Marin Oso Pedals - Better Than PNW and OneUp?

- Marin sent me a pair of their Oso flat pedals and I was pleasantly surprised. So much so, that I decided to do this three minute review on them. Composite mountain bike pedals are a competitive space but Marin has managed to make something that stands out. They are larger than some of the competition like PNW and OneUp which makes them a more stable platform. They're slightly heavier and coat a few bucks more but I think they're worth it for one big reason - they're slightly concave. This fits a shoe better and allows all the traction pins to make full contact with your shoes.
Marin did send these pedals to me for free but there were zero strings attached. The did not ask that I do a review video or anything. They were simply included with a loaner bike. - กีฬา
I have been looking at those. Thanks for the review!
You bet! I think they’re definitely worth it.
My favorite composite pedals are the MEC Chinook they have a nice concave and not too many pins.
Nice, can’t beat the price on those! Only thing I don’t like is those outer two composite pins. I know I’d break those off within a month.
@@downtoridemtb yeah. That kind of sucks but they're more grippy than my crankbrothers stamp pedals so for now they're my go too for my jump and trail bikes
How you getting on with the deore 5100 derailleur and the advent x 🤙🏻
Still doing great. I’m going to do a follow up video on it soon.
🤙🏻 can’t wait
wasn’t sure weather to do it myself or just go with the 5100 group set
@@jojokarli I think weight would be the main reason to go with the mixed combo. The deore cassette is heavy compared to the all aluminum advent x cassette. But if that doesn’t matter to you, full deore might be better.
Is the thumb shifter on advent x longer than the deore 🤙🏻
I’m actually not sure. Don’t have a bike with a deore shifter anymore or I’d check.
