Dude I don't usually like Let's Plays but yours are really entertaining, I like that you're just really friendly and relaxed, and not really trying to show off like a lot of other let's players.
Fun fact: Kabuto is the only non-bug Pokemon to have 4 eyes: two on its shell and two below its shell. However, when it evolves it loses its two bottom eyes, becoming a basic two eyed Pokemon.

~4:40 -- and add to that that, in gen 1, there is only 1 non constant damage ghost attack (lick) and it does suck damage... The other, nightshade, does damage equal to your level so weakness doesn't matter...

Bulbasaur is Grass/Poison. It's the only starter Pokemon that is more than one type in its first evolution. Every other one, they need to evolve once or twice to gain a second type. As for the random generated teams, they could be interesting. Perhaps you could get some underrated Pokemon in them to show off.
Keep on using a randomizer to pick your teams! I really like that idea. Plus, I think it would be interesting to see what you would do if you got some pokemon like ditto.
On the time where he uses surf on onix it reminds me of a joke people would make about onix and squirtle. It was mostly on pictures online but it was where a tiny squrtile goes up against a huge onix in a battle on the pewter city brock fight and squirtle uses bubble and little bubbles come up and pop gently on onix and then onix faints it's so funny.
Random teams sound fun, but I have a suggestion, If you get a pokemon that you've already played with, you'll have to re-roll your team... sure at Giovanni it might become an hassle so by the time you reach him just pick out from the rest.
At first I thought you were gonna import your team as-is to do the gym leader fights... but then again, it's totally not balanced for that and you'd get wrecked.
I like the randomly generated teams idea! It'll bring out some interesting battles, for sure.
I REALLY wanted to do that, but I only have 2 Pokemon in Yellow at this point, and all the Gym Leader Castle stuff is level 50. There WILL be import battles, though! Pika Cup and Petit Cup will both see imports on the team, and I plan to use my main team for Round 2 Prime Cup, and possibly Round 2 Gym Leader Castle as well.
Awesome. I'm kinda wondering about the movesets though. They won't be so great stacked against the rentals...
ScykohPlays I always found the concept of Console Pokémon games interesting.
the teams would be leveled by your highest level Pokemon...
If thor is highest in yellow and you dont use rentals,everything would be level 10 or something
Farfetch'd also has a little niche in the first games - In Red / Blue / Yellow, outside of Charizard, it is the only Pokemon to get both Cut and Fly, making it a really good HM slave.
Not only is Farfetch'd available as an ingame trade, but you can also catch it in the route right outside the the Santalune City gym, which is what i did (I named it Handiquack because reasons).
It learns Aerial Ace extremely early, making that bug-type gym a breeze.

I remember playing these games, had loads of fun. I always thought Onix would of been like one of the strongest when I first saw it XD. Was slightly dissapointed that Onix didn't have an evolution. I've only played red and blue (blue being the main game, red was for the trade when my bro was done XD).
Once Pokemon stadium came out though, I would play this for hours to the point where the expansion that goes to the controller would stop registering it XD.
Psychic is OP in Gen1 for these reasons:
Psychic is weak to ghost and bug. Here are the moves:
Leech Life (Bug, 15 Pwr, 95 Acc, Absorbs Damage)
Twin Needle (Bug, 25 Pwr, 85 Acc, Hits Twice)
Pin Missle (Bug, 15 Pwr, 90 Acc, Hits upto 5 times)
Confuse Ray (Ghost, 80 Acc, Confuses target)
Night Shade (Ghost, 100 Acc, Damage equal to level)
Lick (Ghost, 20 Pwr, 100 Acc, can paralyze(only ghost attack to cause super effective damage to a psychic type))
Psychic is strong against:
Poison (all Gen 1 ghost types have poison type as well so they actually have a weakness. Pure ghost has no weakness)
Fighting
On the contrary to some of the comments I'm really enjoying this series and this game has been covered a lot less than Pokemon Yellow in Lets Plays. The RNG'ing is a fun idea and I look forward to seeing how the rest of the series goes :D

Blizzard is 90
Hydro Pump is 80
Solarbeam is 100 (Although it needs two turns)

I have an interesting story regarding the Elite Four in this Tower I beat them with a Snorlax using metronome for the final move and it used fly he kind of just jumped-up started dancing rose up into the air and then use the body slam animation to dive it was the most glorious thing I have ever seen
Yeah, bind in the original Red and Blue was a pain in the ass. (Fire Spin was the same, expect I sometimes exploited it when versing the Elite Four... hehehe... >_>)
Like Scykoh explained, the opponent would just use it and you couldn't move for a certain number of turns. Then, when you're finally free to attack, they would use it again! It made versing Ekans and Onix a nightmare as a kid... -_-'

*Gasps* The Bulbasaur was named Bulby! If I started my Pokemon game with Bulbasaur, I would name it Bulby! I had the idea for it for a while but I always choose Charmander instead.
I once had a Primeape in Pokemon Blue (friend traded it to me), and since Primeape is the fastest fighting type in the game, just about every hit was a critical hit.
It doesn't matter if Ghost moves could affect Psychic Pokemon in gen 1 since the only three Ghost Pokemon were part Poison type. Nerfed to the max.

Dragon Type is also very useful in Gen 1. There is only ONE Dragon-typed Attack in Gen 1. Dragon Rage. Yep. Dragon Type has not a single attack that you can get actual stab on.
Correction: Psychic was origonally IMMUNE to ghost, weather this was intended or not is up in the air.
On the Random Pokemon Generator, I put in the same settings as you did, and I got Bellsprout, Jigglypuff, Seel, Caterpie, Magneton, and Kabuto

Aerial ace is a 100% will hit always move, but it isn't is gen 1 BUT swift can hit pokemon who are in the middle of fly and dig

I have farfech'd in my leaf green team and he crushes everything even in late game
The fastest mon is Electrode. Tied for second is Aerodactyl, Mewtwo and Jolteon IIRC.
One more thing: Electrode has a base 140 speed. Aerodactyl, Mewtwo and Jolteon are base 130. Dugtrio is base 120 so it is definitely top five.

Actually, in Gen 1, Psychic was inmune to Ghost naturally, not via glitch

It would be interesting to see him trying to beat round 2 without using mewtwo and alakazam to make it easy like i did lol. In the game boy games the glitch is there, but their fix it in this game just like hyper beam not needing to recharge when K.O a pokemon. But it does have the glitch of missing 1 in 256, my 100 level charizard also always crit with slash because of it speed lol
Bug is also weak to poison in gen 1 my poor Pepper died because I forgot about that.

In Pokemon stadium 100 accuracy means can't miss you're thinking the Gameboy versions of gen 1 Pokemon stadium actually applies accuracy properly

I've found more shinies than I've missed 100% accuracy moves in gen II, and I've only found 1 shiny (gyarados doesn't count)... so I think it's only gen1.

If I can remember (as its been like 12 years since I've played an actual N64) you do not as it saves on the cartridge.
A nice feature Nintendo is still using today.

Actually, you can catch a Farfetch'd early in gen 6. It's located in Route 22 (Santalune Side), however the chance of meeting it is about 10%.
