    Very helpful video -- better than anything Lenovo provides. But they sure made this devilishly hard. I'm used to Thinkpads, which have batteries that are easy to swap. One note: some of the screws are of different sizes, though that's not obvious to look at them. Keep track of where they came from.

    • @uFixTek
      @uFixTek  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      there are many components that needs to be checked before, there are few power regulators, they look like this: imgur.com/a/9JGdbxJ
      and few resistors, i don't recommend you to touch them if you don't have electronic background, you could damage the motherboard. i recommend you to see a good technician. sorry but there is nothing at this point that i can assist you over the chat, i will try to make a video on how to detect shorts on power regulators, but it will be on different boards, unless i get the same laptop with the issue.

    • @uFixTek

      you can only replace the HDD to SSD , BUT if you don't use your optical drive, you can remove it and place a adapter that can hold ssd /hdd .

      Can add SSD but want to remove the HDD and then use adaptor to put SSD in HDD slot ? Thats your mean ?

    • @uFixTek
      @uFixTek  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      in your case i would use the following config:
      #1.remove the HDD from the main board, install an SSD and install the OP in the SSD.
      #2. plug in your old HDD as an external hdd to remove your personal files (backup) amzn.to/2TkW1ia
      #3. the reason for the 2nd step is you have to format the old hdd as it contains many internal partitions and has a OP installed and your lap may boot into it, unless you good around boot menu.
      #4.after formatting you HDD place it in the optical caddy and place it in the dvd space and remove your old optical drive and keep it for the future use.
      #5. enjoy having a SSD as your O.P and extra storage for your files in your optical drive.

    This is ridiculous! Thank you for the super informative video (you get a like from me) but why did the designers make it so difficult to do something so simple. For my last laptop, it was as simple as sliding a switch/button and pulling the battery out. I might just buy the battery and take it to the shop.....

    • @uFixTek
      @uFixTek  6 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      they are simply dont want you to change it by your self they want you to pay them so they change it. it will take you 10-15min to do it your self. if you take it to the shop, trust me they will best and mess up your flex cables and wont put all the screws back in. i do this for living and i know how must technicians work. if you want a clean and safe , do it your self. also they may exchange your HDD to a worse one or manipulate your mobo. As a computer / electronic repair man, i dont trust 99% of the repair guyz up in canada nor down here in mexico. if you care about your stuff do it your self.

      uFixTek - That’s really shocking! I didn’t know some repair shops were that bad. Can’t they get sued for stuff like that? Although I guess it might be hard to prove it... Maybe I will try to do it myself. I’ll order a new battery soon. Are the screws on the inside the same as the screws on the outside?

    • @uFixTek
      @uFixTek  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      its hard to sue for something that you cant find out right when they give it to you. and when you sign for it. its sad but trust is out of the window from most repair shop. my clients trust me and try everything to keep it that way but for most they only see money.

    • @uFixTek
      @uFixTek  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      regarding the screws you cant mess it up, just keep the screws for the outside in one place and the inside in the other side , they are not many and its really hard reallllyy hard to fuck upo screws. and if you put the wrong screw wrong place nothing is gona happen you just take it back and place it where it goes all the way

      okay, there are two options here!, #1. format the hard drive with fresh install of the windows very easy and forward if you need help i can help 40min and you can have your windows new!
      #2. repair your windows with windows installation process. *here you maybe can conserve your files
      #3. if you really need your files (docs pics...) then you should buy one of this they are very very handy to have
      amzn.to/2J7WmBb
      then you remove your hdd and plug it in the adapter then to another pc and back up the files under USER and XXXX and doc and pics and everything else in there
      then you can do a fresh install steps:
      #1.www.microsoft.com/en-gb/software-download/windows10
      CLICK "DOWNLOAD TOOL NOW"
      #2. then use a 4gb or 8gb usb drive and chose to download into a bootable usb drive
      #3. after the download it will automatically burn it into usb
      #4. plug the usb into laptop and boot up and press F12 and choose windows 10 64 bit install and the rest is very essay instructions
      #5 in one of the steps During the installation YOU WILL GET TO CHOSE ADVANCED INSTALL (NEW INSTALLATION) or UPDATE AND REPAIR
      I WOULD RECOMMEND NEW "ADVANCED" if you have back up your files. and in the next step erase all the partitions in the list and click continue. make sure you erase all the partitions.
      if anything let me know.
      good luck

      there are two issue with this models, one is the battery is going bad 80% of the cases we get this issue in the store, 20% could be a bad mosfet or power regulator chip on motherboard .

      regarding your question: Don't say that lenovo makes awesome laptops too, but the issue is that you got or watching a low grade of the laptops, the S or T series lenovos are one of the best out there.
      same goes to asus, acer and others they make some of the worse lineup as this video , right now its not about who makes the best its all about the money (Benjamins) every brand makes so many categories from garbage to trashy as they can so they can milk the cow in this case the poor and low budge people. at the same time targeting the high class rich with more premium category.
      The only Garbage brand its all the way in all category its the HP built laptops.
