Raw surf clips from an EPIC but crowded day at Malibu

- I'm mixing things up in this episode and throwing you raw surfing clips from a really good day (July 20th) in Malibu. Let me know if you like the raw clips and maybe I'll produce more.

Raw footage is always the best, in my opinion, and don't be afraid to pan out and around ...to show the beach surrounding areas as well. It is always nice to see more than just some guy on a wave!
The pier is such a great angle - you get the outside lines, the lineup, the people paddling out, the beach, and sometimes the lagoon is even in the background
Yeah, I really like filming from that angle.
It also highlights the repeat offenders to basic surfer etiquette.
Hard to tell what was worse the traffic on the 405 or that that lineup. Yikes!
definitelydo more. like the Sufers of bali channel.
Oh yeah, unedited footage is very interesting! Bring it on.
What's going on here is etiquette stretched to the breaking point. Certainly starts important conversations.
Love the raw clips. Also love my home break. Its always crowded but not nearly as crowded as this. No traffic, no rock dance, and I can go left or right. Scored some bomb ass waves today.

Best footage of Malibu I've seen. I've never surfed it. Looks like I could actually get a wave with the sections and a lot of people sitting in the Chanel. Thanks
no you cant, odds youll be in the right spot at right time are slim......you can be out there 3 hrs and not get a wave.....surfed it plenty, not worth the hassle or danger of getting smashed by some kooks longboard
I like the raw footage here. Malibu is a spectacle that holds its own without music, narration or much editing.

OMG look at al those Kooks in the water. 5:42 that dude dropped right in on that guy then wiped him right out. He's looking right at him and just slams into him. I wouldn't be able to handle all the drop ins there. I's be head hunting.
Apparently etiquette is a trigger word in LA

Always wondered….is there an etiquette for dropping in on someone at Malibu? you can only drop in on someone if you think you can do a better turn? Or it’s okay to drop on on them as long as your 3ft away?
A veritable army of poor man's Doras out there.
Designed the 'Malibu Surf and Sport' logo for the owner in the early 90's. At the time we both lived on our boats (nothing fancy) in MDR paying $10 bucks a foot. His shop was on the second floor right across from the pier and he had a bad ass telescope aimed at the point...pretty much the same angle as your spot. He paid me with boards and a wetsuit. Can't tell you how many times I made the drive up that coast. Sunset hmm, Topanga....hmm, Malibu....flat or too crowded. Always ended up at Leo for some reason. Maybe for the rock foot massage and the 5 people that were out back then.

if the crowds control lanes and queue turnstiles were removed from Disneyland, this is how it would be to get on the rides.
I use to surf Malibu allot in the 70's - & we would call it a world class wave but for being a world class wave it sure sections off quite a bit - we would night surf it as well..
Definitely a wave to accomodate a couple of surfers, but my god this is too much. Pure mayhem

Even today, with waves just 1-2 feet, there were over 50 people out... Which is why I went snorkeling and got a bunch of sanddollars!

I don’t know why people are saying it’s cool to drop in…it’s ok to party wave where everyone gets up at the same time or flows together. but if you’re crashing or interrupting someone’s ride and flow that sucks no matter what. You can really hurt people doing that dumb sh*t

The kook factor is so high that it's painful to watch. Kind of like trying to watch a video of Swamis on a swell.
Hollywood is a lie. I learned at a young age that CA beaches are freaking cold! Even though some beaches are warm sometimes, the water is 🤯
