her family, where she came from, or backstory. I wish we got to see some kind of reason for why she became the way that she is. Both Tirek and Chrysalis had their own justification for their actions whereas Cozy was evil for the sake of being evil. What traumatic event caused this 12 year old filly to go insane and want to take over the world? I'm still curious to know. I am really sorry for what happened to you with your friends. Losing people close to you really hurts and I'm glad you are in a better place now. I hope you've had people come into your life at the right time who are always able to be there for you when you need them. I am interested in you thoughts about another controversial subject in the fandom: The Grogar Twist. For me, I believe it's one thing to not like the twist, but saying it "destroyed Discord's character" is a complete lie. There are many examples in the show I could point to that prove this was totally something Discord would do. The Winter Zilla incident in Best Gift Ever is probably the best example. Plus, Grogar was never built up as the final big bad to begin with. Everytime he appeared, the villain trio had the majority of screentime. We spend the whole season watching them learn how to team up and become a powerful force while Grogar just sits around not actually doing anything. Rewatching the season makes you realize the trio was always gonna be the final fight. Even if Grogar wasn't Discord in disguise, wouldn't him betraying the trio thus taking them out of the picture have made everything the trio had done throughout the season pointless? And who would have been a better foe for the finale of the entire show? A trio of villains we all know who have been established as characters earlier in the series, or some random goat who exists only to reference G1 and had no real character development or personality? Most of these points come from an article I read about the subject which I 100 percent agree with. Sorry this is so long and thanks for making it this far. It's crazy that I have so much to say about a cartoon horse show. Thank you for your time and #Glimmyisthebestpony!
@@TheArtisticAloubell That does make sense. I wish Cozy was at least redeemed even if not completely. I like how Chrysalis is the most ruthless out of the three rejecting the idea of friendship immediately in Frenemies. I hate how people take one thing they don't like about an episode and have it ruin the entire episode. This happened with The Cutie Re-Mark, Do Princesses Dream of Magic Sheep, and The Ending of the End. Like why can't you appreciate all the other awesome stuff about the episode just because of one problem you had? Twilight's Kingdom is fantastic and all, but there's several finales just as good or better that don't get nearly enough love and they deserve it
Starlight reminds me of Starscream, specifically the Transformers Prime iteration. Megatron fought with Star a *_lot._* Hardly liked the dude. But when Star basically defected, he caused Megs a lot of trouble, even helping the Autobots at one point. So when Star eventually came crawling back, Megs made it clear to him that regardless of what he thinks of Star or how he feels about him, he's far more beneficial to him if he's in the Decepticon ranks where he can keep an eye on him (that or dead). So like I know in MLP, they show Starlight getting along well with the Mane 6 but when you were mentioning how powerful she was and the danger the Mane 6 would have been in if she wasn't around, it reminded me of Starscream. Even if they wrote the rest of the Mane 6 disliking Starlight for a long time, I could have still seen them being fine with her being around because they recognize how powerful she is. I think Discord is similar, too. It's basically the saying that goes like, "Keep your friends close and your enemies closer" or whatever. Another example could be the Diamonds from Steven Universe. Steven never quite fully forgave them for everything but he tried to be nice to them in order to keep them on the side of good because they're so dang powerful and even if he found it unpleasant that they were basically groveling, it was much better than having them wreak havoc across the universe. Also yes I did partially use this comment just to ramble about my favorite Transformers iteration and character 🤣
It's cool that you can relate Starlight to another character X3 Though I see what you mean about the idea of the ponies merely keeping her around at first cuz she's more useful as an ally, I feel like they already went that route with Discord, so doing it again with Starlight would have been repetitive. Besides, I do like how everyone was just nice to her after her...ahem...boo boos...and how nicely she got along with everyone despite her mess-ups and insecurities =')
0:50 Yeah, believe it or not, only about 5.9% of the entire show is the unicorn Twilight era. And that’s not counting all the movies and specials that are all solely in the alicorn Twilight era.
You are just the sweetest person ever. You're doin great, and I can tell you've worked hard and made lots of progress over time and I want you to know that I'm very proud of you. God is wonderful and I'm so glad he helped you get to a better state❤
@@TheArtisticAloubell As an aside, I've been rewatching Avatar the Last Airbender and what you said about seeing forgiveness in media reminded me a whole lot of a specific relationship in the show. Because when I think of the closest way to describe my relationship with God...its usually zuko and iroh. If you haven't seen it...you should, its truly one of the greatest shows I've ever seen. If you have...you'll know the scene I mean. The finale was really something else.
I would headcanon that Starlight Glimmer is supposed to be inspired by Crunch Bandicoot from Crash Bandicoot: The Wrath of Cortex, since she's originally supposed to be like an Evil Counterpart of Twilight Sparkle which is why her name is just Synonyms of Her name that later became reformed And a prominent Ally in later seasons much like Crunch Bandicoot.
I watched without skipping it and also you did not deserve that cold treatment from your close friends. But I am glad to be your friends I also have friends but bad at communicating with them and it made me nervous and also I am afraid to approach that’s why but it’s cool to be your friend
It's not like sunset just got reformed by being blasted by rainbow and everyone was suddenly cool with her they need to see that Sunset was actually reformed and that she wasn't a terrible person anymore and yes I feel like it could have been done better I'm just saying Sunset and starlight are both good characters and just because the fandom said that Starlight with a copy of Sunset Shimmer doesn't mean that sunsets any worse and starlight isn't bad either
I love this channel so much. I feel like I'm so alone these days, that I'm the only Christian out here. It's so reassuring that you're out here putting out this stuff. It makes me feel like I'm not alone, and that's a good thing.
The point about redemption arcs tying into Christianity is why I loved (emphasis on the d, my feelings on it are a lot more mixed nowadays) Steven Universe as it was coming out. Steven was just such a refreshingly kind and empathetic character, the show emphasized the brokenness of many of the supporting characters, and it showed grace to antagonists who would’ve been completely obliterated in other shows. Really wish the show had gone on long enough to give Jasper a redemption arc, though. That would’ve been the best written part of the show since the end of Season 3 and Steven’s fight with Spinel in the movie!
@@TheArtisticAloubell Me too! ✨ SU aside, this was an incredibly well-done analysis of Starlight Glimmer and why she means so much to you. Even though I'm not an MLP guy, I get why people love the show and your story of how God used the show to bring you out of your darkest hours was very touching. He is SOOOO good!
@@TheArtisticAloubell Just out of curiosity, what are your views on the afterlife? Do you believe in Universalism, Conditional Immortality, or Eternal Conscious Torment?
One thing the fandom stated that Starlight did not get punished. Giving that she is on the same level as Twi and she messed around with time more then the avengers, what prisoner is gonna keep her? Forgiveness was the best choice
LOL That's a valid point as well XD Forgiving her was the better option especially since punishment would have been pointless and a waste of resources.
@@TheArtisticAloubell Tell you the true I thought she was going to be the seventh element like the 6th power ranger or the seventh Toa in Bionicle. Also Bionicle and mlp have some surprising similarities
I actually went through a similar situation with my friends 3 years ago and I felt so alone. I remember sitting watching this show and praying to God asking if he would give me friends like that some day, asking if I would ever have friends who actually cared about me again. 2 years later at the lowest point of my life I get asked by someone I wasn’t well acquainted with to join her DND campaign. Within a year she became my best friend sitting down and praying with me, talking to me everyday, and helping me through some of the darkest times of my life. She actually got me to stop standing in the darkness and look towards Jesus again. Hearing that last part honestly made me cry because of how relatable it was but it also reminded me of how far I’ve come and how much growing I have left in God. Also Starlight is an amazing character!
It wasn’t really because of starlight per say. Season 5 was at first show run by MA Larson cause Meghan was working on the movie and being promoted. But the work load was too much with his own book on the way Meghan had to take over for a lot of the second half of season 5 until handing off season 5’s finale and all of season 6 and 7 to Josh who infamously claimed there was no show Bible so ignores any continuity that conflicted with his ideas and made call backs mostly to his own episodes pre season 6. But this is why the tone shifted so much. Without Meghan and Larson on the team all the original writers from season 1 and 2 were not officially guests who at best came back for one more episode each if at all. So it’s more two different shows put together. Sorta like how simpsons post season 9 is different from 3-8 and from 19 on its “zombie simpsons” but it’s all the same show at the end of the day
That's very interesting info! I knew some stuff about the writers, but not that much. Still though, this video was more about Starlight as a character and less the quality of the show after she came along.
@@TheArtisticAloubell I get that. Just the opening 30 seconds triggered my mansplaining, well more fansplaining since I literally only do this with things I’m really into or weird stuff like how Jesus Christ is supposed to be said as Christ Joshua in English. Guess it’s cause if the posting but I literally made that comment 3 minutes after the video went live so I was not in the full context of the video at the time
DX And I don't even think her redemption is THAT rushed. Technically, both Starlight AND Trixie still had some lingering aspects of themselves from their villain days that they needed to work on after redemption (although you could make the argument that Trixie was never really a villain to begin with...the alicorn amulet had a negative effect on her that she couldn't control).
I did not expect to cry from a Starligth video but here we are. I can relate hole heartedley with the story. I remember mine friends slowly distancing themselfs away from me, to the point I became someone with no social experiements what so ever. I was to shy to even talk I couldnt look into peoples eyes wel I still cant. Starligths and our story is realistic and people go trough this even if you say its not a big deal. It can change a person despratley and Im glad she goten the redemtion and friends she deserved even if in real life things are diffrent sadly
Ok, so I finally got an opportunity to watch this entire video and I must say it's a great respect to Starlight Glimmer! She is among my favorite fictional characters alongside Vegeta (from dbz), Darth Vader (from star wars), Itachi Uchiha (from Naruto), Arya Stark (from game of thrones) and Zuko (from Avatar the last airbender). Also, to settle any dispute about Starlight vs Twilight in terms of power, there is actually a comic issue that has Twilight admitting verbatim that Starlight is more powerful. Starswirl is also more powerful as stated by the Pony of Shadows, but Starlight Glimmer did better against Bell Amped Chrysalis than Starswirl did against Bell amped Tirek. So by feats Starlight is even stronger than Starswirl and likely equal to Luna, as the map chose her to personally deal with Luna and even Celestia.
Message of the video: There is good And there is bad Being bad hasn’t it’s moments and popularity but being good has it memory remember So be good to one another and if someone brings you down then just get back up god is strong and so are You keep being you no matter what ✨
I’m an ex-Christian and your thoughts about Starlight being an analogy for Christianity is very interesting. I’m more spiritual than religious and I know many other religions besides Christianity exist. I have had my bad grips with religion because I believe no one, not even gods are better than the people they created, however that’s just my opinion and I have had people call me absolutely terrible thing’s simply because I am not religious anymore and I have been hurt by the very people who say god loves me but turn around and say he hates me. But I do believe starlight is a great character and deserves kindness as well and was happy she became a good pony and changed for the better. So great video. I may not be aligned with Christianity anymore because I have been bashed for just being me, but I do respect the people who are kind and don’t bash others and just want everyone to be loved. So great video ❤.

There's a lot of things that are different between Sunset and starlight mainly that Starlight was actually an interesting villain Walston said was your generic textbook villain mixed with Regina George but boring I love Sunset and starlight but since it was just such a terrible villain there's a reason why people never want to actively watch the first movie and it isn't just Sunset was a boring villain but that's a factor
One opinion I kinda wanna make. The whole “blank was forgiven too easily” if you think about long and hard…is kinda dumb. Like, put aside that forgiveness is one of the main themes of this show and think about it. What would punishing Starlight accomplish? What would that do for her? I mean it MIGHT have the POSSIBILITY of making her rethink her actions but it could also make her want vengeance. And with a character as strong as Starlight, vengeance isn’t good. From personal experience and observation Punishment. Doesn’t. Work. It just makes me feel angry and scared of the punishment and I don’t learn anything. If you talk to me however, I will. And that’s what the Mane 6 did with Starlight and now, Starlight might as well be considered a hero. If Starlight was punished severely she wouldn’t have changed because of the goodness of her heart, she would have changed out of fear. Those two aren’t the same. So, Starlight being taken under Twilight’s wing (get it) was probably the best choice for Starlight (assuming you care about her because a lot of those people who said she should have been punished don’t). And this makes me wonder, why does punishment exist? Is it to get the wrong do er to realize their mistakes or does it exist just to see that person suffer consequences? If people can learn mistakes just by talking to them and explaining why what they did was wrong, why is there a need for punishment? (Another point, I’m sorry this is long, I’ll never get people holding a grudge over Starlight because of her backstory. Her backstory was weak….okay? And? That doesn’t change the solid growth she had as a character. Whatever happened to the “out past doesn’t define us” message? That message only applies to characters with tragic and epic backstories now? I’d argue that Sunset’s backstory reason for villainy was more shallow than Starlight’s. She simply wanted to rule Equestria because she felt like she should? That’s way more one dimensional than “My best friend left me because he found his true calling so I’m gonna make everyone loose their talent so they don’t leave me behind”.)
Honestly that’s how I saw Twilight and Starlight’s relationship as well. I definitely love the concept of them being like sisters to each other.

There is actually a theory about Starlight Glimmer is Twilight's sister but they brainwashed Twilight and Starlight
I don't think the brainwashing is canon, but it makes sense for Starlight and Twilight to be siblings
Mostly because their name is really similar, they both have the word "Light" in their name and they have a ending(?) name that's really similar Glimmer and Sparkle.

@@TheArtisticAloubell 👍
To be perfectly fair, there are a number of instances where Starlight's incredible skillset actually impacts a story:
The entire premise of her introduction shakes the foundations of the rules of magic we had for the show.
When starlight was reformed she kept on thinking/worrying about her past. While sunset doesn’t look back but forward. Like her past isn’t today.
Starlight Glimmer has went from Villain to Heroine is amazing arc. Starlight has grown and takes Queen Crysalis HEAD ON TWICE.
Finaly Starlight is geting the praise she deserves!
And just to say, I must admit I've never heard her voice in english until one mitute ago, but in Brazil she's voiced by Maíra Paris and I love her voice so much!

I'm glad you are Starlight in a new light now 😁

Someone else and I were discussing that elsewhere in the comments lol

It would have been cool if they did that 😭

I'm sorry for what you've gone through as well =( I hope you're doing better!

Very well said!
Also, I hope things are better for you nowadays
I totally want to meet Starlight Glimmer in person!
SAMEEEE
Also Starlight apparently went through a goth phase or a punk phase if her old room has anything to say about it in the episode where we meet her father

@@TheArtisticAloubell or at least a picture of it
Starlight is honestly one of the best developed character and It was done in such little time,It’s impressive honestly!
I agree! 👍✨
Rarity is awesome too! She's in my top 5 favorite ponies ^_^
Did you saw season 5?
Why do I feel like Aloubell could make a 24 hr rant if she let herself? With the whole element of harmony thing, I have believed for a very long time that there should be a 7th element of forgiveness/acceptance that sunset and starlight would have respectively because of their experience with it. Also spike was supposed to be the little brother character even having a crush on 1 of the main 6, whatever his relationship with twilight is, it's meant to be to the audience. If they wanted to make him a bigger character they should have started season 2 and been given an element late season 3-4 to make it natural. As always amazing art!😚👌❤
lol
Imagine me ranting for 24 hours haha I'd give up on editing that altogether XD
Sunset and Starlight could have easily been two sides of the same coin. Sunset representing the element in the human world while Starlight represents it in the pony world.
And I agree if they wanted to put more emphasis on Spike and his importance to the overall story, they should have done it sooner and more obviously. The writers seemed a bit confused as to what they wanted to do with Spike.
@@TheArtisticAloubell I found it troubling that for a show that focuses so much on redemption, there isn't more focus on prison reform.
( plus my ex friend’s reasons are legit stupid and them leaving me and my other friend was their fault so I didn’t really feel as bad after a while [ yeah they were pretty toxic and I’m honestly way better without them ] )
But anyway, I hope you are doing well :)
I'm sorry about what you went through with your ex-friend. But I'm glad you're doing well now! ❤️❤️

@@TheArtisticAloubell No problem :)
Did you then also saw season 5?
Thank you so much for your kind words!
This video is super sweet
❤️❤️❤️
Fluttershy and Starlight had amazing development! That's why they are my favorite two ponies x3 Rarity is amazing as well. 😁

It refreshing to see some love for Starlight, the hate for a FICTIONAL CARTOON character was way too much for me. Though some complaints are understandable, it's still too much.
Did you saw season 5 then?
People aren't angry about Luna because she was punished by being imprisoned for 1,000 years.
Starlight is my favorite mlp character ! love to see her get the appreciation she deserves ✨
Yess!! 😁💐✨

"Big adventures, tones of fun, a beautiful heart, faithful and and strong, sharing kindness, give empathy and magic makes it all complete." This is my take of squeeze a starlight verse in.

I'm so glad you love Starlight as well
Did you saw season 5 then? By the way i am also huge fan of starlight

i may haven’t watched mlp as much when starlight got redeemed but i did see most of her screen time in one way or another and relate to her in a way, her backstory mainly. I lost friend groups And friends, not just once and one of them had more impact on me as a friend of mine was almost more than a friend before he stopped talking to me
after a while i just constantly worri(ed) about losing friends, and just not doing the best. But other Than that as i said hearing your experiences and why you relate to Starlight and just knowing more abt her after falling out of my mlp phase just felt good

Thank you for sharing your thoughts!

It's cool that you can relate Starlight to another character X3
Though I see what you mean about the idea of the ponies merely keeping her around at first cuz she's more useful as an ally, I feel like they already went that route with Discord, so doing it again with Starlight would have been repetitive. Besides, I do like how everyone was just nice to her after her...ahem...boo boos...and how nicely she got along with everyone despite her mess-ups and insecurities =')

I do appreciate stories that highlight grace, mercy, and forgiveness! ^_^

I'm sorry about what you went through, but I'm glad it led to a beautiful friendship that strengthened your relationship with our Lord and Savior!
At first i was salter to starlight, but this video gave me a more postive look on staright and made me oddly relate to her more thank you aloubell ^^
That's awesome!
I love Starlight so much!
You have great taste! 😎👍✨
Did you saw season 5 then?
Guess it’s cause if the posting but I literally made that comment 3 minutes after the video went live so I was not in the full context of the video at the time
Trixie's redemption gets rushed and no one bats an eye
Starlight's redemption gets rushed and society goes wild
Society:😡😡😡😡😡😡🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬👿👿👿👿👿👿
DX And I don't even think her redemption is THAT rushed. Technically, both Starlight AND Trixie still had some lingering aspects of themselves from their villain days that they needed to work on after redemption (although you could make the argument that Trixie was never really a villain to begin with...the alicorn amulet had a negative effect on her that she couldn't control).
I did not expect to cry from a Starligth video but here we are.
I can relate hole heartedley with the story.
I remember mine friends slowly distancing themselfs away from me,
to the point I became someone with no social experiements what so ever.
I was to shy to even talk I couldnt look into peoples eyes wel I still cant.
Starligths and our story is realistic and people go trough this even if you say its not a big deal.
It can change a person despratley and Im glad she goten the redemtion and friends she deserved
even if in real life things are diffrent sadly
I'm so sorry about your own experiences =(
I hope things have gotten better for you!
Maybe Starlight could be the element of Justice? It's like a good version of what the village was.
Ah starlight, my second favorite mlp character.
She's great! 🥰 Who's number 1?
@@TheArtisticAloubell number 1 is a bit of a tie between Luna and Twilight.
@@skydragonslayer9820 ah! Neat! 😁
Oh, I forgot Severas Snape from Harry Potter, Levi Ackerman from attack on Titan and Greed from Full metal Alchemist. So many great characters ...
She also my favourite/nomber one and does that mean you are fan of her?
If you are fan of her like me, then did you saw season 5 and duel between starlight and twilight?
@@samuelkriz2761 I remember that. I think Twilight and Starlight were equally matched in the season 5 duels.
Message of the video: There is good And there is bad Being bad hasn’t it’s moments and popularity but being good has it memory remember So be good to one another and if someone brings you down then just get back up god is strong and so are You keep being you no matter what ✨
❤❤
8:58 I think we should call "stars" polygrams so they are not comfused with space things that do nuclear fusion.
MLP: Nice yet cringe
MLB: Awesome yet dumb
Yeaaaaa second best pony after rarity.
Rarity is amazing too! She's in top 5 for me! 🥰
Rarity is mad underrated 😭
I'm sorry about everything you went through, really I am. People claiming to be Christian should be nothing but loving. They/We don't have to agree with you or approve of what you do, but that's no reason to be mean and disrespectful. I'm truly sorry.
Of course, I would be remiss to not encourage you to come back to Christianity. God loves you so very much.
But I can't force you.
In any case, thank you for your nice comment! ❤️ And for watching!
@@TheArtisticAloubell Thank you for responding so nicely. I may not be a Christian anymore, but I definitely respect and love the people who show kindness regardless of who or what people align with. I try and respect all religions and backrounds, even the one I left. I still have my gripes and insecurities about religion and my own spirituality, but I’m happy to know there are people that are in the religion that aren’t all out to bash people who leave or had bad experiences. I hope your channel continues to grow. I personally love your ladybug videos! Thanks again for your great comment! ❤️
@@ladybuggamer4479 if you're ever considering Christianity again, or if you have any questions about it, please let me know =)
I shall pray for you! 🙏❤️
Thank you again! 💖✨
@@TheArtisticAloubell I might take you up on that if I feel so inclined, thank you. 😊❤️
I loved your face reveal at the end! I love Starlight Glimmer aswell Aloe. I think your hair would look amazing with purple tips just like Starlight's hair! Where are you from by the way? Also, I'd like to ask... I know you don't watch MLB but have you actually watched all episodes of MLP?
Thank you ^_^
I'm from the US!
And yes, I've seen all of MLP: FiM--it's my favorite show!
I love starlight too
Since you love her, did you also saw season 5 and duel between starlight and twilight?
Can relate from your background story. The difference is that I know it was my fault cuz I never learned how to keep a friendship until I was to late. Part of this was my autism and lack of communication and social skills but still. I’m in my early 30s and I still struggle with this especially since I grew accustomed to being by myself with my dog keep me company.
I pray that things get better for you and that you have many loved ones surrounding you! In Jesus' name Amen 🙏❤
@@TheArtisticAloubellThank you❤
Amazing video, i love starlight glimmer so much
Thank you! 🥰
I too love starlight so much, so does this mean you are fan of starlight?
If you are fan of starlight then did you saw season 5 and duel between starlight and twilight?
@@samuelkriz2761 yup her emotional loath mean a lot to me. i wont focus on the fight but she was really good during those segments make me smile.
Out of all the videos you've made, I think this one will always be my favorite 💖
BTW, you look so beautiful 🤩 it was really cool to see your face reveal 🤗
Aww thank you so very much! ❤️❤️❤️
Nice to see a christian speaking openly about their faith in an age when being religious is mocked by the internet.
Starlight is definitely my favorite character and I'm so glad to see that people are finally giving her the love she deserves.
God bless you!
Thank you for your kind words!
I'm biased towards reformed villains too. Maybe that's why I like Luna
✨️
Edit: OH MY GOD FACE REVEAL!! YOU'RE GORGEOUS ALOUBELL!!!!
Thank you so much ❤️🥰

There's a lot of things that are different between Sunset and starlight mainly that Starlight was actually an interesting villain Walston said was your generic textbook villain mixed with Regina George but boring I love Sunset and starlight but since it was just such a terrible villain there's a reason why people never want to actively watch the first movie and it isn't just Sunset was a boring villain but that's a factor
I agree but i think she was best pony villain
Did you happened to see season 5 and duel between starlight and twilight?
She simply wanted to rule Equestria
because she felt like she should? That’s way more one dimensional than “My best friend left me because he found his true calling so I’m gonna make everyone loose their talent so they don’t leave me behind”.)
THIS. Everything you said was spot on.
