Excellent Sunday Morning Show with the family. Great to see it!! Yes, when my boys were young we spent a lot of time finding and washing golf balls. They would sell them to me for 50c each. Now they are grown up with teen-agers of their own, and still enjoy finding lost balls and playing them when faced with a tee shot over water.
Right kids Rules of the day. No crying, no arguing and no laughing at Mummy! And Dan that includes you, especially if you loose to your kids!! Great Sunday show, I was able to watch it with my 9 yr old grandson who was staying over, before his football match this morning. He is getting into golf and was watching intently to see how far your kids could hit a ball.
The best Sunday show I have seen Dan. I have trained my Springer Spaniels to find golf balls and they always come back with loads. Always use found golf balls. Pro v1 are always the most popular ball being found.
What a great advert for family golf. Well done Dan. Perranporth looks mint! You should get your wife on the Channel covering ladies golf and equipment and tips and 'stuff' - if she'd do it that is.
One of our senior members finds thousands of golf balls every year in the ponds and rough. He gives them away to our senior members and even remembers which make and model you play, so no need to buy new. Great show again and good to see the family enjoying themselves.👍
I love a golf ball hunt. UV light at night and the rough lights up like Sellafield!! Psi for last years membership by selling all the balls I found. (Don’t tell the pro!!) Good episode👍
Great show Dan and fantastic to watching the kid’s enjoyment both looking for balls and the sense of achievement and playing the game. Even at 60 I still love hunting for balls, generally find two or three around. Rarely do I have to buy and people are equally generous with tees. As long as they are reasonable quality, difficult to tell the difference even for a single figure handicap. Despite what the manufacturer wants you to believe.
In 2018 I retired and started to work at golf course, I played 1500 holes and found 700 balls that first year. My favorite is an old Karsten that is half pink and half white. You are right it is so much fun finding nests of balls. Keep up the hard work and enjoy that family as well. Love the show.
Nice to see the family Dan it was good to see your wife playing again. I've been told the best way to clean old golf balls is to put them in the dishwasher, I've never tried it myself.
How lovely to see your family + dog having so much fun looking for golf balls and then all playing together. The mention of the balata cover brought back memories of golfing past. The data analysis of the reclaimed balls was fascinating. Maybe we need to be more aware of upcycling and reuse of discovered balls. Finders keepers, losers weepers.
Loved that Sunday show. Here in France I find all the balls I need as the French give up looking for their lost balls within seconds! I pick out the premium make balls for playing and use the others in my practice net at home.
Great Sunday morning show Dan I'm always on lookout for lost balls when on the course I clean them up and hand into local cancer charity shop they can't get enough of them.👍
What a beautiful family you have Dan and it was really lovely to see you all playing together on the Golf course. Just a simple excerise like finding golf balls with the kids is great bonding time and you're building memories that'll stay with them. The dog loved it as well. 😁
How nice was that to watch! I'm trying to get my 10 and 8yr olds into golf and in this modern age any footage of kids playing is a great thing. TH-cam needs more golf content for the younger kids. Well done the Hendricksen family ❤❤
This brings me back to my youth finding mint Tour Balatas feeling like i had won the lottery... getting 3 and then going on the putting green with my maxfli tad moore! The guy that had a go at you as juniors what an absolute clown! Your kids and doggo living their best lives! Mum absolutely stripes one down the first!!
Good morning Dan! Great video that brings back memories of golf ball hunts from days long ago! I golf regularly with a friend who retired from the Titleist Golf Ball Plant #3 in New Bedford, MA, where the ProV1 line of golf balls are made. From him, he said that the ProV1's (x included) have Urethane Elastomer covers. These covers allow, over time, moisture into the ball. They should be stored at home in the original packaging, out of sunlight. The balls that are found, especially the ones in ponds, are definitely affected by the environment. ( ever find one all bubbly looking?) It's another good reason not to risk your money in the used ball market. (there are other reasons too). Anyway keep the Sunday Morning show coming! Cheers!
Great show dan. Nice to see you and the family out on the course having some fun. For me I tend to use balls I've found on the course or 'a' grade balls I've got off ebay. I did find that with using a whole mix off balls I preferred the callaway chrome soft so treated myself to some new ones. I still use the found/ebay ones as I don't feel so bad about losing them 😂
Great to see the family growing away Dan. I lose a lot of balls, but find more than I lose, just whilst on the course playing. Clean them up and use them.
I've been a fan of your channel for 5 years . This was a great video with your family. As far as lost golf balls, I will play provs when I find them. But I will normally buy a dozen of cheaper balls per year. Usually Titleist velocity or my newest ball Taylor made softs. There just not at 50.00. Or more. About $25-$30 per dozen. Thanks Dan for another great Sunday morning
Really lovely to see the family out golfing. Wish I had been introduced to golf at such a young age. I don’t play found or refurbished balls because they don’t function the way I expect, especially with wedges in my hand. I may pick them up and use them when practicing but never to play a round. Vice balls are rated quite well in ball lab from My Golf Spy. Cheers.
What a great idea for this Sunday show , loved seeing you all having such a fun time , played Perranporth many years ago when playing in the Cornish Festival, and I’ve wanted to go back ever since .
No joke, I literally have to give my weekend playing partners the same speech before each round. No crying, no arguing and no laughing at Mummy. It gets weird sometimes.
I watched this earlier before I went to Dinnaton for 9 holes,I found about 9 balls in the leaves there,it's always nice to find balls,I lost one though! What a great family video, you have a great family Dan 👍
I got a few Pro V1’s left hidden at Perran, well i did have until you guys turned up….our course is a gem and looked after brilliantly by Rob and his team…
Brilliant Dan, what it’s all about, ‘golf’ is so much more than 18 holes. Some of my fondest memories at the golf course as a junior didn’t involve hitting a shot
Really enjoyed watching that Sunday Morning Show. I don’t keep a Pro V1 for long they just like the trees and long grass for some reason. But a Callaway Chrome Soft usually gets worn out! Great watch and nice to see the family enjoying some time away.
Great family activity. I restocked my practice bag with grade A lakeballs recently as I wasn’t playing enough to fill it by topping it up with balls as I completed rounds. They do a job but apparently a ball only needs to be under water for a few hours before its integrity is compromised. Could be another video idea for you comparing different grades and suppliers? Found balls in the elements I dare say aren’t as quick to deteriorate. Wouldn’t recommend anyone to use refurbs as you don’t know what original ball is underneath the new paint job. You can find a half decent ball for the same price new I bet.
Same as you, as a junior finding balls funded our game, some for us to play, the rest we sold and it paid for my bus fares and the occasional lunch when i forgot my sandwiches. Playing 3 rounds a day was hungry business
Nice to see a family Hendricksen golf match. Laura's swing still looks good as do the kids. Recently had a few days in Southport with my son and a couple of friends. We played Formby ladies & Hillside. Every time they found a ball they gave them to me as they only use Callaway chrome soft. I ended up with about 15 pro v1's 😊
Wonderful SMS great to see you and your family having fun and making memories! I don’t play found balls, I like a tour type ball that gives me good spin on the greens. I’ve read to many articles back in the day about how a golf ball starts losing its performance pretty quickly in a very short time. I play Maxfli tour X as they are highly rated and a good value. I play Titleist pro v1x in tournaments sometimes. I will play a found tour ball of a different brand if it looks fresh to see how it performs during a casual round from time to time. Thanks for sharing some of your precious family with us Dan and God bless you and yours!
Great show Dan, my son on most Sunday evenings armed with his uv light walks around our local course and comes home with carrier bag’s full of golf balls, I haven’t had to buy a golf ball for years😂
Great vid Dan, nice to see the whole fam out on the course. Only once have I made the mistake of buying "refinished" balls. Performed more like a joke ball and went in the bin. Always like finding nuggets out on the course. Only ones I get wary of are balls fished out of ponds. If they have been sat there for a while and been stained by the silt, unless they clean up easily I chuck them to avoid any wierd results.
I love hunting for balls with my sons using a uv torch, giving lost balls another chance. I would've agreed with you a few years ago, that Callaway are most likely to be found. Now it's definitely a relatively even split between Titleist, Taylormade, Callaway and then the rogue brands. I'm sure courses will vary based on there members preference. Great to see you and the family having a lovely holiday 😊
Dan always for the found golf ball. Have of course used new in the past( or one hit wonders) as I like to call them. As a Saturday hacker? I believe golfers of our level can’t appreciate the difference new / old comparison, I can’t for one, only difference I get is it’s soft or like a pebble. I have some new pro v’s and pics in garage if interested 💶💶😀 Keep hunting… Oh another point new don’t swim any better than old.
So many memories, just what we always did in the 80s. Play 9 in the morning, basket of chips for lunch and 18 in the afternoon. Go and look for golf balls for a few hours before parentsl pick up..... On the test front i wonder how they would perform in the real world, if they were misshappen, badly refinished etc, those downrange trajectory flights maybe the bigger issue. Im guessing Quad just extrapolates what it sees in that millisecond at contact so the results could be even worse when wind hits it. Paint overload on those refinished balls is suspect which would also have an impact downrange. I'd avoid them as you say....... Keep up the great content, been with you since the start, always an enjoyable watch.
Hi Dan, good one, love seeing the family. All looking well. I look for golf balls all the time, some I keep, some I don't. Mondays and Tuesdays are the best days. I generally keep three or four at a time. And I do my best to keep moving as well. Titleist and Callaway are the two I find most often. Most of my buddies have extendable ball retrievers for creeks and ponds, but I don't. Cheers from Texas.🤠🏌️⛳
Really enjoyed that one, you and Laura have a lovely family… and the children already look like players.. hope it was a great week in Perranporth! I buy new balls and have a cheaper ball for winter as pretty much everything stops on greens here . Winter is mizuno… and seed SD02 for summer. Tried lake balls and refurbs, they were all incredibly inconsistent… the paint and text said it was the real thing…. But it was clearly different ball each time! I appreciate everyone has a budget, so if you have a set price, i would suggest a player buys a consistent ball even if it costs a bit less.
I just purchased some Penfold Golf balls, they have been relaunched, the Penfold Ace is a distance ball, the hearts are 4 piece urethane Prov equivalent at around £25 per dozen, lets see if they stack up.
Great video again, find quite a few and don't lose many. Found a Churston logo ball in the park adjacent to Oaks Park Golf course in Carshalton - a long way from home.
Loved the show. Golf doesn't have to be expensive. I find on average 15 balls per round. The make I find most of are Srixon, closely followed by Callaway and the cheaper Titleist. (Tru feel) In the winter when I am carrying the bag I don't pick them up because I am carrying the bag but when I have the trolley I pick up lots. I use some of them of course and sell the rest. From my point of view they perform very well. However any I find in the water that I use which is not many tbh i find perform less well. There is many many debates on Lake Balls on the internet. The general consensus is the harder covered balls in doesn't make much difference but the urethane covered ones it makes them perform less well. I don't use Prov1 tbh but I have tried Lake Balls and they seem to fly less far. Enjoyed the show
So many memories as a kid looking for golf balls. We used to have a shopping basket on some rope and dredge the ponds on the local course. These days good old Mum comes for a walk once a month and walks the rough. No joke she averages 10 golf balls each time. 😂 You should get a UV light and go at night 😉
Lovely to see the family out golfing and on such a beautiful course. Golf balls. I play new Wilson duo balls . I like to think that my balls are going to be used by future champions 😂. Great video again Dan xx
Nice video Dan... we went to Cornwall with the dogs a couple of years ago and went on the beach ⛱️ at Perranporth, I'd like to have a knock there it looks like a challenge. Shame it's a 5-6 hour drive or I'd be down that way playing links golf throughout the winter. I live in the North West, the links courses up here are still silly expensive even in the winter months. As for balls I use new balls as I'm off 2 and don't lose that many. I peg up in competitions with a fresh ball, if I do lose it I use one which has been used in a previous comp.
Srixon soft feel Ad333 and various callaway balls is what I normally find probably one in twenty is a titleist. Great that you can go out as a family and enjoy some golf 😀
Hi Dan great vlog. I am a bit of a ball snob and use a Pro V1X new each round and then just chip with them after that. Win them in the NTP and comp so not that expensive and what the heck I try to only use 1 per round. Cheer to the family and keep up the good work
Well done Dan and Family. I take my son and Daughter on at twlight for 6 holes and ball hunting. We havedone since Covid restrictions got lifted. We have to date 2300 Balls plus around ten egg boxes to family and friends. Prov1 double the amount of any other the AD333 then (>)Sirixion distance >soft feel. My favourite is playing old skool ball surprises with my mates. 1970s balls much smaller. Each player has to blindpick from the ( lucky bag) i got printed for the fun events. Balls are all fine.yes i have LOCOs found those.
I have always used course found balls since I started playing golf 6 years ago, but not lake found balls. Never had an issue with course found balls and I am now a 10 handicap.
great video Dan, finding golf balls is always fun. my son uses the balls we find as he has not long started playing the game but we find mainly titleist and srixon’s.
Dan it's always great when you find a decent ball when out playing. I do purchase lake balls mainly for the winter. But I haven't had to buy any this year due to the amount I'm finding out on the course 🎉🎉
Great to see you and the family having a nice break Dan. Interesting video a ProV is always a good find but I wonder does the performance drop off after so many rounds and is there any real difference between a ball made in 2016 and now.
Have been waiting for you to do a vid on this. I have a mixed bag, tend to use new balls in comps, and lake balls for practice / messing around. What's the difference between a lake ball and a refurb? I'm not clear on that. Great vid, you're very lucky to have a full family of golfers!
Like many others I find plenty when I play (pays to spray it around a bit), although I do have a quality control process so probably only pick up 60%. I would say the most common ball I find is a Srixon or Callaway. Seems Perranporth has a better quality of lost ball
Great episode Dan, nice to see the family out on the golf course. You suggested going to Links courses during the Winter, which ones would you recommend in the £50-£100 Green fee bracket?
When I livied in Indonesia I would play golf and the locals would sell golf balls they find on the course. I found if they had been in the water they were toast. I had more fun talking and supporting the locals than the balls were worth.
For me a found ball is generally very worn but occasionally ok. We keep a few for shots over water and call them lake balls. Very often they are Prov V 1 that should have been thrown away years ago. They are lost for a reason (too old to play).
Vice Pro is ProV1 equivalent, Pro Plus is Pro V1 equivalent (4 piece/firmer) and they do Pro Air which is a tour quality ball for slower swing speeds! The Loco is a low compression distance ball by Dunlop, my wife played one for a short time! My son was given 2 x 24 boxes of “refurb” ProV1’s! Out of 48, two were fit to play and several were overpainted Callaways!
Such a lovely show and family ❤
Excellent Sunday Morning Show with the family. Great to see it!! Yes, when my boys were young we spent a lot of time finding and washing golf balls. They would sell them to me for 50c each. Now they are grown up with teen-agers of their own, and still enjoy finding lost balls and playing them when faced with a tee shot over water.
Lovely to see the family getting involved Dan. One of my favourite Sunday Morning Shows for ages..... (and they're always good!)
Great to see you getting out with the family making memories that they'll share with their kids one day.
Nice idea, she is not interested sadly
😔
Excellent show as usual Dan. Great to see the family out for a game. Loving the course rules. They should be on a board at every first tee.
Brilliant episode, lovely to see you and the family out there having fun, by the way who would laugh at mums swing, I'm envious 😅
A real double whammy SMS this week. Lovely family video followed by a fascinating bit of ball testing. Great stuff Dan.
One of your best, really enjoyable. Thanks Dan
Bring back balatas Dan ❤ hope you had a great holiday 🎉🍷🏌️
Just another great Sunday morning show look forward to them every week
Was a lovely watch. Touched the heart to see the kids digging out the balls !
The kids are great. Monty is awesome. And Mom the star!
Great family Dan, and they look like they enjoyed the golf
One of our senior members finds thousands of golf balls every year in the ponds and rough. He gives them away to our senior members and even remembers which make and model you play, so no need to buy new.
Great show again and good to see the family enjoying themselves.👍
One of the best Sunday Morning Shows! I was entertained.
Very different and enjoyable video.
I collect balls I find, and give them to the ladies who look after the juniors and beginners at our club.
I love a golf ball hunt. UV light at night and the rough lights up like Sellafield!!
Psi for last years membership by selling all the balls I found. (Don’t tell the pro!!)
Good episode👍

Very true about the refurb balls. Hit and miss plus they cut up easily as they are coated. The Slazenger is crap...😄
Lovely family Dan 👍
What a beautiful family you have Dan and it was really lovely to see you all playing together on the Golf course.
Just a simple excerise like finding golf balls with the kids is great bonding time and you're building memories that'll stay with them.

@@DanHendriksenGolf Welcome, Dan
@DanHendriksenGolf to be fair, the way we play golf on our channel, they're probably all mine 😆 ⛳️
Wonderful family. Very nice to see.
Great show Dan this begs the question do golf balls have a shelf life. It's great to see family values, too.
Fantastic family video 👍👍
Great show dan. Nice to see you and the family out on the course having some fun. For me I tend to use balls I've found on the course or 'a' grade balls I've got off ebay.
Excellent vlog, well played
As a dad that’s gotta be the best day ever for you.
Have been waiting for you to do a vid on this. I have a mixed bag, tend to use new balls in comps, and lake balls for practice / messing around. What's the difference between a lake ball and a refurb? I'm not clear on that. Great vid, you're very lucky to have a full family of golfers!
Think refurb balls are repainted and logo’d
Like many others I find plenty when I play (pays to spray it around a bit), although I do have a quality control process so probably only pick up 60%. I would say the most common ball I find is a Srixon or Callaway. Seems Perranporth has a better quality of lost ball
Great episode Dan, nice to see the family out on the golf course. You suggested going to Links courses during the Winter, which ones would you recommend in the £50-£100 Green fee bracket?
Can’t go wrong with Vice balls, especially the green and orange in the winter.
Great video mate ,reminds me of my younger days without the dog 🐕 😂
Nice kids and beautiful dog! Golf is a great family interest,
Those Callaways are probably Lockeys
When I livied in Indonesia I would play golf and the locals would sell golf balls they find on the course. I found if they had been in the water they were toast. I had more fun talking and supporting the locals than the balls were worth.
Great lookin kids you’ve got there, Dan. Very sweet. Congratulations. 121 balls: Wow. Great job!
I reckon some of those Pro V1s are mine, I lost a load the only time I played at Perranporth 😂
My take from this is that new ProV1’s are a total rip off. But having used Vice balls all this season I knew that already ! Interesting video. 👍
Same then
top video buddy
No wonder you were known as the blood hound in Mark's videos 😂 it was trained in as a kid 😂
